The food here is amazing. This time our waiter seemed a little shy, but he warmed up near the end. There was a family with an unruly child sitting really close to our corner booth, but that can't always be helped. My husband was quite pleased with his father's day dinner!
It's our go to place in Reston, VA. The food and service are exceptional. We simply enjoy dining at PassionFish in Reston.
Love PassionFish for lunch, Father's Day brunch was a very MEH experience. I saw our waitress make a comment to another server after taking our order when I asked if they had "normal" bacon versus Canadian bacon and this put a bad taste in my mouth. My champagne glass reeked of fish as if it had shrimp cocktail stored in it over night. Crab cakes were outstanding. I appreciate the accommodations they try to make for small children and the play packs available. The waffles were very basic when received for kids, we thought it may be children's only but chicken and waffles had same lack luster at home style bisquik waffle. Food was just ok to be priced so high.
Birthday for my best friend
A very enjoyable dinner with outstanding service! Would definitely recommend!
This restaurant is one of our favorites. While the menu could use some new items, the specials are always great. My wife always orders the crispy flounder but our server mention soft shell carbs she quickly changed her mind. Both our meals were superior. If you've never been to Passion Fish, you should give it a try.
Great Father’s Day Dinner, even if I had to pick up the tab. Food and Service were outstanding as always.
There is nothing wrong with PassionFish, but at the price point where it resides, it just seems like there are better options. The food is certainly tasty and somewhat creative in terms of the taste combinations they have. Our server was very personable and knew the menu and wine list quite well. Otherwise, the place didn't really rise far above "meh" for me.
Just plain underwhelming for the price point. Ceasar salad was not good, crab cakes just meh...fish, just meh. Really disappointing.
It was a great experience. We had such a great time. I wish I could remember the waitresses name, but she was terrific! Food, service, ambiance were exceptional.
Excellent food, but we were seated next to a large group and it was very hard for the four of us to hear each other. I truly believe older folks do better in a booth, facing each other directly and with the voices somewhat contained in the booth.
Excellent food and service!
Great for business meetings whether for lunch or dinner. Service is always on point and the food is just as consistent.
Another great meal. Started with a crab cake and a calamari appetizer. Very, very good. My wife had the Dynamite roll and I had the halibut. Both were nicely plated and delicious. For dessert we shared the lava cake and key lime tart. Highly recommended.
Nice place to have an elegant dinner. Service was a bit rushed but overall good food and easy to chat with fellow diners.
Seafood Gumbo is HEAVEN!!!
It was my birthday. They greeted us at the door with Happy Birthday and across the menu it said Happy Birthday! Very nice. The service was great and the food was excellent. It was quite busy for a Wednesday night. Dessert was included cause it was my birthday. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We have been dining at passion Fish since it opened in Reston & used to enjoy it very much . Unfortunately this time it really disappointed us . The food was terrible , the service very slow & we left not to repeat it again.
I’ve had many good experiences at Passion Fish, but something was off this time. My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary with our daughter. We had a good time and meal. But the service shocked me compared to recent visits. Main course took over an hour to arrive. And then the server was very slow with the check. When he took payment he disappeared for so long that I actually had to leave my wife and daughter to go pickup the dog from the sitter. Not ideal for a family celebration.
We ordered milk for our daughter and got apple juice. My wife’s wine took twenty minutes to arrive and only came after two reminders. When the main course finally arrived, it was improperly cooked (requested rare steak and got medium well). They took it back and fixed it. But everything combined to make the visit less then stellar. Two tables around us were seated after us and had their checks before us.
On the positive, the food was great and we love the atmosphere. Staff was at least cognizant to get my daughters food out quickly.
I really hope that this was a one off and that they aren’t getting complacent.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration dinner. They even printed the Birthday guests name on the menu & I made the reservation only 2 hours prior. Wonderful food & wonderful service.
This was our first visit and were drawn in by the menu. I was disappointed to be seated in the casual area adjacent to the bar instead of a proper table cloth service. It was still early and they could have easily accommodated us. There was some sporting event being followed by many people in the bar who were quite vocal, and this spoiled the ambience we had hoped for. But the service was prompt and attentive and our drinks were kept fresh without asking. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and we were pleased with our selections from the daily specials, Swordfish, which the waiter suggested we order blackened, and Maryland crab cakes with a choice of sauce. We split a simple green salad that had a very tasty vinaigrette dressing and green beans almomdine and asparagus as accompaniments. The food was good and everything was fresh and served without undue delay. Overall a good experience. Next time we’ll insist on a table in the regular dining room.
We celebrated my friend’s birthday with a Sunday Brunch. We had the best service. Vincent, our server, is always the highlight of our Passion Fish experience. He is friendly, professional and always makes great recommendations. Vincent, thank you for helping to make my friend’s special day extra special!
Amazing food and ambience.
Very nice place and we all enjoyed our meals. We will be back!
USED to be good, but not so much anymore. Food is not on par with where it was the years following its opening. Fish not as fresh and meaty, preparation sloppy. Service not good at all. Passion Fish I loved you, but everything seems to have suffered in the last year. Disapponting.
I would say our server made us feel at home. From then on food and service was excellent. We were celebrating our 21st Anniversary and I’m glad we decided to have it at PassionFish. Our server’s name was Matt. Great guy!!! Thank you and will be back. Hopefully you guys are still at RTC since a lot of restaurants are closing. Plus using the open table made it easy for me to reserve a table, unlike the last time we came, i was turned away cause we didn’t have a reservation. Thank you.
Best lunch I have had in a long tine!
Limited selection if you do not eat seafood. A little pricey. Got free dessert because it was my birthday.
The entire experience was exquisite. Happy Hour at the bar was a nice transition from work. Plenty of seating and very friendly patron, hey Cassandra. The food was well seasoned, appropriately prepared, and delivered with precision and timing.
Thanks for a great experience.
Mother’s Day !!
Everything was nice for Mother’s Day food was great
Food was great. Our server was great. Engaging Helpful and knowledgeable. I was hoping for mother’s day brunch but I guess our reservation was right at the cut off
The seafood crepe was fantastic! We had reservations for 2:15 and got seated right away. Our server was pleasant and very prompt. Would definitely go there again.
Great swordfish and organic salmon as well as great service
The amount of salt in the food was off the charts, ugh.
This was a totally fantastic experience. Matt was spot on with suggestions and assisting with the wine selection (1/2 Price Sundays - splurge!) - what we love is the prep on the fish. Both had Turkish Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly. No bread offered - nor needed. The meal was all of 5 stars - and in RESTON!
Our food was good, but I felt that it was overpriced. The whitefish spread was exceptional as were the little rolls. The sushi was good, but not amazing and very expensive. I did enjoy the oysters, but again, they were pricey. I had a gift card. I don't think I'd go back if I had to pay full price.
Great service! Great food! Definitely worth the visit! I
Wonderful service! Made a get-to-gather with a former work colleague, even more enjoyable! Brunch was a great value. Make sure to order the Beet Salad- delicious!
Excellent service and the food was delicious
