Excellent food would definitely go back to eat agai.
Our server was Paisley and she was great! We had the lobster tail(8oz) and it was excellent! WE WILL DEFINITELY ORDER IT AGAIN.

My first experience was delightful. The service is excellent. The food was absolutely amazing. If you love seafood; this is a great restaurant to try quality delicious entrees.
Service was good but food was very very disappointing. Flounder was dry as was the crab imperial. Even the baked potatoes were overcooked. And market price for King crab legs was $75. I can get the same thing at other restaurants for under $40.
By far one of the worst meals I've ever had. Ordered N.Y. strip steak that was barely half an inch thick and of Lone Star or Outback (chain restaurant) quality. My wife ordered tuna, which she ordered medium rare, and arrived well done, grey-colored and greasy. Although she tried to eat it, one taste revealed that it was either previously frozen or leftover from the night before. The vegetables, smothered in garlic, were also inedible. Our server was accommodating and tried to remedy the situation by offering another entree. She ordered a simple house salad with salmon. The very small salad with salmon arrived looking like nothing special, but edible. One taste again presented a frozen taste, which was proven correct when she put her fork into the center of the salmon, showing a totally frozen center. Horrible, overpriced, and nothing at all like the Doc's restaurant that once occupied this space and offered edible seafood. Never again.
I ordered the large lobster tail and it was over cooked and tough to cut.
Table was on casino floor, rather noisy. Shrimp cocktail was only 3 shrimp and was not fresh. Also had Steamed lobster tail with potatoes and corn. Corn was 3 very small pieces of cob and flavorless. Overall meal was disappointing.
This space used to be a very good seafood restaurant named Doc McGrogan's. It changed this year. The first thing I noticed was the change of the menu, much less adventurous with less variety. First the good: our waiter was a very attentive young man who deserves to work in a better restaurant. The Oysters Rockefeller were decent, not the best but tasty and they used huge oysters. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The hush puppies weren't crisp and came dusted with powdered sugar which my daughter did not like. The oyster stew was a recipe I did not care for. Plenty of large oysters but in a stock that was too thick and clogged with an excessive amount of potatoes which gave it an unsatisfying texture. My daughter had the king crab. It was overcooked and tasteless, and at $75 market price (my fault for not asking) a complete ripoff. My wife had salmon, it was slightly overcooked and bland. The worst were the mussels fra diavolo. The mussels themselves were small and tasteless. I have never had tasteless mussels before. They were in what can only be described as mock tomato sauce - bright orange and watery, with no hint of spice or pepper. They would have been better off opening a can of Campbell's tomato soup instead. It was so thin it would not even stick to the tiny forkful of spaghetti they seem to have tossed in as an after thought. The food was so bad I almost feel violated.
I ordered a dozen clams on the half shell for $14.95. The clams were so very small and not at all worth $1.40 each! If clams are going to be small than little neck clams inform the customer or drastically reduce the price.
My Bud Lite draft also tasted watered down...not at all the taste I previously got at the casino bar.
The bright spot on my meal was the fried shrimp. Large jumbo ship fried perfectly and were delicious.
Also our waitress provided excellent service!
Our first visit to Pearl Oyster Grill was Excellent! Food was delicious...all four people in my party enjoyed all they ordered, including soups, appetizers, entrees and sides. BUT, most outstanding was the wonderful service we received from our server (Pazly). My husband had a coughing spell and white bread helps him overcome it. Do not know where she got it but in short order he had sliced white bread in front of him!

Good food and great service! I enjoyed my birthday dinner with family and everyone was satisfied. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu offerings and treated me to a free birthday dessert. The food was tasty and excellently prepared by the cooking staff. This restaurant is my new “spot” for seafood in Dover!
It should be stated that it is in the casino!

The food was not worth the price, for a shrimp cocktail 3 medium shrimp which were ok. I ordered soda and in the tiniest glass , never came to refill. No bread or crackers,I ordered crab with my salad and at a premium price to add there was hardly any crab at all.
I ordered fish and chips. It was bland, greasy, and the breading was not fully cooked. It was disgusting. My husband’s meal was excellent. Mine - not. We will not go back again. Most the time our waitress kept forgetting we existed. You could tell we were an after thought all the way around. Not impressed at all.
MY WIFE AND I WENT TO THE PEARL OYSTER GRILL LAST SATURDAY NIGHT FOR MOTHERS DAY..I ORDERED THE CLAMS WITH THE DARK SHELL WITH A TOMATO SAUCE ,AND I THOUGHT IT WAS TERRIBLE. I WOULD NEVER ORDER THAT MEAL AGAIN . THE SAUCE WAS TERRIBLE, IT HAD A DISGUSTING TASTE TO IT CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE THE TASTE , BUT IT WAS TERRIBLE. I DID NOT EVEN FINISH THE SAUCE , THE CLAMS WERE OK. MY WIFE ORDERED THE SMALL CLAMS IN A WINE SAUCE, AND SHE SAID THEY OK.. AFTER FINISHING WE WENT TO PLAY AT THE CASINO, BUT HAD TO LEAVE AFTER A SHORT TIME BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL GOOD AFTER HAVING SUCH A TERRIBLE MEAL.. THE GRILL IN ITSELF WAS ALRIGHT....
Although in a noisy casino the property managed to be able to buffer the noise. The food choices excellent and prices reasonable
Food and staff were overall good. Three of our orders were messed up(out of 6). Drinks were good. Place has a nice feel and potential, but isn’t there yet.
The food was excellent although the portions were small. I bring groups with me on occasion.
I had birthday party for six. Seafood portions were small. I also wish there was an option for a full birthday cake.
The crab cakes were excellent mostly all crab. I would not recommend the hush puppies. I was used to southern hush puppies . There was no flavor and luke warm. The server was very friendly and professional.
We definitely will return to this restaurant.

This was our first time at this restaurant. We are residents of Delaware. The waitress Precious was wonderful considering she was the only one working at 4:30 pm when we had reservations. She said everyone else called in sick for the evening shift. The one thing I think should be looked at is the pricing for a substitution. I ordered the scallops and instead of fries I wanted a baked potato. I asked if there was an up charge and she said I had to pay full price of $4.95 for the potato. I had no problem with the
up charge but I do think that charging full price for a substitution is high. I realize there should be no substitutions but a potato change should be considered as always allowed particularly when some people are watching what they eat on a regular basis. We will return to eat there again.
Where I understand that this is more of an adult restaurant, I was disappointed that there were no children's menu or ability to modify entrees to a child portion. My husband and I felt that the food was just so so.
I ordered the clams casino for an appetizer and were dismayed to find them spicy hot when the menu did not indicate that they would be so. The stuffed shrimp entrée was good as were the side vegetables.
While the food was good it wasn't great. I don't mind paying $$$ for great food and great service, but this missed the mark. I really wanted this to be a place we could visit regularly. Don't think we'll be back.
The food and service were excellent. My chilean sea bass was outstanding! I especially loved the arugula greens with feta and grilled grapes that accompanied the entree. I will definitely eat there again!!!
We come on Friday nights for the $9.99 steamed shrimp which are delicious. The service is outstanding and we have always had an awesome server. They make sure we are happy and things are refilled if necessary. I do have to say some of the appetizers and other entrees are a bit more expensive then we can afford but we do enjoy the shrimp special. the noise comes with the territory being in a casino. We will be back again.
The waiter we had was very polite and informative. We had some special requests due to allergies, he accepted the changes, then came back to tell us the ingredients in the cocktail sauce that would have been fatal. The shrimp was also cooked with no additives for the same reason. Old Bay is not friendly for a person who loves seafood.
We asked to speak to the Chef, he came out to thank him for the attention to our meal and how exceptionally it was cooked.
Great Birthday meal!
The decor was pretty. That’s all I can really say, since I did not stay to eat, after being seated and ignored for ten minutes. The place was not busy, I had made a reservation and no one approached with so much as a glass of water, though there was plenty of staff moving around. I was forced to choose a star rating to continue to the comments section on this review. The food may be good, but with so little concern for a seated guest, I didn’t stay around to find out.
I have visited the Pearl Oyster Grill four times in the few months since they have opened. The first few times were OK. The food is kind of pricey but my husband and I found a few menu items we liked, and that we thought were a pretty good value. We especially liked the fried oyster appetizer and the wedge salad. On our most recent visit, we each ordered the oysters again, but were very disappointed to find that the serving was half the size it was previously, for the same $14.99 price. When I mentioned it to our server, she said, well that's what you get with oysters, sometimes they're big and sometimes they're little. Not a great answer and a little dismissive. A little while later, a manager came over and she had an entirely different story. She said this was just "something we're trying", and said she would give the kitchen my feedback. Then she started to take my plate away! I asked, what are you doing, and she said if I don't like the, she'll "take care of it". Nope, didn't ask her to take them away! So I have two takeaways from the experience. 1) Most of the menu items seem overpriced, so I'm bummed that the one thing that was a really good tasty value isn't anymore. And 2) the service aspect of my experience was really disappointing. Nobody said we're really sorry, let us get you more oysters to make it like the old serving just this one time, or we're really sorry, let me take that off your bill, or even just we're really sorry all by itself. Probably will stick to Frankie's.
Update: A manager called in March to apologize and to offer me a $60 dining credit after seeing my review. She asked me to call her back in April before we traveled to Dover, since credits must be issued in the month they will be used. Sounded good and I was grateful for the offer. When I called her back, her number was disconnected. New management? Can't keep staff? Either way, it's destiny - I'm sticking with Frankies'.

The food was very good, the price for food was good for some items and a little pricey for others. The nightly specials are very good for the price, especially the “peel and eat shrimp” on Friday’s. Overall the prices are good.
The food was not worth the cost. The stuffed mushrooms were terrible in appearance, taste, and quantity. Tasted like they were microwaved and set under a heat lamp. There were only 4 the size of a quarter on the plate and two looked like the top fell off. Soup only had flavor because of the salt content no texture. Calamari had other pieces of burnt fried food when served. I got clams dia frav. Clams were edible but I needed way more than the three spun forks of pasta for cost of the meal. The lobster appeared to be a left over from red lobster tough and cold. Asparagus tasted okay but I could gotten a better selection from a buffet. As I write this I’m thinking maybe that’s where all of the food was taken from before it was served. The service and staff was Aplus. Timothy was our server for Valentines and he was attentive and helpful. I should have made the issues known then, but I didn’t feel like complaining on that day.
