Warm space, friendly, delicious...a must go to whenever I’m in Boston.
Fantastic food! We love eating at your restaurant! Wish we lived closer than an 8 hour drive. The ratatouille is outstanding. The salmon too
The ambience , service was excellent . Very pleased to know they had their usual menu as none of us like turkey dinner . The food and the menu options were excellent we had oysters s great vegan soup salmon and steak with great fries . The fresh and hot bread was also excellent
The restaurant is bisected by the entrance to the apartments above- the restaurant entrance is to the right of that. Once inside, the space is split between bar and dining room. Both were quiet but not empty at lunchtime. Classic white table linens and attentive but not hovering service complimented a terrific Parisian omelette and short rib Croque Monsieur that were shared. Both were accompanied by delicious frites! I'll be back...
Service was excellent
Three of us had liver and onions and bacon
Favorite thing when we go there
As usual, great service, nice food and ambiance. Quiet enough to facilitate a conversation (a rarity nowadays).
Great little place, awesome food, outstanding service and made my service dog feel welcome. This will become a staple in our dining out experience
My friend and I had dinner at Petit Robert Bistro and it was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, the service was crisp, and the space is warm and welcoming. We both other the Pre Fixe Beaujolais Nouveau tasting menu for $45. From appetizers to dessert, we shared everything and had a lovely evening.
Classic French bistro with reliably good classic dishes.
This is gem! Highly recommend.
We love Petit Robert Bistro! We’ve been for brunch and dinner and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the food and staff are! Such a wonderful French find. Merci!
reliable, yummy brunch. Authentic food and a good pastry chef
We went for a birthday brunch celebration. Really everything was wonderful. The food was good, not outstanding but delicious and I would go back for more. It’s authentic French food, the service was nice and timely. Can only recommend!
I’ve gone to Petit Robert a number of times over several years when I visit Boston, so my thoughts should be understood in that context. This is a very nice neighborhood place to go for dinner. I wish it was in my own neighborhood. The food is not cutting edge; it’s “comfort food” French. Very good for coq au vin and the like. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their dinners and we could hear each other speaking at the table. They have a bar, but not a full bar - meaning you can’t pick your liquor brand if you want a cocktail. Minus a star for that. The wait staff is very attentive and personable.
Hit and miss tonight. Excellent lemon sole and Coquilles St. Jacques. Very good foie gras appetizer, onion soup and green salads. Not so good coq au vin and beef bourginion.
Outstanding food and ambience! Waitstaff was excellent and even called a cab for us. I would definitely return and recommend highly😜
Excellent food excellent wine list
Delightful neighborhood restaurant that very successfully recreates the ambience of a Parisian cafe. In summer months, the outdoor patio is outstanding but now the weather has cooled off one is confined to the rather stodgy interior. The food is very good indeed: we had the Beef Tartare followed by a Mushroom Risotto and Steak Frites. All dishes were well flavored although the presentation of the Tartare was a little amateurish. If it were a bit cheaper, I would unreservedly recommend this restaurant. In contrast to a lot of other South End French restaurants that are quite bad (looking at you Frenchie!) at least you can be assured of a good meal here even if the price is rather steep.
Definitely a good choice, don’t regret it. Everything was wonderful .
Excellent. We waited a long time but the hostess offered to come dessert. We had coffee and tea instead.,
Fabulous atmosphere, delicious food and great service! Would definitely go again.
Ignored and we were the only ones there. Foot was basic at best. Overpriced. Depressing on a beautiful Sunday.
I brought my mom here for a weekend visit to the city and she was obsessed (as was I!) The restaurant itself is quaint but lively. The service is great- they really balance leaving you alone to enjoy the food and conversation of the table while also checking in. We could enjoy a delicious charcuterie board without feeling rushed to order entrees. All the food especially the dessert- chocolate mousee and tarte tatin, was incredible. My mom raved about all night and the next day!
Slight delay to be seated, mediocre risotto (white, bland rice and mushrooms were nowhere to be found?), very crowded and tight. Two who ordered steak frites were happy with it. Good location.
Reliably excellent. We’ve been dining there for a decade at least. Menu is great
A great find. Would go again! Busy early evening...we booked for 6.30 and it was fairly crowded, but good service all the same.
We booked dinner before a show at the Huntington. Curtain was 7:30 so we were at the restaurant quite early. The food was excellent, but the service was sloppy. Water glasses not filled, no bread or fork for my husband’s cheese plate. Nevertheless, we will give it a second shot.
Wonderful cozy atmosphere and delicious food. The service is excellent
Local place great food service was great I can't wait to back next time I'm in Boston
Stumbled upon this local gem while visiting from out of town. Would return in a heartbeat!
We had a group of four celebrating a work achievement over lunch on a Friday. The waiter did a great job of letting us enjoy our conversation but got us focused on the order and the meal unfolded at a natural pace. Our table had two order the moules frites, plus the kale salade au saumon and an omelette Parisienne. Judging by the clean plates all around, the food was a bit hit. About a half dozen different parties (some on business, most with friends), all seemed to be having a similar experience. Never disappoints!
Fabulous food from top to bottom. The staff is warm and friendly and the venue has a welcoming and relaxed vibe. The pace of dining is extremely relaxed. I would have liked my entree a lot sooner because I overindulged on the delicious bread. This is my fault not the restaurant’s. Who can control themselves when everything is so delicious ?!!
Great as always, best food in the area
New Favorite Place to eat. Love the Eggs Benedict. :)
Delicious friendly neighborhoody as always. A go to fave
It was really lovely. The meals were perfect, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and all restaurant staff were friendly. I recommend to family, friends, and colleagues without hesitation.
Wonderful classic French bistro
This was my second time dining here
nice atmosphere. Excellent starters. Clave's liver way overdone. Coq au vin lacked deep wine-y flavor, overly smoked with bacon. Only the menu (and some wait staff) reminded me of France.
Wonderful meal at one of our favorite restaurants.
