Pinefish is a Washington Square neighborhood restaurant serving up innovative small plates and good vibrations. The boho-chic interior sets the mood for a unique dining experience that takes you back to the 70’s. Peter Dissin’s exceptional palate and modern vision are the inspiration behind the exceptional wine list, divine sauces and small plate selections at Pinefish.
Every day, including weekends, the Happy Hour at Pinefish is a local favorite for dollar oysters, clams, and steamed shrimp. In addition to the dollar specials, you will love the $4 & $5 small plate offerings paired with $5 wines, $5 martinis, mojitos and craft beers. Happy Hour daily 4:30 - 6:30.
All most delicious - interesting and well prepared - nice to have variety and also smaller portions!
Excellent as usial
Had a wonderful dinner gathering with 7 people in a relaxed environment where we could easily have conversations. We shared a variety of small plates entrees and desserts. Everything from brussels sprouts, roasted octopus, cauliflower, two kinds of fries, whole fresh fish, miso cod, fish stew, Oreo and lime desserts. Can’t even remember everything we ate and drank. We all enjoyed our visit and the delicious meal together.
We had a great time. Love the ambiance of this place. The food is outstanding!!! The server was a little slow and scattered, but he was nice. We will definitely be back!
Great Happy Hour! Good food!
Tall people, watch out for low-hanging chandeliers!
Great appetizers and dishes - delicious miso cod. Service was exceptional.
Tuna was amazing with food gross. The grilled octopus was equally tender and flavorful
Best happy hour in Philadelphia
Fun restaurant, good food, great happy hour menu. We made a meal of happy hour specials that was fun snd satisfying.
Wish the service were faster
Wonderful relaxing delicious inviting delightful and fun
Good and atmosphere was amazing. I'm definitely coming back!!!
Brunch was fantastic and the ambiance is super charming. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. They have all you can eat pancakes for $11, and they are good fluffy pancakes. I had the crab cake eggs benedict and it was perfection.
Food was very good. Serivce was lacking - long time between each dish (20 mins) which made it awkward to dine.
I would but I would also let them know they have to be specific as to when they want certain foods served together. For example, we received what we considered our side dishes to our entrees way before we were served our entrees. Therefore, we ate the sides before our entrees. We don't know if that is just the way you do things or if there was a problem with our order, etc. Most people do like their sides with their main meal. The food was very good but it was noisy so much so that sometimes we could not hear our waiter....maybe that was the issue with the food service.
Pros: Great artisitcal ambience, food menu, and drinking menu. The food was delisious and it was portioned well (Crab Cake, Garlic Shrimp, Filet Mignon of Tuna, and Hamburger).
Con's: Small menu selection.
Personal Con: Our waitress was a little fast and did not explain the menu. We were new to the restaurant and she wanted to take our full order (soup, appetizer, entree) without explaining to us whats the soup of the day (we had to ask) etc. She was mannerly, but a little contradicting, because she had a dry personality and her facial expression were unprofessional (eye rolling) etc.
May have been because it was a Sunday night
Average food, we ordered happy hour items that can only be served at happy hour. The mussels and oysters were extremely small even for a dollar. I’ve eaten much larger $1 Happy Hour oysters. The $1 shrimp on the other hand were a nice size well worth $1 the Prosecco was also worth $5. The service was strange somewhat unorganized. This experience would not encourage me to order from the main menu.
Food and service was great my only issue was waiting 45 minutes for a our table when we had a reservation
I had a very pleasant dining experience .
The food pretty good. Unfortunately the service was lacking.
Absolutely love Pinefish. Quintessential Philly, great ambiance, incredible food and so much fun. A local’s place and one that all seafood lovers should check out.
I had an amazing time at pinefish. It was my first time, along with the six other ladies I brought with me. Food was amazing! Can’t wait to return.
Staff worked with us to get us out in time for a show
The brussel sprouts and tuna tartare with fois gras were both amazing!
All of the seafood was fresh and delicious
Amazing happy hour
After we shared small plates as well which were also delicious
Such a pretty place
I was really looking forward to eating there. Previous visits have been very good. The food was not up to the standards I have appreciated in my previous visits. Also, It appeared the server forgot to put in part of the order. Ruined the experience.
Service was great, but dishes and glasses were not properly cleaned and second appetizer arrived with a hair (I’m bald!) visible under their poor lighting. Waited for a new dish but nothing comped to Would not recommend due to sanitary conditions vs what you’re paying for. Also, despite sanitary concerns wine was mediocre at best and $50+/btl
Awesome service & Food, bathroom could use an update and good cleaning!
Exceptional food, service and ambience. Depending on time of reservation, and who you are seated next to, watch out for noise level!
Food was very good. Had the Miso Cod, which was delicious!! I think this is one of the few times we have dined here not during Happy Hour, they have the best food options for HH. Will be back again.
We had high hopes and were really disappointed in this restaurant. It started when our wine choice, a Rose from Provence, wasn't available and a tasteless California wine was the substitute. The menu was uninspired and we chose the crab cakes and the surf and turf. Both were just so-so.
The service was prompt and pleasant, as was the eclectic space, but at $120 for dinner for 2, including tip, not worth it.
This was my first visit to Pinefish for brunch, but it will not be my last. Also plan to come back to check out their happy hour & dinner. Great service and menu!
Great brunch! Really enjoyed the meal, wouldn't have known without seeing an ad on instagram.
Very sweet place for dinner. Food excellent. We had a delicious new wine. The waiter was very helpful and knowable. The desert was not fantastic but it was good. The slice of a tree tabletops are beautiful but a little bowed which caused a problem. My oblong plate which looked beautiful with the food didn't sit flat on the table so the plate rocked back and forth whenever I used a knife and fork. Also the restaurant was fairly empty but we were seated right against another couple which made conversation a little awkward. We will definitely go back. The food was worth. Chandeliers are fab!
The most creatively flavored seafood dishes I’ve ever tasted! And a dessert menu of items made fresh and fabulously in the house.
First i wasn’t aware of the other dining room on the other side of the restaurant! Awesome. My friends trickled in but that’s ok, our server was accommodating and understanding and we ordered a ton of apps and shared until our party has fully arrived.
The star of the show was the trout croquettes!!! I ordered at least 3 servings of them !! They are the best I’ve ever had !! Through out happy hour which is 4:30 -6:30 contains all seafood - from $1 oysters , clams, crab balls (not $1) etc... The entire menu is well thought out and consistently delish!
Went for our anniversary. Love love love. Excellent seafood choice!
The happy hour deals and good were great! I would definitely recommend the crab balls! The regular dishes are a bit overpriced and the scallops were extremely salty.
