The staff here is amazing,so eager to please. We especially enjoyed talking to the manager, who made us two delicious martinis.
We also enjoyed our river view table and a yummy dinner with the BEST ice cream..you must have it!
Excellent Italian food. Try the Jenny Pizza!
Service was very good at the restaurant. The waiting staff there were all very attentive and welcoming. What let the restaurant down was the food. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's just nothing exciting - one could easily go to any chain restaurant and have the same quality of food. The real disappointment (in respect of the food) was the Calamari and Monkfish, simply fried with no due care to the poor calamari and the poor monkfish.
Overall, I am not dissatisfied but definitely not wowed.
Fabulous location beside Pulteney Bridge with views of the Weir. Great service and excellent food. Recommend the seafood pasta. Definitely worth a visit.
This was our first visit to Ponte Vecchio and will definitley be returning, I think we've found our new favourite restaurant in Bath. First we were greeted by an old friend from our previous favourite eatery which sadly closed earlier this year, it was great to be remembered with such a warm friendly greeting. Our table near the window was perfect to look out over the water and watch the world go by. We were talked helpfully through the menu and our food was really good, there are many things on the menu that we want to try so have our next visit planned in. Thankyou
This was our first stop on a weekend away for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and good portion sizes and they had a live band playing music in the background. I would definitely recommend giving Ponte Vecchio a try.
(Parking was tricky though so I'd aim to get there earlier than your booking)
Good food, cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and pleasant live music.
Great restaurant with great food and ambience!
Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
I wouldn't come here again. The food was burnt and the atmosphere was very 'tacky'. All in all we had a good time anyway because of our general mood but I wouldn't recommend it. The Waiters were lovely however when asking about the menu they struggled to describe some contents so asked the chef who also turned out to be wrong.
Great food and service - would thoroughly recommend.
Nice location and fairly good Italian food. Atmosphere was a little cold but might be better if busier.
Live music was a lovely addition to the already chilled and romantic vibes. The waiting staff to diners ratio was very generous, and they were welcoming and helpful. The food was brilliant authentic Italian cuisine. The addition of free limoncello was a great end to the meal. Overall a great experience (just don't buy the cheap wine!).
Lovely lunch here for a special occasion with my mother.
I wouldn't have found this great little spot without Open Table - and I wouldn't have found it on the day without my iPhone and a passing local! There are two routes: an ancient staircase from the street above, or zig-zagging down and under the road, past wheelie bins and various back doors, to emerge into the lovely little green space overlooking the river.
We were made very welcome on arrival and looked after by our waiter throughout. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.
We shared two starters: mozzarella and tomatoes and calamari - both were fine.
For mains, my mother's fish was pronounced 'very good' and my stuffed melanzane was enough for two! Stuffed with minced chicken and cheese, it was very filling.
Bill of just over £60 for two with prosecco and a glass of house wine was reasonable.
Bath has no shortage of restaurants, from all the chains to vibrant local places, from budget to top dollar; some I've found great, others average. Some have great views of the city but many don't.
Really pleased to have found Ponte Vecchio as it's a lovely spot to pause and admire the view, with good food and service.
What a special find in a special location! Great food and super wine list and the service was impeccable. Our lovely manager got us a balcony table and we loved the ambiance of listening to the water outside. The Italian food was outstanding - from pasta to fish and everything else including dessert. We could not have been more pleased. !!!
A most enjoyable experience. Courteous and helpful staff and service. Gluten free options very good.
Gorgeous setting, delicious authentic food. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food in a fantastic setting overlooking the weir
A wonderful relaxed italian with a lovely ambiance. The food was exceptional, and priced very reasonably. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.
Wonderful restaurant. Our party of six on Friday were delighted. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, with good sized portions. It was all fresh seasonal produce. There was barely a wait for food, and the service was faultless, friendly attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble and we didnt even need to refill our own glasses, a waiter was always there pouring before we had even had chance to reach for the bottle. Live band created a nice atmosphere and the restaurant itself was immaculate and well maintained. Very Highly recommended!
Wonderful meal. Starters we had tuna fried balls (can't remember the Italian name) but these were exceptional. I then had monk fish and husband had steak. Both excellent. We eat out a lot but this food was truly fabulous. Not a cheap evening but worth the money We went after reading other reviews and Will definitely visit again. We went on a Tuesday so was quiet with little going on but I expect more atmosphere if we went on the weekend. Anyway truly lovely evening. Many thanks
Very nice meal, but quiet when we were there. So a bit rushed!
Excellent atmosphere and service ,staff are helpful and friendly .
Food was out of this world .
Shall be visiting again
Jazz band were awesome, food to a great standard and very attentive staff. Would recommend for sure
I booked the restaurant before going to the rugby, the restaurant is adjacent to the ground which was very handy. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food is very good, I didn't have the steak but one of our party did and it was excellent. The menu provides plenty of variety with pizza, pasta and mains.
Disappointed with choice on menu ,also mains expensive especially lasagne didn't come with any salad or garlic bread also it wasn't very hot .music wasn't to my taste .staff friendly, puddings delicious husband enjoyed seafood pasta. lacking ambience maybe because it was Sunday evening.
Excellent service and food was really good, nice location and very affordable prices would defiantly go again
We booked purely as a venue for a lunch stop during mid-December Christmas shopping. The shortlist was small as there weren't many options.
The location is a little walk over Pulteney Bridge and down the steps to the riverside. It must be a great place for people watching in the summer. In December there were just a couple of hardy souls and a few ducks.
The restaurant was very quiet; it maybe much more of an evening venue than a lunch one. There is a cocktail bar on the ground floor and the restaurant is on the first floor. In warmer months there is also a terrace.
The food was uniformly excellent and was authentic Italian cooking. Baked aubergine starter was sublime. For main course the pork escalopes were better; absolutely delicious. To round the meal off a great Tiramisu (not the best ever but certainly 9/10) and a coffee.
The waiter, Gianluca, was excellent. The hard to achieve mix of attentiveness without being over-bearing.
Well worth it!
It was a busy Sat night in Bath during the Christmas market but all the staff were friendly and looked after the six us very well. If it hadn't been for a misunderstanding over one alcoholic drink, served in place of a 'non alcoholic' drink to a 'designated driver', service would have been rated as exceptional. As it was, three attempts were made to check the drink, but it was eventually satisfactorily sorted. It was obviously one of those 50-50 errors. Nothing could have spoilt the evening though, because the food was universally declared wonderful. A real Italian treat.
If we lived closer, it would become a regular haunt. The total bill for 6, including drinks and service came to approx £240, and was worth absolutely every penny.
The ambience was lovely too. The bar downstairs was extremely lively and obviously popular.
The restaurant is up some stairs, and anyone with walking difficulties would be advised to check with the restaurant, to see whether there is another more accessible route.,
Really lovely restaurant right next to the weir! Wonderful food and excellent service! Amazing tiramisu too!
Very friendly staff, very professional and welcoming. The food was first class.
This was a family anniversary dinner,we chose this because my wife and I had visited before. The booking was for 7 people changed to 9 at very short notice. The restaurant was very busy and was concerned we may have problems, not at all .The table we had was superb ,a large oval shaped table that every one could see and talk to each other. The food was excellent and the waiters were very friendly, although very busy.My granddaughter had arranged secretly for an anniversary cake to be place on the table after the sweet course this was brought in accompanied by a waiter playing an accordion A very pleasant surprise from the staff on a very busy evening Can recommend to any one for superb Italian food
We had a lovely meal on a Saturday night - not over busy, nearly a full dining room. Quite pricey but guessing thats because of the location.
We booked although it turned out not necessary as it was a very quiet cooler Monday evening, after a glorious warm Sunday. The service was therefore very good with few diners. The food was well prepared and just the right amount and good wine list. Coffee was also very good.
Excellent restaurant, great location
I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary and it was a great experience! As soon as we got there we were greeted with a lovely authentic Italian welcome, we were then taken to our table which gave us a beautiful view of the river and the wear! The service was brilliant and the food was better! We also didn't have to wait very long for our food which made a pleasant change to some restaurants we've been to! Everyone who worked there was really lovely and polite.
We had our first meal here in Bath here and were delighted to have found such a lovely restaurant ! We were given a warm welcome and our waiter had a great deal of knowledge about the food and wines. We had a very nice conversation with him and the rest of the staff were just lovely. We will definitely go back there again, as the food and wine and the service were a real delight from start to finish!.
We had a family meal and it was wonderful, the staff were very friendly and as a family of vegetarians we didn't have much bother about finding something to eat!
Authentic Italian cuisine served in an airy and light restaurant looking out over the river. Friendly staff offering good service.
Excellent Italian food with a great ambience. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Bath.
As a manager of an italian resturant I found the food was overcooked and not that nice. The service was adiquate and the resturant itself was very beautiful.
