Awesome 10/10 experience! As always! Thanks Present Co!
The entire experience was excellent, my date said that this was the first time he’s had a perfect bite with the Tartine of Zucchini. Definitely would recommend this dish, it was delicious. All dishes were prepared beautifully and tasted phenomenal. I will definitely be back.
I am never disappointed When I come here.
Love this place.
Thank you Tom and Jeff and staff
Have not been back since this winter but, I saw the summer menu and had to come. I was not disappointed. Eggplant appetizer was amazing and the seared scallop and duck breast were perfectly prepared. Thanks for another great meal!!!!
Amazing meal start to finish. I ordered the 5 course chefs’ tasting menu with wine pairings, and my wife ordered 3 course prize fixe, plus a side. Having the flexibility to not have to both order the tasting menu was very nice and allowed us to try a number of different items because it all sounded so great. The first course I got the Eggplant “caviar” and while it was not the prettiest to look at, it was one of the best things I ever tasted. Other highlights were the pesto wrapped lamb, cooked to perfection, the tomato salad with jack cheese croutons and the deep fried yellowfin with smashed leeks and Yukon gold potatoes. The rest of the dishes were also very good. Only one dish seemed to miss the mark, that was the bass with duck confit, which just seemed to be lacking seasoning, but really nice presentation and cooking of the bass itself. The venue itself was rustic but very clean, and service was exceptional as well. We will certainly be back, and would like to get a seat at the kitchen counter to see everything being made.
Awesome food and service. The owner also enjoys coming to tables and checking on dining experience.
I dined at Present Co. this past Saturday with my out of town guests. All were impressed with the quality of the food and the size of the portions considering it was a “tasting” menu. The one hiccup we experienced was that the sliding door covering one of the windows behind our table fell off the track and almost took out several of our guests sitting in front of it. It was embarrassing, especially considering I was hosting the dinner for visitors. A few waiters ran to the rescue and were able to put the door back on the track before any damage was caused to the table, open bottles of wine, or more importantly, ourselves!
chef Jeff is as talented as they come. Tom is runs the restaurant flawlessly. We have had dinner here several times and have always enjoyed
I took my husband here for his birthday. It was our first visit. Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner who introduced himself and told us about how we could stroll around the property and see the riverwalk. As far as the decor,I would have loved to take home one of the comfortable plush red chairs. I felt relaxed and that I knew we were in for an experience. The food left me speechless, it was outstanding! Our only criticism was that there was 2 wait staff in the dining area and I was far more impressed with the waitress that had the other tables. She was much more attentive to her tables and really tried to uncover the customers desires for their meal and drinks. Our waiter told us the portions were small and they weren’t. My salad was big enough for a meal and so was my second course. I would highly recommend if you love fresh farm to table where you are not rushed and you want an experience.
Perfect for a special occasion. Inventive menu with lots of Vietnamese notes. Perfect portion sizes. Excellent and warm service. Loved it!
This is a brilliant restaurant with extraordinary food in a lovely setting.
Everything was very nice, but the music was very loud. Had to speak very loud to my dining partner who was only about two feet away. We asked to have it lowered ,to no avail. Jerry B
Fabulous from top to bottom. Attentive service. Personal touch. Beyond delicious food. Creative. Your restaurant truly has personality!
Wow wow wow. Amazing food, great service, and fantastic ambiance. We did the Chef's Tasting Menu with wine pairings - definitely a great value and amazing meal! The first three dishes of the chef's tasting menu consisted of food I would generally dislike, and somehow they transformed it into something I would crave every day. The food was creative and well executed. The wait staff was very attentive, and the chef even delivered two or three of our dishes himself. While we were seated at a table, we could still see a bit of what the chef and his team were doing in the open kitchen, which added to the experience. Our reservation was at 5:30pm and we finished a little after 7pm at a natural pace. Nothing felt delayed, nothing felt rushed. The portion sizes were good, as I ended up VERY full and my husband left satisfied too. Overall a perfect evening.
Each course was well thought out and everything was nicely balanced. Enjoyed the Asian fusion of many of the dishes. Lychee dessert was delicious. Staff was attentive and kind. Love the bar area, what a treat to be able to watch the masters work!
We did the chefs tasting with wine pairing. Cannot go wrong with wine pairing. Many generous pours of greatly paired wines. The food was a tail of high highs and not so great lows. The started were out of this worked. Coconut and beat soup - really great. Eggplant rolltini - good bit missinfcrispy toast points or something. Zucchini appetizer - out of this world. Then - buttermilk chicken - not good. At all. A little chicken wing that was ok, the rest was under seasoned and not good. Some sticky rice. Not good. Next - all fish was good, except duck confit was cold and not good. Lamb was very good. Scallops were very good. Steak and short rib very good. Dick breast very good. Stick with those - can’t disappoint. Dessert was original and good - but no chocolate, so if you’re into that, sorry. Service was great. For the price it wants to better, but just misses the mark.
Every time we dine at present company we totally enjoy our experience
The food is always different and delicious
It has become our special dining experience
Highly recommend a visit
Amazing food people and service . Never disappoints . Hands down best restaurant in the state !!
Excellent food, excellent restaurant.
We had 2 three course meals. Just 2 remarks to improve quality and reach perfection!
Starter with aubergine caviar should have been served with more chill and both wines were served not cold enough. The red was well over the 70’s.
Noise level at bit too high (restaurant was packed)
Food was outstanding ! It was an extremely hot day and the a/c in the space had a hard time cooling down the restaurant.
Consistently well-executed creative menu. Service is friendly and warm.
Absolutely phenomenal, from the food to the service to the ambiance. Go for the experience, and you'll leave there incredibly satisfied
One of the best meals I’ve had in Connecticut and I’ve lived here 35 years.
Food was great. We were seated at the last open table for our reservation which was directly beneath a dripping air conditioning conduit. Made it very hard for us to enjoy our time getting intermittently rained on.
Fabulous birthday dinner for our daughter. Food was creative and delicious. The 3 course menu was timed perfectly and so was the service. Great night out.
Fabulous meal and service. Ordered off the three course menu. Had a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.Had the coconut and beet cold soup(outstanding), eggplant and goat cheese, cartelized scallops, striped bass, duck and lamb loin. All outstanding. Split a tera cotta desert. The only mild complaint I would have is that$8for a large which I thought was ridiculous. One of the best meals we have had in a while and we consider ourselves foodies.
We had a very nice meal with friends. The food was excellent and artfully served. The fried chicken was tasty but wings are hard to eat and cheap for the asking price. The wait staff was excellent and there was a strong team effort shown as they were down a chef. It is very noisy.
We had a spectacular dining experience once again. The menu was incredible, very difficult to narrow down amongst a stellar lineup, but our server offered some recommendations of her favorites, and they matched what we considering. Summer menu is s nothing short of amazing, food was delicious (zucchini and eggplant starters, bass and crab cake seconds, 2 duo of beefs plus a lamb and the panna cotta and lychee desserts). Service was professional and offered great advice, overall excellent. We’re trying to figure out when we can both get back there for another taste of the current menu!
Great dining experience. The staff was friendly, engaging and the food was amazing.
Creative and perfectly executed menu. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and amiable. Wonderful space.
We celebrated my 35th birthday at Present Company and it was spectacular! We sat at the counter, which was so much fun. The chefs were friendly and it was neat to watch them make all the dishes. They were debuting the summer menu and we liked everything we ordered! The beef dish and the lamb dish were highlights for our meal but everything was delicious. The service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Present Company and plan to return anytime we are in town!
Best spot I have been to in the Hartford area. It could compete against anything in New York. A real win. Amazing food, terrific service.
My only knock, and it is truly minor, is that the music could have been just a notch lower.
I went two nights in a row, the first was so good. And I can't wait to go back.
Present Company continues to deliver outstanding cuisine and top of the line service. It is a warm, personable and inviting ambiance that always feels welcoming and relaxed. The menu is always outstanding and consistently offers unique seasonal choices. It is our favorite restaurant!
The food was spectacular! Love the menu (and love that it changes throughout the year). Love that Chef Jeff pays homage to his mom with a few of her specialities on the menu. What a cool idea (and delicious too!) And the plating is gorgeous. So much fun to watch the magic in the kitchen happen. What a wonderful and fun evening as always. Thank you Chef Jeff, Tom, Ethan, Sadie, Savannah and the rest of the team. You all rock!!
Have been to Present Company several times now, and it is probably my favorite restaurant. It was the first night revealing their summer menu, so they had a special 4 course meal with wine pairings for $65. They had two options for each course, so my girlfriend and I got both options in each course and shared, and we were not disappointed as the food was fantastic (as it always is). I would absolutely refer to a friend, have brought several friends there when they have come to visit, and I will definitely go back to eat there in the future.
I love this restaurant and the chef. Very inventive menu. Just wish I lived closer but it is worth the trip
Wonderful time and experience!
Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed sitting at the open kitchen bar and watching the chefs create visually stunning dishes with flavors to match. Very unique and creative dishes. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly!
The food was phenomenal. delicious and imaginatively prepared. i particularly liked the ingenuity of the French onion tart and the mousse of the strawberry dessert. Classic fare interpreted and updated to perfection. A 'moveable feast,' by any standards.
We always love Present Company. We tried the new Vietnamese inspired tasting menu. It was so fresh, creative and inspired.
