   Fantastic meal. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Service by the young staff was excellent. Nothing was too much bother for them. Starters was the Duck Pastrami and Scallops followed by the pan fried Hake and Chicken Roulade. Pudding was the apple terrine and the ginger and carrot cake. Can't wait until they change the menu in a few weeks so we can go back again.

   Fabulous menu choices with excellent service from knowledgeable staff. Local seasonal produce beautifully prepared and served. The scallops starter was perfectly prepared and served on scallop shells - first class. Main of hake was superb and the almond butter sauce was a great accompaniment. The white chocolate lava cake was light and fluffy and rounded off the meal nicely. Great food, fab wine and cocktails and a lovely atmosphere - great place to dine

   Great local produce cooked to perfection and served with a smile. First time at Rae's and was pleasantly surprised. There is a small selection of food and beverages with a focus on local suppliers. We will definitely be back

   Great food but the styling for night time dining needs to be looked at. It still feels very much like a cafe (with basic wipe clean tables etc) and needs to be softened to feel more like fine dining. The lighting is equally too bright for this reason so the spots could be turned off at night perhaps? The young waiter was very attentive but perhaps an old faded t-shirt/jeans isn’t the right attire? It’s all about creating the right atmosphere, ambience and experience to encourage repeat visits. The food was good though but the overall package is lacking.

   Honestly the best meal we’ve had out for a very long time, waitresses explained some of the foods really well, we will definitely be back to try menus in the future

   Peaceful and delicious food. Our first visit to Rae’s for lunch and we were very happy with the food and service - excellent value for money too! We enjoyed a soup and sandwich each, which was sourced from local suppliers. A real asset to Montrose and we shall be back in the near future for sure.

    I was looking forward to try Rae’a but unfortunately was in Montrose during the days they are closed. We still managed to squeeze in a lunch and it was really nice although the dinner menu looks more exciting! The vegetarian sandwich was well balanced and I particularly enjoyed the selection of local drinks. Regarding the meat options, my companion has some slight comment regarding seasoning/cooking preferences but overall enjoyed the food! I would definitely recommend, I really enjoyed the service and such a nice place to eat in Montrose!

    Great service and amazing quality food, I had wild mushroom gnocchi which was beautiful and my fiance had venison hotpot. Empty plates for all 3 courses and the bill was under £70 which was great value. Would definitely dine here again!

    It was our first time at their wine tasting nights. I have to say it was superb. The value was unbelievable, so much so I think they need to increase the price - I would happily pay more. The food was really really good and complimented the wine so well. The information about the wine was really interesting too. Will definitely be going back...thats if we manage to get a space as it will be in high demand.

    Rae’s is fantastic! My husband and I were absolutely blown away by the quality of everything we had at Rae’s. Tasty cocktails, delicious food and the service is second to none! We will definitely be back soon 🥰

    This was my first time having dinner at Rae’s and it was fantastic. I took my mum for a birthday meal and everything was amazing. The staff were attentive but not over bearing, the food was brilliant and the cocktails were lovely

    We went to Rae's last night for dinner. What a great place. The food is all locally sourced and foraged. My wife had the Plaice Blinis and the Game Ravioli, I had the Venison to start and the Game Ravioli. Both absolutely excellent. They have a great selection of wines, and the Plum Cocktail is worth a visit on its own. The service was first-class, as good as any service you get in a top restaurant in London. This is a great addition to the restaurants in Montrose and offers something different at a reasonable cost.

    This was our fourth or maybe fifth visit for an evening meal and the first with the new menu. The food was excellent and stall lovely. It was busy but the noise level was fine. Looking forward to our next meal

    Fabulous service and meal at Rae's - local produce beautifully cooked and presented. The new Autumn Menu has a lovely choice of game, fish and vegetarian options for starters and mains. The dessert menu choices made it difficult to choose just one. Most enjoyable evening with great food, wine and cocktails. Excellent value for money and quality meals. Very good service. If you haven't eaten here then I would thoroughly recommend a visit.
