The food was Ralph’s standard, excellent!
The service was abysmal. After 20 minutes we asked the bus person to find us a server. An argument then ensued between the 3 wait staff as to whose table we were. Once a server was established we saw her twice. Her station was in a different part of the room and we were invisible. The bus person deserved the tip not her.
Celebrating a friend’s birthday. Had a terrific meal. Wait staff was attentive. We will be back.
Good food, good service, a very nice place although like most restaurants it was pretty noisy
Poor excuse for an Italian restaurant. Food was not flavorful. I ordered the famous meatballs and they were bland. My chicken Marsala came out cold and then was reheated and tasted like food you get at a bad wedding reception.
I was very disappointed. I was highly looking forward to the meal, because of things I've heard. And was drastically underwhelmed. Food was average, at best. The atmosphere was awful, very cold. The only good thing I can say is that our waitress was great.
Decent overall. The atmosphere needs some help, very poor lighting decor.
The best mussels red and veal parm in Philly. Period!
I had the veal Parm and it was overcooked. I was very surprised because I’ve had it many times in the past and that usually delicious
Food was exceptional!!! Service was ok. A bit slow to get started but ok once we ordered.
We've been to Ralph's many times over the years but hadn't been there for a while.
We were very disappointed. The food was OK? We ordered the same dishes we have ordered
many times and the quality was not the same. It seems like they have changed ownership
and it really shows.
We had a very nice dinner at Ralph’s. The food was really good- we had a variety of chicken and veal dishes and all were well prepared. The calamari and roasted pepper appetizers were delicious! Our waiter Tony was great. He spaced the meal out nicely, was attentive and helpful. There was a singer in the bar, which made the dining experience extra enjoyable.
Wait staff was very good and food was great. Not quite like the original Ralph’s but still pretty awesome.
Delicious authentic South Philly Italian food in our own back yard. Superb service and attentiveness by Albert, John, Ryan and many others. A neighborhood gem that should not be missed!
New Years Eve
We love going to Ralph’s of South Philly each year for New Year Eve dinner. We’re never disappointed. The food was excellent and our server, Anthony, was great. Our hostess, Nicole, was also a pleasure to to talk to!
Excellent bar service. We have come several times. Stopped on way in and way out this time and we are not big drinkers. Just comfortable.
Good food and drink. It would be even better if they were to incorporate some more of the specialties from their wonderful original South Philadelphia location ! This spot would be a good place to also include a little piano lounge .
I was really disappointed with my meal. The sauce on my meal tasted like something from a jar. For a basic dish like fettuccine Alfredo, Ive had much better at less expensive venues. And at this price point, I would have expected freshly grated cheese, not dry cheese from jar.
Not worth the time and money spent.
Great night. They had a live singer and the food and drinks were excellent.
Great live music on Friday nights. Liked the whole overall appearance of this place clean and atmosphere was very appealing. Servers were attentive and took time with you to help you decide. We started with the antipasto platter, red and white wine, shrimp scampi and chicken Parmesan was delicious. Finished dinner then headed to bar enjoy live music. Will go back for sure.
Overall it was good. Food was fine. Service was average. Atmosphere not what you would expect for a classic Italian restaurant, however live singer was very good. A little confusing to find in hotel lobby
Huge disappointment. I must have read reviews for the south Philly location as this place was a joke. First of all, it’s located in a hotel....and what appeared to be a tired one at that. Ambience is zero as from where I sat I looked at a hotel room divider (the ones they use to separate event halls). There is barely anything on the walls distinguishing this as any kind of restaurant, much less The Ralph’s of south Philly. I felt like I was eating dinner at a Holiday Inn. The food was way overpriced and quality so-so. The appetizer, peppers, was thrown onto a plate, and the “cheese” was cubed, like you get at the Acme, with only a few pieces at that. Bread was cold. Wait staff - do they work for the hotel? While trying to be nice they have no proper training and kept trying to take food away before it was finished. They also insisted on offering coffee while we were still trying to enjoy our wine (again, they were pleasant, but clearly have no sense of how to provide service). Meal was ok but nothing of note. Will not be going back.
1st visit to Ralph's KOP location. It was as good as the original without driving into the city. I'll be going back soon!
Xmas Eve dinner with my lady
GPS and directions were a little tricky - Once you get there it is awesome. Ask for Jason and Anthony, and you will have superb service. Everything was outstanding! The Salmon special was spectacular, Calamari made to our specification, Chicken Parm was a real treat for comfort food, etc.
Amazing food from appetizers to desert
Really excellent meal! The bucatini with shrimp is fantastic! We had live music for our dinner and the singer reminded us of Frank Sinatra. My son had chicken parm - also excellent! Husband had the fettuccine alfredo. Our waiter was very attentive, and just adorable as he came from South Philly. I don't usually like restaurants in hotels, but this is an exception. We will definitely be back despite knowing a number of small authentic Italian restaurants in the area. Ralph's is doing a lot right!
An ok experience and nothing exceptional. If you’re into food presentation this is not a place for you. Decent hearty food some quite good like eggplant parm, chicken Sicilian, but salads were weak and way overdressed. My arugula salad was the worst I’ve had in decades and the strawberry balsamic was awful...should have sent it back. Bread so standard. Service ok. Deserts were quite good.
We were seated close to the kitchen so the ambiance wasn't as intimate as we would have wanted but our server was great! Food was good too! Loved the bruschetta starter and wine from Sicily!
My chicken parmigiana & manicotti w meatballs were beyond delicious! I did share this with mom & ate almost everything. Definitely a place to go for a great meal. Large portions!
I have eaten at Ralph's a couple of times before and had a good experience. This time, however, we had to wait at least 20 minutes passed out reservation time to be seated. It then took a very long time for drinks, then taking our order etc. We were one of the last to leave the restaurant near 11pm. Part of our party had to leave bc their babysitters had a long drive. It wasn't the fun celebration we were hoping for.
Food was awesome. Took home extras for wife and myself. Waitress was a bit off but there was a young guy that floated around and picked up the slack. He swooped in for our plates and bring boxes for food and took our dessert order to boot. He said the chocolate cake was great. It truly was. Prices were a bit much compared to southern Chester county but with extra food it was overall a good night
Wonderful. Food was so good. Love that you don’t have to drive and park in the City.
This was an odd situation for sure. I read the reviews and ratings prior to booking this restaurant and thought I was picking a home run for a business lunch. What I didn't expect was that a) it's in a Sheraton Hotel - so it took us and our guests a minute to figure that out b)the lunch menu was pretty limited c)our server was less than interested in us. The food was ok but very basic. Pasta was way beyond aldente, was mushy and broke on your fork as you twirled it. Plating was sloppy. Based on the reviews, I was surprised. Fortunately, the food tasted fine even though it looked like my child plated it. If you are going for a meal after shopping at KoP mall, then it's fine but for a business lunch or special occasion, I'd skip it.
Service is phenomenal -- best server : Anthony; best host : Ryan.
Both are real assets to the restaurant. Food is also wonderful....great variety on menu. This restaurant is a great find anywhere...let alone in a hotel! We eat here ...very often!
Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
We had a 5:45PM reservation and were seated right away. Service overall was pretty good. The waiter knew the menu and made some good recommendations. We had the eggplant / chicken (can't recall the Italian name) which was very tasty. The drink service was a bit slow. One of our diners requested a beer and had to ask twice after about 10 minutes of waiting. Also, he didn't get a soda he requested at all. Small issue but didn't detract from the overall dining experience.
The table support staff was helpful in bringing bread whenever asked.I was a bit surprised that when the Caesar salads were brought that they didn't have fresh ground pepper to serve with it. For a restaurant like this, I would have expected it.
We ordered cheesecake for dessert which was really good. The desserts are big enough for 2.
If you are making a reservation, request a table. The booth seating is very low and the ladies needed to sit on their coats to sit a little bit higher.
I've dined at the original in South Philly several years ago. I would be inclined to try there again to compare.
We had an amazing time. Jason was the best!! Can’t wait to go back! So nice and welcoming!
Food was good, but not great. Not sure if I would go back without the groupon as its expensive. Beer prices are outrageous so we didn't have a drink. It was very quiet as not many were there.
Ralph's always impresses. The veal is the best I have ever had. Desserts are always excellent. Service is great and it is not too expensive.
