Casual, yet upscale. Excellent food and service. We both had steak as our main course and I had a red wine (cabernet) that was very delicious.

Always consistently delicious

This was probably one of the worst steakhouse experiences I’ve ever had.. i made a reservation for 2 for my husbands birthday and they sat us in the bar area, i was a little annoyed though because i had listed that it was a special occasion and yet they chose to sit us in the noisy bar.. then our drinks come and my lychee martini was gross, they 100% did not give me the Tito’s i asked for. The waiter asked if we were ready, we said we were and as i went to order, he said I’ll give you a few more minutes and didn’t return for another 10.. strange but ok the guy was clearly in the weeds.. we finally order and then come out our blue point oysters that are usually briney & delicious and they were flat and watered down, never met an oyster i didn’t like until that day! Next comes our food, we got frizzled onions & brussel sprouts with bacon.. the onions were cold and oily and the $11 dollar brussel sprouts didn’t even come with the bacon & were undercooked!! At this point i was so annoyed and just wanted to enjoy my steak & leave because i didn’t want to ruin my husbands birthday dinner but my steak was horrible. I ordered it rare and it came medium, not to mention the amount of pepper they put on it left my tongue numb for a solid 5 minutes after i was done. I wish i had said something there but honestly i just wanted to get out as fast as i could. I spent $185 to know i should never go back.. for the price you can go to Roots or Sofia where everything from the ambiance to the service is incredible.. i hate to say it because I’ve never left a bad review in my life but don’t waste your $$$ here..

Steve the manager is very professional and always making sure the place is running smoothly. The bartenders make the best drinks. The kitchen always cooks the steaks perfect and their specials are amazing. The waiters are fast fun and friendly. Awesome experience every time.

Definitely recommend Rare for a genuinely remarkable experience with the ambience, friendly staff and world-class chefs. The food was amazing!

Excellent good

Easter dinner...The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. I will absolutely be back. My knock however, is that we had a 8pm reservation and upon arrival, the staff didn’t seem too pleased. We had to rush to order and ultimately couldn’t even Order dessert because the pastry chef had left for the evening, and it was only 8:45.. I can understand wanting to go home, I just recommend maybe making the last reservation at 7:30 instead so that your guests can have the full experience. Had 8pm not been an option, I would have made another choice. Other than that, the food was excellent.

Have been regulars here for years, but first time back since the fire. The food was exceptionally good and the service solid. Expect to pay the top of the rate card but don’t let that detract from an otherwise outstanding experience.

Overall, great steakhouse. I’m glad we gave it a try rather than driving into NYC. Food was great - with high expectations - but the service and level of attention to service made this a really great experience.

It was really nice to eat inside after a year of not going anywhere, and Rare was the place to be. The ambiance, food and service is exactly as we remember: EXCELLENT! We had a great time and left happy. We will be back!

didn’t like my experience because the waiter was really pushy for a tip and we tipped 5$ for a reason 1. he was barely attending us he was barely there.. 2. he caught an attitude when i asked to see the menu for my boyfriends birthday. 3. it was really rude how he confronted us how he did not like the tip we gave him if we gave you that tip it’s because of how we were treated we were mostly treated by the other waiters we only saw you when we got our steaks... 4. we didn’t even get to see the deserts it was my boyfriends birthday ! Bad experience such a bad waiter! not returning

Everything was great except my sons 60oz tomahawk steak. He ordered medium and it was closer to rare. Definitely under cooked to the way he ordered it. Other then that excellent experience.

We dined at Rare quite a few times. We decided to take her 10-year-old daughter who is a major steak lover. She enjoyed every minute of dinner. She had the 12 oz NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly for her (she’s a medium rare girl). I had the veal chop it was out of this world. My husband had the cowboy steak fit for a king!

Nico was our waiter. He was super friendly and funny which we love. Great personality and knew everything about their food
