Our dinner at Ray's on the River was outstanding. The food was cooked perfectly and came to the table nice and hot. Everything we tried was delicious. The thing that most stood out though was the service. Pawel went out of his way to make sure we wanted for nothing. His pleasant, friendly demeanor just added a special extra touch to an already great dinner. Curtis, who also served us was so professional and we felt very well taken care of. Service like we had from these gentlemen has sadly become the exception and not the norm. There are other restaurants in Atlanta that have great steak and seafood but not many that have that level of service. We will definitely go back.
Delicious food, wonderful view what is not to like. We have been to Ray's several times and it has always been consistent.
John was our server, and he did an outstanding job.
Was disappointed. I ordered the broiled seafood platter but was so bland with no seasoning. I changed to the short rib and was happy w that choice. It was my birthday and I felt there wasn’t enough attention given to me as the other guests. The complimentary desert was the best part of the meal. Overall I expected a little more from this Atlanta landmark restaurant!
The atmosphere, service, food and overall experience was great. We celebrated my retirement dinner and could not have asked for more. Our server was top notch!
Buffet was cold or room temperature. Expected better based on reviews.
I found it easy to make reservations for Sunday Brunch. Our party of 6 entered the restaurant to hear live music (Honor Victoria) and see the feast they prepared for brunch. I dont mind a buffet when it has this many options and stays fresh and replenished. Our server Brenda offered a mix of mimosas that was delicious. Our booth fit us well and allowed views of the river and the lively crowd of people. My #1 pick for brunch solo, on a date or with a group!
Overall the experience was fantastic! I will visit again, and highly suggest it to my associates and family!
The staff was super friendly, we were seated right away , our drink and appetizers came out very quickly our food yummy . Everything was amazing they even brought us out a huge tray of desserts to celebrate our anniversary
arrived early for drinks but waited at least 15 minutes to be served at the bar. After handling cash, the barmaid used her bare hands for ice in my glass.
Our food waiter never came back after taking our order until we were were finished. Food was good but the service gave Rays a bad score. This was our second and last time for this restaurant.
My husband and I like to go to a nice/fine dining restaurant once or twice a month and I have been suggesting Ray’s for awhile now because I’ve never been. We finally went last night to celebrate the anniversary of our first date.
The evening started out great with the friendly valets and bar staff. Unfortunately, this is where our good service ended.
We were seated with a decent view of the Chattahoochee river, although we were a little close to other tables. At least this gave me an opportunity to see what others had ordered, which influenced my own decision. One server came by to fill our water glasses up and I asked for a couple of lemons, which never came. Not the end of the world, but odd for a restaurant like this. A few minutes later, another server came by and asked if anyone had gone over the specials with us. Okay? I didn’t expect that this meal would be tag-teamed by multiple servers, but whatever. I can only assume that we had a server for drinks and a server to take food orders. However, I saw so little of both of them that I can’t confirm that theory. Our appetizers came out quickly and then were checked on by the same two servers, who left our dirty dishes on the table until another server finally came around to pick them up. I had to ask twice for a second glass of wine, which was becoming unacceptable.
Once our food came, we dug in - everything was very good. I had the Parmesan crusted scallops and my husband had the ribeye. Everything was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. However, no one came by to see how our food was or if we needed anything. In fact, we didn’t see a server again until well after our meal, and even then, we had to flag him down to ask for a dessert menu.
Overall, when we pay upwards of $200 for a meal, I expect service to be top notch. It’s disappointing because we live close to Ray’s and we would have continued to dine there, but I do not see us going back.
Being longstanding return customers, my wife and I were shocked at the extremely slow service and unbelievably poor food. It took almost 40 minutes before finally taking our appetizer order. The calamari and shrimp turned out to be 99% calamari with only 3 shrimp. Our steaks came to the table purple (no joke) when ordered medium. When taken back and returned, the steaks were well done on the edges and still quite purple in the middle. The parmesan fries were cold and soggy and the roasted vegetables were stale tasting. The only good thing about the evening was the wine. Seriously, Ray's is my wife's favorite restaurant and we have been many, many times so you can imaging our shock. All in all, a very expensive disappointment.
We had a great table by the window and enjoyed good cocktails, appetizers and dinner. Our water glasses were never empty and we loved the new digital bill!! This was a great place to unwind after a long week!
We loved it! We have been some fancy fancy places that were basically disappointing so I didn’t get my hopes up. I should have though, because this place was awesome! Service was top notch. Drinks were a slam dunk. Food was perfect. We had a great time and definitely recommend! We are excited to try the other Ray’s restaurants
Went to Rays on Saturday night. Our service was terrible- our waiter forgot to put in multiple dishes, left our glasses empty for almost the entire meal, and did not clear dirty dishes off the table. I ordered the special and it did not come out as it was described. It was supposed to come out with wasabi mashed potatoes, and instead it showed up on a bed of spinach with roasted carrots. The roasted carrots were barely cooked and hard as rocks and the fish was way overdone and chewy. I did not finish my meal and I did not take it home. For the amount of money spent (about $100 per person), we could have gone to Bones or another reputable restaurant and had a much better experience.
I it was my first time and I was very disappointed, our server was poor and seating was not good right in front of the kitchen door the lighting was Horrible we had to use our phones to read the the menu the food was okay find it to be pricey it was my mom's birthday celebration which I told them ahead of time server was very slow on a tentative I had to keep asking for other people to help us in service I was really expecting more
Ray's on the River is one of our favorite restaurants. The food, service and ambiance is outstanding. Highly recommend Ray's.
Disappointed the online menu only shows the lunch pricing but never says “lunch” so it was a shock to get there and find out a salmon Oscar was $36 instead of $18 as stated online. It was also very embarrassing to find that out in front of our guests who we brought with us. The $34 halibut was also the size of a child’s fist.
We always love going to Rays every time we are in Atlanta. It’s one of our favorite places. The food is always good and this time we were in a half circle booth which is really nice to be able to talk with each other. Love it!
My tab totaled $230.00 that’s not bad if my food and service was profound. My salmon was over cooked an dry. And the waiter didn’t come check on us. It was a large party so we were speaking amongst each other but we all weren’t satisfied. It was my sister birthday and one of the managers(a guy in a suit) stayed they don’t sing Happy Birthday, I have never heard of that at a restaurant!
Good, but prices have gotten a bit ridiculous.
Good food and great service
Main course came out while we were still eating appetizers so felt very rushed. Probably should have instructed waiter to wait a bit, but expected in a nice restaurant that staff should know how best to pace courses. All else was fine.
Ryan was absolutely outstanding serving us on our anniversary dinner! The food was delicious.
Wonderful food. Felt full but not sick afterwards! Nice restaurant with friendly staff.
this was the second time I have eaten at Ray's. The first time the food and service were above average. So I suggested to a friend that we go back with our husbands. The food was terrible. My husband got the prime dip sandwich (we were there for lunch) and the meat tasted as if it was cooked a week prior. I ordered the scallops and it was more an appetizer portion of 3 then fit for a meal. Service was nothing special. I asked for bread while we were waiting and it didn't come until our food did. I would not go back based on this one experience. I prefer a restaurant where the food is consistently good not hit or miss.
The window seat provides an outstanding view, the brunch is very nice although the stations were out of food and not replenished in a timely manner. After 1:30 noticed the desserts were gone and the other dishes were not replenished, it would be nice to know you could have dessert at 2:30... All in all it is still one of my favorite places to dine for over 15 years. Thank you.

My husband and I were in town for the weekend and decided to have Sunday brunch here to celebrate my birthday before we left town.
Dinning experience was Amazing and the Food is Always Scrumptious!
We always have an incredible meal and great time at Ray's on the River!
Always a great experience and great food!
Always the best food, the best service, and the best atmosphere. Rays is dining done right.
From Ambience to service and to food, everything was perfect.
I've been to Ray's on the River a few times. It's always a great experience and worth the cost because of the experience. I recommend it to anyone who visits or lives in the Atlanta area.
I had a nice lunch with a good friend and we each had great meals!
Was a wonderful dinner and the cheesecake dessert was over the top delicious
My husband and I have dined at Ray’s on the River many times since 2008. I had the SEA BASS Special. The fish was fresh but the preparation confused me. The recipe did not seem to be Asian or Western. I thought the taste was weird and disappointing.
