Great food and service
A restaurant in the downtown area. Parking and access to the Redwood was very easy. The filet was outstanding along with the sautéed mushrooms, baked potato and Caesar salad. Don’t forget the spicy mai tai drink. Would of had two, but I would have been taking a cab back home. As locals we will be back.
Food was delicious, our server Maria was outstanding.
Overall my experience was great.
First time diner at Redwood Steakhouse. Excellent service. Usual prices for fine dining. Would come back again.
The experience was good and food great. But in party of five, two ordered prime ribs which was not on menu but told is available. To our surprise it was 24 oz roast which we wouldnt have ordered if told by waiter. Another had lamb chops ordered med rare and was over cooked.
At our friends’ get-together, that we like to do when we meet at the Cal, we like to meet at the Redwood Grill! It was such a great time with good food, ambiance and excellent service. The waiters made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal!! The steak we had was grilled to our liking plus it was delicious!!!!!
Steak house prices without steakhouse service nor product. Our server had way too many tables and service was incredibly slow and food was cold. Forgot my cocktail, mistakes happen so no big deal, but then our food was cold, waited a long time between courses, never received the wine i ordered and took 30 minutes to cash out. Our server was pleasant but in the weeds the entire meal. Bill was over $200 after tip, we wont be rerurning.
All around good restaurant. Server was excellent. One of two steaks were cooked perfectly. Cocktails and bar needs some work . Prices were a little higher for what food quality and drinks were provided.
The service was exceptional. Had a mishap with my meal and the manager came to the table to apologize and took care of it immediately. Will recommend this establishment to family and friends
I enjoyed the service. The server had remembered me from a previous visit.
Food, service and ambience was stellar!!
Highly recommend it
Food was great. Unfortunately, they sat us in the other restaurant. The atmosphere wasn’t the same, but the service was good.
The bread needs to be upgraded. The rolls were too big, individual bread sticks and small pieces of bread, toast would be better.
Everything was amazing! Service, food, and ambiance!!!
Good was good and service by Jesus was fantastic. Will be back on next trip to Las Vegas.
Great dinner to start the New Year made a late reservation and they took us earlier.Very nice staff and server.
Thankyou California for making a memorable dining experience 🥳
Service and food was very excellent as always. Our waiter Jesus was terrific. Aloha.
We went there because we saw King Crab Legs on the menu but was disapointed that the item wasn't available. The filet and snapper was good, but not a subsitute for what we were going there for.
BTW the service was great.
A little bit disturbed by the table next to us with kids and adults loud conversation, since we were going there for a nice quiet dinner!
The service from Staff was excellent though they were quite busy.
The deep fried fish was disappointing as they were charred outside, but the meat was slightly underdone for both fish ordered. Also the sauce lacked pleasing flavor, but the Broccolini was well done. The steak & lobster, and prime rib served to the other two persons in the party, were fine.
The escargot and wedge salads were tasty.
The desserts, apple dumplings and chocolate cake were delicious.
I will return as previous visits have been positive, and the service has continued to be a positive experience inspite of the disappointing fish entree.
Took my dad for his 88th birthday. Got him the big lobster tail. Waiter was excellent and even got my dad a piece birthday cake! We have been there a year before Covid started and he enjoyed himself, so decided to go again. Good food, great wait staff and food was excellent. Will be back again!!
Stylish restaurant, staff were so friendly and attentive. Beautiful steak cooked perfectly and good portion sizes. Bread was provided on arrival and it was some of the nicest I’ve had.
Always welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious. Best wine selection around
Great! Food was delicious and service was awesome!
We always enjoy have a great dinner at the Redwood. Jesus is our favorite server, and we always request for him.
The escargot is the bomb and so is the prime rib and lobster tail 😋
Excellent service moderate prices, large pour on bar drinks, food was delicious.
The food cooked to perfection and service was outstanding.
Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The employees were very friendly and accommodating
We made reservations for the steakhouse, but our table was in a dining room that was more like a breakfast cafe. Service was good; food was terrible. Worst we’ve had in several years. Chewy steak; overcooked fish and cold potatoes. For the money, we expected much better food.
The staff was friendly and the food was wonderful
Downgraded on the bread from sourdough to cheap Hawaiian rolls. Would have loved to sit in Redwood instead of sticking us in Noodle House which is a major stepdown. The AC was super cold.
Service and food was awesome
Had the Short Ribs, was extremely moist and tender served on top of mashed potatoes. excellent entree
Consistency in great service with "Jesus" Calaunan. We enjoy dining at The Redwood every visit to Las Vegas California Hotel.
We also ask for Maria Sanchez to be our bus person but she has been usually assigned to another server
Food usually excellent but hoping the menu is expanded soon with increased selections ... since we dine there often, "tiredness" and "boredom" of setting in ... especially if one has allergy to shellfish!
This is the only fine dining restaurant at the Boyd hotels downtown.
We always enjoy the dinners but are hoping for some of the other places to reopen.
Need to mention the top service that Jesus always gives us.
Also looking forward to the menu expanding again.
Is the only fine dining experience in Boyd downtown hotels.
Menu is limited after reopening.
Service is still excellent.
The service has always been, and continues to be excellent.
The food quality has diminished over the last few months. This was the fourth visit over the course of the year. The menu hasn't changed, but according to the long-tenured staff, it's more about the inexperience of those who the hotel/restaurant hired to replace the more senior (i.e., well paid) experienced chefs and kitchen staff who were producing a 5-star product before. It's unfortunate.
The food is "good" but not "great" now. The service is impeccable. Always has been.
Ate there this past weekend. Once again, the service and the food was great. I have two additional comments to share with OT readers:
1) on OT and Yelp, there are a lot of reviews about slow and poor service. I have never experienced this in dining here 100s of times over 30+ years. This problem is due to the lack of skill of the new hostess and certain waitstaff members. So you need to know how to "work the system" in order to get around the obstacles set by the hostess (sometimes) and not get the less desireable waitstaff members. Unfortunately I will share how to do this since I don't to make it more difficult for me to enjoy the fortunes of my own information. LOL!
2) Secondly, they now have added 4 Asian inspired dishes to the menu. I think this is a very good thing and it gives diners more menu options. Being of Asian descent myself, I love these additions. This is what they added: Honey walnut shrimp (classical, and from the old Noodle House menu); whole deep fried and ponzu marinated striped bass over steamed gailan; Happy Family Meal (beef filet, shrimps, and scallops with steamed gailan); and lobster with fried noodles.
I had the deep fried whole fish and it was excellent. Next time I will ask for extra thai chili's for my dipping sauce. There was not enough chilis to add spice to my sauce. I loved the dish, but you gotta like whole fish on the bone with the head on. Maybe some people would not like this but for me, I loved it. I picked all the meat off the bones and the head with my hashi (chop sticks).
I had a solo eating experience at Redwood Steakhouse. I was made to feel
I visited the website multiple times to check the menu and when we arrived there were items on the menu that were not available. One item specifically, King crab legs. I asked the waiter and he confirmed it’s been over 2 months with out this item. I asked the manager to bring out a small sample of the dungenous crab they they touted as the replacement. The chef came out and told us they weren’t interested in helping us with that request. There was a medical emergency which we happily vacated our table to give some room to the emergency responders. We were rudely treated by host while trying to pay our bill. All in all poor experience.
Great to be back to Vegas, its been 18 months. Return to Redwood Steakhouse where food is always good. Steaks perfect, salads perfect. It was our 4th time to eat here, always good.
