Outstanding served Easter buffet. The entire experience was very nice.
We were at the Desmond for Easter brunch and enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. I especially like the way they did the buffet during these pandemic times.
The service was great, so I can’t fault our server in any way! However, the food was a bit lackluster. Everything was fairly fresh, but the offerings were kind of basic and didn’t have much flavor.
Service always friendly and not rushed
Food always as expected
Nice local place to grab a meal while on business travel or after a day at the office.
I struggle to complete reviews these days . . . Covid restrictions have ravaged this industry. Under normal circumstances, this venue delivers a consistently favorable experience. What I'd say is that if you enjoy dining out, do your part to keep your community's restaurants open, knowing that menu selections are limited, staff is shorthanded and your party will be seated in the least costly section of the venue to operate.
If we all do our part to support, hopefully, all our favorites can claw their way to a vibrant comeback
Thank you for your input - we are right around the corner from being able to bring staff back & offering more options. We appreciate your understanding - Kind Regards Restaurants at the Desmond
The Desmond is a great place to eat. I like to go on a Sunday for brunch.
expected to eat in the fork and bottle, instead we ended up eating in the bar.
i know there is a "crisis" going on, but this was not what i expected. it is a shame
things have declined so fast. only thing prices have not changed! until things change, i will not be back
It was just two of us on Thanksgiving night. Hotel was beautiful. Only two waitress' so service wasn't as attentive but still good. Food was great except they ran out if yams....on Thanksgiving....and they knew how many people were coming because you need reservations....ok. I would try again on a non holiday night.
This was our first time eating at the Desmond. Not only was the food delicious, the service and staff were wonderful
The Thanksgiving dinner was great. The food was delicious, especially the Acorn Squash soup. The whole dinner was a nice remembrance of Thanksgiving and what one expects a Thanksgiving dinner to be. The service was professional and friendly. A nice Thanksgiving!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Desmond.
Our meal was delicious and the wait staff was terrific.
The food and service have always been tops, but in a wacked-out year when you can't celebrate with your family, Desmond offered the perfect place and the perfect menu for a Thanksgiving feast for the two of us.
Couldn't ask for better service or dining experience during these tough times!! Excellent job!
Last minute brunch on a Sunday early afternoon. The place was empty so it was nice and quiet. As tasty as the food was the service was even better. The waitress and bartender went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our experience. They worked great together and kept us entertained most of our meal. We will be back for sure.
Great spot for brunch. Steak and eggs was outstanding!
21st Wedding Anniversary dinner.
They sat us at a table that was directly next to a door to get outside. Outside there was a function of about 75 people going in and out of the door. Freezing, we asked to move our table. It was then wiped off and soaked when we sat.
Food was poor. Fish was dry and my carrots were practically raw.
Staff was hurried and not very present.
Ate on the deck. Quite and relaxing. Room temperature was comfortable.
Just a great experience!! The food was amazing and the service was as well. I will be returning!
Our first dinner out since March. It was to celebrate our anniversary. We felt safe & comfortable w the seating. The service was perfect. We enjoyed every part of our meal. Well done by Tara & our other server (I cannot remember her name ☹️.). We will definitely be back.
Great service, great quality food. I would definitely recommend.
Felt safe and socially distanced in the Fox and Hound restaurant even on a Fri night
Wonderful, social distancing dining on the deck!
Our service Jackie was wonderful....
The service was great as was the food. This place is our favorite!
Lovely setting, great food and the best staff! A favorite place to be! We’ll be back!
Great service and delicious food! Dined outside for Father's Day Brunch and had an excellent experience.
Meghan our server was super!! We really enjoyed our meals. My family and I had a great time there.
Even during a Sunday brunch we were able to order from a lunch menu and everyone got excellent service from our waiter and from the hostess.
We've been here a number of times and have hosted a few small gatherings here. We've never been disappointed. Will return again and again!
As always, the Sunday brunch at the Desmond leaves all others behind. There's a wide selection of cuisines to satisfy almost any taste. Everything is fresh (fruit, baked goods) and in some cases, is refreshed (eggs) during the course of brunch. Service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended!
Visited for Valentines Day. Nice atmosphere in older hotel that had been renovated. Menu had numerous dishes that made it tough to decide. I had swordfish which was well cooked. Wife had lobster and scallops, the lobster was overcooked (very tough) but this dish had good flavor.
Great place for brunch. The food selection, service and ambiance were all great and I wish I would have found this place sooner. I will be back very soon!
we enjoy coming to the desmond for brunch, service is always perfect, and the prices are affordable.
its also a pleasant drive from lancaster county (manheim twp). one item that i was a bit sad over, all the Chirstmas decorations where gone in the lobby, the one thing my wife always enjoys seeing is how tasteful the lobby is decorated, this year all gone (too soon).
Food food and service.
Birthday
Excellent Food
Nice ambiance
It was New Year Eve. Maybe because we sat at 6:30, the good stuff came out later. Nothing special; no tablecloths, surprisingly informal staff. My lamb Loin was over cooked, dry and dredged in excess salt and spices. My companion felt that warm sauce was laid over cold pasta.
Oh, and the bench seats are the wrong height for the height of the banquette table.
Excellent brunch. Fabulous service. Highly recommend
Love it, love it, love it
Food is exceptional, the ambiance is excellent, omelette's excellent, service excellent.
Love it if grits were added as a to order item.
Always a great meal. Our server Colin whom I known for many years was his usual spectacular self.
Great Brunch. Beautiful set up and the selection of food is large. My family loves this . We always take our parents and grandparents as part of their Christmas gift from our family.
