Ripplewood Whiskey and Craft
This was my second time going to Ripplewood. The first time was better. This time I sat upstairs and I don't like the ambiance as much as downstairs, weird smell like living quarters, don't love chaise lounge. Food was great, possibly a little salty. I would definitely go again!!
A great restaurant...service was excellent and the food was very good and fresh. Happy hour is very nice as well.
Food was excellent!
While I really enjoyed the meal my partner was less enthusiastic. She thought the $27 pork tenderloin dish was not a good value and it wasn't cooked the way she ordered it. She was also disappointed that an item she saw on the online menu wasn't on the menu we were presented. I would have liked to have been offered a choice of seating. It was our first time here and we were seated at a high-top table in the bar area. It was not comfortable for sitting for a whole meal - though it would probably be fine for someone having a few drinks. It was also noisier - as you'd expect sitting just opposite the bar and it was more crowded. I later found out there's an upstairs dining room and a room out back. Oh, the hostess did offer the outside seating but it was incredibly humid and about to rain. In general I will usually not go back to any restaurant that is charging $12 a glass for a small pour of mediocre wine - that's just way too much. We may try again in the fall - and would like to try the outdoor seating - but we won't be ordering any wine.
Food was salty and not impressive, especially for the price.
As usual, Ripplewood made me happy that it's so near where I live. I went for lunch with a friend and we sat outside in the lovely courtyard, facing a long window box of beautiful flowers in bloom. I couldn't pass up my favorite ripp fries. My friend wanted lemonade, which was not on the menu, but the bartender offered to make her a glass and it sounded good so I ordered one too. Like all of the other drinks I've had on the menu, this was fresh and delicious. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity I have to return for Happy Hour!
Enjoyed the outdoor dining which is hidden from view and is a delightful surprise. Service was superb!
The food was original and interesting, and we ordered a lot. But everything was way too salty. Amazingly we could tell that it was tasty, but it could have been so much better.
The four of us ordered many many plates from this very interesting menu and honestly there was not one bite that was not fabulous! The chef is so creative! I highly recommend this new find!
Great food and great service. The drinks and wine was awesome.
Fabulous service, delicious food and cocktails! The staff made our anniversary incredible!
The Ripplewood burger is why we come here. And the pretzel roll. Enough said.
Either we got lucky and liked everything we ordered or the menu is that strong. We ordered several different cocktails, and all were good. We had 6 of the shareables and 2 deserts, and to our surprise there were no weak links. The ambience was nice and service was good overall, but a little spotty. The specials sounded great, so maybe on our next visit.
We thoroughly enjoy the restaurant. The menu and the staff are unique and special.
So husband and I finally went to Ripplewood! And it lived up to all the buzz! We had to have the brussel sprouts (holy moly) and the pretzel bread (yummy). I wanted at least 3 other shareables and contemplated an all shareables meal. But they had a Moroccan chicken special that the waitress described as "melt in your mouth". The chicken was very good - coated with a great mix of spices and it did melt in your mouth. But for me, it was the cucumber salad that accompanied the chicken that was beyond delicious. The cucumbers were room temperature and so fresh that I was certain they came directly from the garden, cut in varying shapes (some very thin with some larger pieces too) that enhanced their flavor and texture, paired with pickled onion, and a hint of a light dressing. Overall, wonderful, fresh food with great attention to texture and flavor.
This is a great addition to the neighborhood. Delicious food and excellent selection of drinks. The only fault I can come up with is the lack of adequate servers during lunch. There appears to be only the bartender, and the wait can be very long for drinks and food.
I picked the place for proximity to Ardmore Hall. The food was excellent as our party of three tried different items on the menu. The drink menu was varied and our party tried some specials as well as traditional. Drinks were tasty and unique (whiskey sour with egg white) and we had much fun sharing various menu items such as chicken meatballs, home mad mac and cheese, the ripp fries (must have), and a more than generous portion of the brussel sprouts. I would definitely come back for a pre show meal. The service was fast, and our waitress Liz was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing.
Great place to spot before a show at The Ardmore. Fun atmosphere good food and great service!
The patio closed due to a storm that arrived right before we did. As such we were in the adjoining room, which has no acoustic buffers. I suggest some foam squares for the corners or thicker oil paintings, to muffle the sound. It was really loud for only five tables. The menu is different, bologna on the hamburgers, an orange slice in the house Manhattan, only a pork or mushroom flatbread. The food was good, just expect some unexpected twists. The service was excellent and accommodating, although we were there for a birthday and nothing was done to acknowledge it. We might go back to sit at the bar or the outside patio.
Excellent Brunch! Highly recommend.
Great menu, everything we tried was well done... not fru fru in anyway but also not just same ol same ol....
Will be back
I was seriously impressed by the food, service and drink menu at Ripplewood. Definitely one of the best experiences in Ardmore if not all of Philly.
It’s rare when we dine out at one restaurant twice in one week, but that’s what happened. After enjoying a couples dinner over Memorial Day weekend we returned to Ripplewood 6 days later with a party of 6 on s rain soaked night.
Instead of dining on the patio we were in the back room, the only space besides the patio for a group our size.
Our waiter was excellent, giving great suggestions on drinks, beer & appetizer selections.
Also rare- the menu is wonderful for a bar, but I had to order the 1/2 chicken again. It’s fabulous.
So rain or shine this is a great choice in Ardmore.
Made a reservation for 5 but it ended up being 7. The manager and hostesses were super accommodating finding us another table for 7, outside on the deck with both heaters blazing. I appreciated the heaters very much. I was celebrating my 48th with some family and friends and I know we may have gotten a little rowdy at times (forgive us), not everyone can handle whiskey. Nevertheless, it’s my favorite place in Ardmore. I appreciate everyone being so accommodating and I’m looking forward to returning for happy hour!!
This was our first visit to Ripplewood, and we will definitely be returning soon. I started off with the raspberry beret drink, and it was very tasty. We had the special swordfish and salmon appetizers. They were amazingly delicious. The brussel sprouts were great too, bursting with flavor. Our main courses were the branzino and the filet. Both were cooked to perfection and were incredibly flavorful. We topped off this fabulous experience with a cappuccino and the apple tostado with caramel ice cream. Wow is all I can say. The timing of serving each course was exactly right, and our server, Michael, is one of the best we have ever had. He was fantastic. Based upon our experience, I would highly recommend a trip to Ripplewood. You will be extremely pleased. I would imagine that whatever you order, you will love. We can’t wait to return!
I thought the food & drinks were quite good!
This is one of the the best places I’ve eaten at in the world!! Each cocktail was outstanding!! Eat dish was crafted to PERFECTION! I cannot say it enough this is unbelievable!
5th or 6th visit. Server was helpful with food sensitivity questions but just wasn’t super attentive.
Food was fine (charred octopus, beef tartare) but had been better on previous visits.
Tables of six are way too noisy. Otherwise love Ripplewood.
Sat at the bar with my hubby and enjoyed stellar cocktails and many of the appetizers. The best thing we ate was the grilled octopus which was charred to perfection and just so tender and delicious. The steak tartar was also good - the sauce tasted like a much fancier version of the secret sauce that comes on Big Macs, and bread it came with was perfect. We didn’t understand the purpose of the giant sheets of iceberg lettuce but maybe it’s meant for gluten free patrons? The garlic shrimp were also excellent and flavorful. The surf and turf Bao buns were yummy though we wished there was one of each for each of us. The house made buns were perfect. We will definitely be back. I want to eat everything on the menu!
I really liked the food choices they had available. I was slightly disappointed that the roasted beet dip was on their online menu, but wasn't on their actual menu, I was really looking forward to trying it. We went with the goal of basically trying their whole app list, as opposed to ordering entrees, and we weren't disappointed overall (we only made it through 7 lol). The food was really good, I highly recommend the Brussel sprout app and the shrimp, I'd pass on the steak related app (can't really remember the name and its not on their online menu), it was SUPER salty.
The reason I gave 3 stars for the overall experience wasn't due to the food or the service (our waitress was super nice), it was the table we were seated at. We were there for our anniversary dinner, so there was only two of us. We made reservations in advance, and noted what the event was we were coming for, but we still got seated at the bar section in the hightop tables. The table was extremely small (so difficult when going hard on the apps), and the chairs were so uncomfortable we had to keep standing up, like painfully awful. I'm sure if we would have spoken up, they would have reseated us, but definitely something I recommend is requesting a non-hightop table, if you're going for more than a drink!
Great for bottomless mimosa and bloody brunch. We ate outside on the patio and the ambience was wonderful. Some of the best eggs Benedict I’ve had. Eggs cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was delicious. Would highly recommend!
The food was excellent. Fresh ingredients prepared in creative ways. Everything we ate was delicious. And while I'm not a big cocktail person I had a wonderful mojito and there's a great selection
We enjoyed excellent food from a diverse menu. There was an especially strong selection of sharable appetizers.
Our service was excellent by a very knowledgeable server.
This is our new favorite place to go. We come here at least 3 times per month. Excellent food and excellent service.
Food and service are always exemplary! Drinks are the cherry on top.
The Ripp is one of my favorite places. The service is top notch and the drinks and food never disappoint.
I went to Ripplewood with a party of five, to celebrate Mother's Day a day early. It was somewhat busy; most patrons sat outside, since the day turned out to be beautiful. We chose to sit inside and were seated in the back area, across from the outdoor seating. Our server, Michael was friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. We were able to enjoy their brunch menu; which had plenty of variety and something for everyone in my somewhat-picky party. Everyone enjoyed their food and cocktails. We will definitely return to try their other menu selections.
I had taken my daughter there for her 19th Birthday Lunch. Charred Octopus was delicious as always and the Fries were yummy. Great service and the bartender, who waited on us surprised her with a Birthday dessert. All & All a Wonderful Birthday Lunch!!
We were disappointed after hearing about how good the place is. The pork flat bread was way over cooked and dry. The mushroom soup was able to be eaten with a fork because of its consistency. The roasted chicken was good, but not enough to offset the other items. There are many new choices available in the area so we will not be returning any time soon.
