The uniqueness of our facility doesn't end with smiling faces and home cooked food.
We had the brunch buffet and the attention paid by the staff on avoiding germ contamination was remarkable. The restrooms and door handles were being cleaned every 30 minutes as well. We felt very safe from germs and the food was excellent.
Right now I would not recommend this place to anyone. I always eat at the place. Friday night we ordered crab cakes and they were horrible not even sure if it was real Maryland crab cakes. Very disappointed in the quality of food for the price I paid. Ordered the turkey gravy to go and paid over $100. I will not be back for awhile.
Good food. Comfortable atmosphere. reasonably priced. Old fashion drink was good.
I really wasn’t expecting the outstanding time we had at Rips. I had heard good ribs and prime rib. We were seated immediately, the staff was wonderful. The menu choices blew me away. I got the steak mutard, which was to die for. My boyfriend got the strip steak and it was perfectly cooked. They were extremely busy but you didn’t feel it with the associates. Will definitely go back.
Good lunch choice for my best friends belated birthday lunch. She lives in Laurel and I live in Annapolis. A good 1/2 way place to meet. Waitress was attentive.
Whole lot of food! Our waitstaff was fantastic and met our every desire. Had a wonderful evening, thanks to Rips and their staff! My out of town guest was very happy with the meal and asked how I ever found this gem of a restaurant!
We were seated in a booth away from the bar, but near the door. Since the booth was set in, the main entrance didn't take away from the experience. All the food was hot and delicious from the opening appetizer to the bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely be back!
Great local place, plenty of parking , easy access. Crab Cakes are very good.
We are regulars at Rips and we took our friends there for the first time. The food and service were great! Rips NEVER disappoints!
First time we ate dinner at Rips. We enjoyed it very much and plan to return.
The Shrimp, Scallops and Grits is AMAZING! The service was awesome too! Fried chicken was good but not the best I've had, green beans were from a can and the mac and cheese was ok. It could use a little upgrade in the decor but overall I would go back when I want a good homecooked meal.
Old fashion home cooking! Everything was great! The food was great. Service only so so. Nice guy but didn’t do a very good job for us.
Glad we went back. It had been years. Will go back more frequently as it was a good feeling to go back to an old fashion family restaurant!
The hostess was not friendly at all and my kids and I smiled at her and she just looked at us. Everyone else was great, especially our server, Selina! She’s the best and always does an amazing job. Food was OMG good!
We usually go to Rip’s for dinner. This time we went to lunch. The lunch menu has a wide variety. Many different burgers and sandwiches to choose from. It is always clean and cozy. The service is always excellent. Every there is very friendly. A Nice locals spot that never lets us down.
Great as always. This place never lets us down.
Good server. Very polite
First visit - we would go back.
Great experience as always! Great comfort food. The staff is always friendly. Rip’s never disappoints. Thanks
Not quite the same as we remembered. Had to return my steak three times until it was the way I ordered. Gave four stars because rest of our meals had no problems & were tasty.
I think there was a new chef in the kitchen. Weekdays food is better.
Food and service was lovely!
Service was good, food was good.
Our server was horrible! He forgot to bring our soups, he forgot to tell us that the soup of the day was out. He through away my wife's leftovers even though she asked for a to go box.
Food and service were very good. Food was hot and waiter was outstanding.
Go to place for meeting up with friends. Service is always on point.
The food was very mediocre. I didn't taste anything that was yummy. It was all average. The cream of crab soup was too thick. You could literally taste corn starch? Flour? As you ate it. The chicken nuggets were a little chewy, the calamari wasn't cut up well, the shrimp was ok. The stuffed shrimp wasn't very good. Whatever cream they used in the stuffing tasted a little strange. The waitress was kind and the atmosphere was good though.
Just stopped in for a quick lunch.
My wife and I come here often. This past weekend our nephew came to visit. For dinner we took him to Rip’s. In the years we have been coming here they never disappoint. Staff is always friendly and the food is great. It’s like getting a hot home cooked meal. The value is great as well. You can get a good dish at a reasonable price. Specials menu changes often. Nothing like having a “go to” restaurant. This is one of them.
Have been going to Rip's for years. This is the first time doing Brunch. Have we been missing a great brunch all these Sunday's. I think we will have to look at doing this more regularly. There is such a great selection great price.
I would suggest making reservations with Open Table or calling otherwise you might be waiting for a little while.
Rip's Sunday Brunch Buffet 9AM to 1PM
Every Sunday morning we prepare a Brunch Buffet from scratch. Alongside all of your breakfast favorites we have an Omelette and Carving Station, fresh cut fruit, our Bread Pudding, and an ever-changing selection of hand-made desserts. There are also five ever-changing feature selections as well.
$20 for Adults
$10 for Kids ages 5 to 10
*Unfortunately the entire Kitchen is dedicated to the operation of the buffet so no menus are available; we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. *
Our server was nice and efficient. The food was good - the drinks ok. Overall a decent experience.
Ordered black and blue burger medium rare but came out well done. There was a little overcooked piece of bacon and I honestly don't remember seeing blue cheese. $14 is a lot for a burger, but if it's GOOD it's worth it. The bun wasn't even good. I would've sent it back but I didn't want to make my guest uncomfortable. My guest ordered a burger topped with mac and cheese. I thought it would come out with a cheesey helping on top but I literally saw a few dry shell pasta pieces on top. Very disappointing.
We have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Food is always good, service is pleasant yet professional.
Now, if the prices would just stop crawling up!
Staff was attentive and accommodating. __________________________
Belated birthday meal with my best friend. She had been to Rip’s years ago for the Sunday Brunch and wanted to do a repeat. Service was great and food was delicious. They didn’t disappoint.
My wife's cream of crab soup was good, but my Maryland crab soup had a thinner broth than most other crab soups I've had and there was very little crab meat. The crab balls were very good. My wife got the 6 ounce crab cake which she said was very good. I got the seafood platter and had it broiled. The piece of fish had little flavor. The scallops and shrimp were very good. The crab cake either had too much filler or the lesser pieces of crab meat mixed in with some lumps. I ordered a sweet potato and corn on the cob. The sweet potato was very good and the brown sugar was a nice addition. But they brought cole slaw instead of corn. When I pointed this out, they also brought an ear of corn which had no flavor. Although I would not have used it, this is one of the few times I got a seafood platter and they brought cocktail sauce but no tartar sauce. The corn bread was very tasty. Their wine prices are very reasonable. We got the Moscato and thought we were getting a half bottle for the price but it was a full bottle.
This is the second time we went to Rips. It did not disappoint. The crab cakes are very good.
I made a reservation for a group. There were originally five of us. Then we invited more friends. It wound up being eight total. That did not matter the service and food was still great. They seated us within a matter of minutes. Always a great time at Rip’s. Thanks Val!!!!
Great food, and great service.
The food and service were very good, and the ambience was delightfully cozy. Our party got stuck in accident traffic, and the restaurant was understanding and accommodating with our reservation time. We were not rushed by the staff in eating. I wish they had had a surf and turf combination on the menu, though. The desserts are to die for! Chris K.
You have to have a couple of place where you can go and know the food will be consistently good, the service will always be with a smile and it's convenient to home. That - for me - is RIPs.
