    The atmosphere is great, service was great, but the food was very poor. I cannot recommend this restaurant or return due to the disappointing food quality. I hope they can improve because it's such a convenient location and inviting decor. All staff we encountered was friendly too.

    Restaurant service was spotty, felt as if things were still getting ironed out. Called ahead to add one to our table and was told there was no space. However, when we got there there were plenty of tables available. We were a group of 4 20-30 year olds and only 3 of us got carded for a drink. Food was just OK, drinks were hit or miss. We would have tried dessert, the soft serve sounded like it had potential, but we just wanted to go.

    First time dining here but we’re fans of several other Indigo Road restaurants. The food was excellent! We had a last minute reservation for seats at the bar. Service was great, bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is way too bright (lights) and it was freezing inside. Cool space. They’ll tweak it and get it right. The crowd was more casual than we expected.

    Overall very good ! Took a bit long to get our first drink ! It’s hard to get a reservation but didn’t seem overly busy. I realize they are new and still figuring it out ! Food was great !

    We had a great time! The only negative was. The seating on the Banquette tables. It is very difficult to get in and out of, maybe if you’re 30 years old and supple, but we were not. a lot of sliding and sticking to the fabric on the seats.  I would thank you very much for designing the Riva Mare so that we could hear each other! So many restaurants feel like it makes them sound busy and popular to have it so loud that you can’t speak to each other across the table. I won’t go back to places like that. One of our first courses was the head on Shrimp. My friend did not like it. Said the shrimp was mushy. We’re not sure how that happened, cause it’s supposed to have come off the boat that day. She sent it back. And to our delight, the Chef sent out a lovely calamari salad with watermelon radishes that everybody enjoyed! That will guarantee a return visit! Our server was delightful. Told the truth about what she knew and what she did didn’t know and gave us good recommendations. I’ll definitely be back for happy hour!

    The place is beautiful and we will be back again but being sat at 5:15 one would expect better timing by the server , bar , and kitchen. We waited at each stage of service. Our server was pleasant but wasn’t able to deliver our food and drinks timely. Our entrees were excellent in fact my wife said her chicken dish was exceptionally prepared. Our fried seafood appetizer was one big clump of breading. Having opened a dozen restaurants myself I realize it takes months to get a new restaurant where they want it to be.

    Amazing physical space. Really great addition. The menu is pretty small and the food is still uneven. the focaccia was world class. The steak was very good. The salad was good. The lobster pasta described as spicy, but was actually buffalo wild wings level of nuclear hot. Totally overwhelmed the dish and made it pretty unenjoyable, especially for the price. The gin and tonic had no discernible gin. Sent back and received a glass of pure gin. Server was charming and I’m confident they will fix the issues, but they’re still working some things out clearly.

    The food was delicious especially the pizza which we had as an appetizer.It was a busy night so food came out slow.The manager addressed the issue with us and gave us a perk for waiting!!!! . Camryn our server was attentive and knowledgeable.He explained the menu and was very helpful during the meal.I would go again!!!

    If you are unfamiliar with the Navy Yard the location may be a bit hard to find because the names are not super established on the buildings, which is understandable as they are old Naval Yard buildings, look for the little signs with directional arrows that point you toward the correct building. Once there you will need to take an elevator up to the Penthouse and there Riva Mare awaits! can't wait to go back. We enjoyed this outing so much, it was our anniversary dinner and from the time we checked in until the time we left, the experience was amazing!
