Great food, nice atmosphere! Spacious comfortable seating.
The Riverview was quiet as we had one of the first reservations of the day. The reduced menu is nicely varied with something for everyone.
Food is very good. Ambience is nice. Service is great. Ask to sit in Natalie's section. She is a great waitress & will put a smile on your face.
We went on Wednesday night for their 4 course special and our meals were fabulous.
We pretty much fell upon this place and boy we’re we happy we did! Amazing food, amazing drinks, and amazing service! Couldn’t have asked for more! Need to go back to taste some of the other dishes on the menu...too many great options to choose from. Manager even gave us a tour of the upstairs lounge! Great place to spent the evening with friends!!
The waiter seem scattered and was not very attentive. The crabcakes were almost burned. They were too salty and did not have really good flavor at all. The beet salad was good but not great! Love the look of the place and the ambience.
Food and service was amazing!! Definitely will go again!
Food was excellent and so was the waitress. Food for the toddlers came out quite quickly. However, the children were almost finished eating before adults received their meals. Wait time was a bit much:{
In between spot for meeting my brother. We met for brunch.....would definitely go back.
Valentine’s Day date night (a day early) with my husband was lovely at the Riverview. We ordered the pork loin and the rib eye both of which exceeded our expectations! A beautiful atmosphere with delicious food made a memorable evening.
A little cold in the dining area. The food was strangely dry. My wife had a seafood risotto that lacked creaminess and was mushy. I had the pork chop with an arugula salad, and rosemary roasted potatoes. The salad was a dry mixed green salad 1 piece of arugula and the potatoes were dry and lacked any rosemary. On the positive side the brussel sprouts and the warm bread appetizer were delicious. Will never return.
Good downtown location. Eclectic menu. Very good service.
Went to the Riverview this past weekend with several others. ( side note- given the construction of condos you can no longer see the river).
We had reservations and we were quickly seated. It wasn’t very busy- the room was about half full. The service was both attentive and slow- the speed of getting asked was good but the delivery time was a bit longer than it should have been.
Everyone mostly enjoyed their food and drinks- although the risotto my wife had was very bland. Portions were fine and items were served as requested. It just took very long for it to arrive- others who came in about the same time were finishing up before we were even served. The waitress did apologize and I suspect someone in the kitchen messed one or more of the orders and things had to be remade.
The cost of the dinner was fine about $ 45 per person including an average of one alcoholic drink per person and the tip.
I definitely would return but just not be concerned about doing so quickly.
We were a party of 6. Meals were very slow to come out which in and of itself I would have let slide. Had to ask our server twice. 4 of the meals came out. After about 10-15 minutes the 5th meal came out. After another 10 minutes we cancelled the 6th meal. The manger brought out a meal explaining that they ran out of the ribeye and were substituting it with something else but by that point we just said to cancel it. Not sure why they just did not immediately say that and ask to pick something else. Manager came over and apologized but did not explain the slow service. Waitress then came over and said won’t charge for that meal (of course) and the liquor and coffee/dessert would be on the house. There appears to be a serious problem with the kitchen and not the servers and based on previous reviews I have read this certainly was not an isolated incident.
We did not take them up on the coffee/dessert as we were already there well over 2 hours. Food was not bad, scallops (4) and risotto was good, my wife said her filet was done a bit closer to well than the medium she had requested but she said the brussel sprouts were good.
Won’t be going back.
The best as usual and always accommodating to my wife who is a vegan
Food was terrific, but the service was a little slow and the the dining room was really noisy.
Perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and warmly served in a classy space.
Waited an hour to be seated with a reservation. Otherwise good
My wife and I were the sole diner on the night the Eagles and Giants played. The upstairs crown was indeed energetic thus my "date night" with my wife of 45 years was not quiet. My baaad for not realizing that a pre-playoff game would engender vocal enthusiasm. No faults there. Olivia our hostess was trying her best but could benefit from some mentoring. I like the place and will come back. The food is
consistently very good, prices fair and you have at least 1 non-alcoholic beer that is not O'Doules.
Food outstanding. Service very good. Even brought us a new table as someone in my party complained about a wobbly table (in all honesty it was an issue as the drinks kept spilling). They did it right away. Then we moved to the bar after eating and had a great night till closing. Drinks were very good with a good selection of craft beers.
This was a lovely place for brunch and I'm glad we got there before the apartment building, currently under construction, inhibits more of the view. Our server was friendly, but somewhat inefficient and had to be asked more than once for several items. My friend had the Berry and Waffle stack which looked (and she said tasted) really good. She also had a side of smoke salmon which I tasted and was quite tasty. I had the Eggs in Purgatory and was presented with, what could best be described as, a flavorful yet soupy mess. The volume of "pureed heirloom tomatoes" left the dish overwhelmed and difficult to eat and only 3 thin slices of chorizo were to be found. The dish was tasty, but about 1/3 of the tomato mixture would easily have sufficed. I will return to the Riverview and have another go because the server was pleasant, the ambiance is lovely and the menu is good. I'll just stay out of Purgatory in the future.
It was a bit disappointing that the restaurant did not let us know that there was a holiday parade in town and they were hosting a big holiday party which held up our reservation by 45 minutes. The response to our inquiry as to why is was taking so long to be seated was "we have to wait until the kitchen says its ok to seat you because we hosting a big party upstairs". I found this odd and rude. The reservation was made a week before, I feel they could have let us know. The service at the bar was absolutely awful, we waited 15 mins for a drink. The food was good and our waiter was wonderful.
Very nice. Waiter was great and staff very pleasant
The meals are consistently good/very good. Service is always good. Excellent River "Views" They always have at least 1 non-alcoholic beer other than ODoule;s. Because of the glass walls you get a great view but when busy the background noise can interfere with polite conversation'. I still like to talk to my dinner partner and have not learned to shout over entrees.
I am over 60 so consider my comments in light of my age. Thanks MPM
Never disappointed with Riverview. Food is always delicious. Wine, beer and cocktail menus also awesome
The food was nothing special. The restaurant was cold inside (poor heating I guess). Then, with at least 6 tables open, we were made to wait over 40 minutes because they were backed up. They did buy us a round of drinks. Staff was very nice. Food came out slow and not worth the wait. Go somewhere else....
Shrimp was excellent. My wife had salmon and it was good. My fish and chips were good. Waiters did a nice job. View is great. Our dessert - a key lime cheesecake was poor. Coffee was poor and that is hard to do. Nice place for apps and a drink.
Went to the Riverview for breakfast. It's been a while since I was there last. Love the remodeled look and new menu. The wait staff is the greatest. Food was the best. I checked out their dinner menu - I'll be back for that.
Service was horrendous, but food was amazing.
Made reservations for my family coming an hour away in PA on a rainy Sunday. Everything about this restaurant was a positive Food, decor, drinks. But especially the service! I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food and atmosphere.
Had a good meal at this restaurant. I will be sad when the view of the river will be blocked by the three or four story condos they’re building right in front of it :(
Much better than before. Prices were good and the portions very large. The restaurant is very pretty and clean. My only suggestion is to have a few more upscale items
Delicious food, amazing drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere. Service tends to be a little slow. You wait some time for your drinks and to order/receive your food. Overall it is worth the wait.
Tried Riverview for a business dinner and was glad I picked it. Food was great. everyone enjoyed the place and the menu.
Riverview is a beautiful place. The food is very good and not too expensive. The view and the service is wonderful.
"I loved the open bright view of the river – like a view from a vacation destination. Free parking was a few steps from the door. The braised short ribs were amazing and the presentation was beautiful. Service was well-timed and friendly and a great affordable wine selection.I definitely would return to try more dishes. "
WE ALWAYS ENJOY GOING TO THE RIVERVIEW. SERVICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY GOOD. MENU OFFERS A VARIETY OF OPTIONS AND PRICES, ALL GOOD QUALITY.
Drinks were not good. Bloody Mary was basically alcohol and tomato juice, no celery or horseradish or worcestershire sauce. Crackers served with soup were stale. But the biggest issue was the noise level. You could not carry on a conversation with the person seated across from you.
First time to Riverview. Very good experience. The service was great staff pleasant and cheerful. Good view. Comfortable seating. Very good food .We will be back.
