Our waiter Damian was very attentive. The service was great and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend. And will be returning.
Always good food and reasonably priced. Family orientated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Look forward to going back.
Waiter was overwhelmed said he had too many tables and no one wants to work. Never came over when our food came out to check on our food. Never was offered or got Parmesan cheese bus boy knocked the beer over on the table. Didn’t get a new one until after asking twice and it was the wrong beer.. After that he never came back we had to flag down the bus boy to get a dessert menu. Waiter still never came by. Hostess walked by we asked her for the check. Finally waiter came over with our check said sorry and that if we don’t leave a tip he understands but no one wants to work. I get the place is short staffed but it doesn’t give you a reason to just not come by our table.
Hi Jill: All customer feedback is important for us to improve our service. Staffing has been a challenge, but that is no excuse to make our customers wait. Sorry for the inconvenience and we hope you will visit us again. We have a new chef and he is bringing exciting new things to our menu.
Sorry I would love to give this place a better review but I just can't. Love the location and the ambiance but the food has been disappointing every time I give it a shot. Broccoli rabe with sausage was a dish of penne in water. Eggplant Parm was horrible. Red Sauce was very good but the prepared from frozen (it seems) eggplant Sliced way to thin and so over cooked that it turned to dry pieces of shoe leather drenched in sauce and cheese to bring it back to life was terrible. Waiter agreed and sent it back to bring me another that was no different. We were charged but they bought us a drink on the house. Cavetelli with meatballs was good. Chicken sorrentino was ok...Chicken was poached in a sauce (not floured or breaded) a bit rubbery. Tiramassu was very good... Homemade I believe and would have been so much better if it wasn't over soaked in a bowl of coffee.
A dress code for the hostess should be addressed as well....on a more positive note... The fried mozzerella was very good and so was the antipaste salad, location is great, pretty inside, nice bar area and outside dinning area. Such great potential but the food, the most important part, needs to be addressed before it's too late...We had dined there for the first time a couple of weeks ago for the first time and witnessed the table next to us send just about everything back and thought there was something wrong with them. We went back the other night and it was our turn...
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry your visit did not meet your expectations. We are working to improve and actually just brought on a new chef who will be making changes to our menu as well in the near future. We hope you will give us another try in future.
I really like this restaurant, but every time I go you have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for your drink. Two simple glasses of wine ordered when the restaurant was nearly empty arrived mid- meal. It’s a bit frustrating and really does happen every time I go.
Great food snd service!!
A beautiful place to celebrate Father’s Day where the food, service and value were all incredible. We will be going again in the near future.
We were quite surprised with this place. We shared an appetizer of calamari which we thought was good. Nice and crispy, not too oily. She had the fish special with risotto and she delighted in it. I had a ribeye in bone with small round roasted potatoes - for some the potatoes may he’s been slightly over cooked but I like them that way. The ribeye I ordered medium rare but came closer to medium. But it was good. I’m not that picky. Drinks were fabulous. She had the watermelon margarita and I had a vanilla orange old fashion. We took the Tiramisu dessert home and it was delicious. Moist not dry.
We have gone to Ruggero’s a number of times and were never disappointed- until now. Food has always been great in the past. This time the salmon entree was underdone even though it was requested it be “cooked through, medium to well”. By the time our waiter brought it back everyone else had finished.
Service was poor. Our server was indifferent at best and inattentive. Although they did not appear to be understaffed, several times we tried to get the attention of another server just to ask them to get our waiter and they would look our way, then pass by. My husband, who never complains, actually sought out the manager.
The final flaw was the way too hot dining room. It was a hot, humid day so we chose to dine inside ‘to be cool’. If the air conditioners were on, they were woefully inadequate. All in all, our experience was a major disappointment.
Great food and service at very reasonable prices!
Friendly staff, good food, good service, safe and clean - what more could you ask for?
Friendly staff, everyone enjoyed their food (Angus burger & chicken sandwich) great location for girls day out.
Wonderful meal and wonderful service!! We will definitely be back!!!
Pricy. Everything is alacart. This is a wading River family restaurant. Higher prices then some NYC prices. I would go back again.
Nice atmosphere. The menu has a nice selection of entrees. Only wish there were more vegan and gluten-free options as this is the new norm now. A menu with those options would be a home run. The food was tasty & seasoned perfectly with ample portions. The service was impeccable including the bar. The location has easy parking with a short stride to the restaurant.
The ambiance is everything! Staff was extremely friendly and the food was good. No complaints!
I made a reservation for 7. Received a confirmation and when we all got there, there was a note saying the restaurant was closed. I received no text, email or phone call. It was a huge problem.
Enjoyable and great accommodations for large family like ours! Food was average, but service made up for it! Beautiful place and a carousel across from the front of restaurant for kiddies.
very nice evening out with my family. the food was very good the portions were very big and the price was resonable.
Fried artichoke was so-so. Bread served cold. Shrimp scampi was in a thick flavorless sauce with no hint of garlic. Chicken Marsala gravy was reminiscent of a packaged turkey gravy. Disappointing! Carlos our server was great. The service was outstanding. The rest wasn’t.
State came out wrong I sent the steak back it came back burnt manager Alyssa would not come over to speak to us
Food was excellent - service was great and we celebrated my daughters birthday - great family restaurant
Excellent food and wonderful service. We'll be back for sure
The atmoshphere is very nice, however we were somewhat disappointed with the food. There definitly was a change since the last tmie we were ther. The Buratta appetizer was excellent and great presentation as was the brownie sundae dessert (which by the way MUST be shared, it is huge) but the bolognese as well as the Veal Marsala was just eh. It was a rainy night and slow, the waiter was very nice but he was uninformed about wines. They offered a home made wine but discouraged us from having it and the wine we chose was just ok. It could have been an off night in the kitchen, but I think they need to step it up a bit.
We had a very nice evening. Our server was professional and very sweet. The food was outstanding and as usual the portions were huge.
service a bit spotty...not very attentive. had to get their attention to come to the table after we waited a very long time. the restaurant wasn't crowded, the service should have been better.
We dined on a Thursday which is Pasta Night. Several delicious choices for entrees including soup/salad, glass of house wine, and coffee/dessert. We had excellent service from Ann Marie and the food was excellent. Happy to return.
We went to my birthday and had Pasta special. Everything was terrific!
We went for pasta night. My husband had the salad which was fresh. I had the lentil soup which was tasteless. Pasta night is just that, if you want a meatball with your Marinara and Penn its extra, silly. So ofcourse, my husband added a meatball for on top of his pasta and I added shrimp onto of my pasta and broccoli. I hate when companies nickel and dime people. Just add it to the price . Pasta night $19.95 instead of $16.95 and offer a complete meal.
Arrived at restaurant with party of 5. Even though I was able to book reservation , rest was closed. Horrible, not recommended
Excellent food and service, great ambience and reasonable prices for what it delivers. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a nice lunch in the back patio area. I think this will be a nice addition for the summer months. Had the penne a la vodka as well as sausage and ricotta sandwich… Both very flavorful.
The food is always fantastic, would definitely be going back. It’s my wife’s favorite restaurant
The Shrimp Fra Diavolo over linguini is always outstanding. The presentation today was especially nice. There is also a nice mix of shrimp, clams and mussels - so many places overwhelm with mussels and skimp on the shrimp and others - but here it is always a really nice balance. Outstanding meal - every time
always delicious food and a pleasant dining experience at Ruggeros!
Food was delicious. Service was efficient. Waiter was super nice and made sure I was happy. Can’t wait to return!
Food and service was great cant wait to go back again
Fantastic presentation of entrees, salads and desserts. Pasta night, Wednesday, was a plus as it was not expected. Very good deal on a house wine, soup or salad, pasta dish and dessert and coffee/tea. A perfect meal. Service was outstanding. Definitely will return.
Went on pasta night. The food was very good and the quantity was more than enough. We got some sides fo go along with the pasta as well and they were great too. Not too crowded and not noisy. Will be returning soon.
