Devon Mist, Cider - Traditional 4.5% ABV Sandford Orchards, Crediton, Devon
Devon Mist is a gentle joy. Unfiltered and expertly blended to create a medium, cloudy session cider, bursting with autumnal fruit and a long, satisfying finish. Our fertile corner of Devon is the perfect place to grow cider apples. It's why Devon Mist is fermented from freshly pressed cider varieties (never concentrate!) all grown within 30 miles of our press at The Cider Works in Crediton. #TrueToOurRoots. Serving Sizes: Pint
Citra, Golden Ale 4.2% ABV Oakham Ales, Peterborough, England
Cask ABV: 4.2%, Bottle ABV: 4.6% Light gold in colour, bursting with citrus and tropical hop flavours and sensationally refreshing. The original UK Citra. In 2009 on his annual hop sourcing visit to the USA, Oakham's Brewing Director John Bryan discovered an exceptional new hop variety - Citra. He rushed it to the UK, ensuring that Oakham Ales were the first UK brewery to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops and maintaining Oakham's reputation for pioneering innovation. Citra Golden Ale 4.2% ABV Oakham Ales Peterborough, England
Blonde, Wipers Times 14 Belgian Blonde 6.2% ABV Brouwerij Kazematten, Ypres, Vlaanderen
Wipers Times 14 is a blond beer of high fermentation, brewed with 4 grains, 4 herbs and only local hops. The name of the beer is a reference to the 'trench gazette' which was printed in the 'Kazematten' by British Soldiers during the First World War. It was printed on a printing press they salvaged from the ruins of the destroyed city of Ypres. Wipers is the nickname soldiers gave to the city of Ypres, deliberately mispronounced as Wipers. One of the herbs that is used to flavor the beer is the seed of the medicinal Saint Mary's Thistle, also called 'blessed thistle'. This thistle can be found on the front page of the newspaper and on the label of the beer. 14 stands for the density of the beer (14° Plato). Serving Sizes: 33cl
Loved my visit here The food was great and the place has loads of interesting art and brewery memorabilia
Love it here. Staff, food, drinks and venue are brilliant.
Would like the app to order to continue
We just went for a Sunday afternoon pint and it was great - as it always is. Even post-lockdown they have kept the table service going, which is excellent because it means there is no scrum at the bar. Still Cheltenham’s best pub!
Our first visit coincided with cider festival so could not experience hot food which I had heard lots about. However cheeseboard was great but just felt it lacked some bread & celery ... Bar staff very knowledgable.
Great cheese and cider festival. Why not do a beer & sausage festival at some point as well!
As always great food and drink love the garden and always so peaceful
A very reasonbly priced pub menu. The food was good (I had the chickpea burger which was delicious), service was excellent, lovely quiet garden. Have been before, will definitely be back.
As always the Alehouse copes with the rigours of dealing with customers during the pandemic in a smooth and efficient way. Of course the beer and food is right on the money and it is clearly one of the best pubs in Cheltenham.
Broad and varied menu with lots of choices on offer for both meat lovers and plant-based diets.
Staff are very welcoming and accommodating, and show you to your pre-booked table with efficiency.
I'm not a beer or lager drinker but the range on offer accommodates all tastes. Importantly this pub knows its wines and offers New Zealand options which is perfect for me.
The garden seating is well spaced so you don't feel as if you're encroaching on the next group's conversation, or indeed they on yours.
Lovely setting, super staff and amazing quality of food and fluids.
Thank you Sandford Ale House, see you soon.
Good quality, good value and delicious pub food served quickly and efficiently by friendly staff.
There were mice running round everywhere outside. We saw 5 mice whilst sat outside in two hours. This is a vermin problem and really needs addressing as the venue staff and food where lovely apart from this. Won’t be returning until the vermin problem is sorted.
Good Morning, Firstly thank you very much for your review and your kind comments regarding our staff! However, the mice you saw are actually Water Voles coming from the river directly behind us. These are a protected species, as mentioned in our social media posts, and will be no harm to you or anyone else. We receive regular pest control inspections who have given us a clean bill of health and help keep "vermin" at bay. So I do hope you come to visit again soon and embrace the local wildlife.
As ever, an excellent afternoon in the Sandford Park Ale House. Although we didnt eat on the day I could see other customers chomping on gorgeous looking burgers etc.
Great selection of beers and despite the social distancing stuff we managed to get served fairly quickly and had a lovely afternoon sesh.
Risotto cooled too quickly, my burger was very good
Very enjoyable, garden table made a big difference
Pleasant afternoon old pals reunion
Excellent ales in a convivial atmosphere
Efficient unobtrusive service.
Didn’t sample food but previous visits observed what appeared to be good cuisine.
Many more visits to come.
This is one of the best town pubs I have visited. Plenty of space, including a large garden, exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable service and very tasty food, a little different from the norm. The range of beers, ciders and other drinks is outstanding.
Excellent food and beer. Would definitely recommend.
Very helpful staff. Good choice of ale and tasty roast
Father’s Day meal
Fantastic food. The roast beef was exceptional I’m fact my father said it was the best beef he’s had in years!!! Fantastic service will definitely be back 5 ⭐️
Service was good with the young waiter and waitresses. The fillet steak must have been the smallest I’ve ever seen! Not good value for money. The other meals were fine so just avoid the fillet steak! It was cold in the garden and despite having many patio heaters, none of them had any gas in. Only some tables had an umbrella that barely covered the table. I suggest avoid booking a table outside unless the weather forecast is hot and dry!!
I’m afraid I had to send my steak back as it was cold. The kitchen didn’t have any more so I had the fish, which was lovely. Staff were fab 👍
Thanks for another great experience. As good as ever!
Great service and selection of drinks. Food is delicious too.
Relaxed atmosphere, great beers and food, a great place to meet friends
Birthday day out .. The staff were amazing, so friendly , chatty and accommodating. The food was fantastic! Might be my new local :)
I would like to say that their burger was excellent, moist & juicy and their peanut butter brownie was delicious. Also excellent service and great ciders.
Just as great as it’s always been. Nobody on phones, everyone talking away. That’s why it’s a proper ale house.
Sat outside in the garden area which was well kept, attractive and full by mid evening. An excellent selection of both craft and cask ales is back, and the food was excellent, a step above the basic pub food they used to offer. Service quick and friendly. What's not to like?
Always a great Atmosphere with friendly staff. It’s become my local now so love coming here. Food is great too and never have to wait long.
Your review system does not allow for people just having a social drink. We did not have any food so had to 'rate' as poor!!
We had two tables outside in the garden. Very well organised and waited upon. They have an app but us old duffers prefer the table service.
Will be back next month.
Great quick service. Accidentally ordered a wrong item and was sorted straight away. Also asked for a modification on an item and they did it without hesitation. Very happy overall!
Wonderful pub, wonderful staff, wwonderful real ales.
Went for lunch on Sunday. Veggie roast was amazing. Lovely nut roast, with delicious veg and roasties. Mushroom and walnut gravy was really good addition. Veggie roasts can be a let down but this is a real treat. Get in my belly.
Didn't have food today, but service etc as good as ever. Thanks.
Great staff and lively well spaced outdoor seating and vibe
Love this place friendly staff chilled out atmosphere excellent ale
Wonderful as always.. great selection of beers. Didnt have food but it looked delicious! It would be good if the app remembered your card details, so you didnt need to input it each time (or there was an option to use google pay/paypal) and/or there was an option not the use the app...
Great as always! Food and service quick. Would definitely recommend the fish and chips!
