The Lemon Ricotta pancakes were superb! Great service and the ambiance was charming. I would definitely go back.
We had a lovely brunch. The food was delicious as always. I had the short rib hash and my friends had pancakes and French toast. They hadn't been before and would definitely come again.

We came in late (9:00 pm) for dinner. It was terrific. I had the steak frites which was excellent--especially the french fries. Everyone in my party was happy with their entree choices, too. The bread basket with muffins was warm and tasty. Also, I enjoyed a berry margarita from the cocktail menu. Thank you to the waitress who stayed late and didn't rush us. She was the best!

Classic UWS establishment. Can’t go wrong with breakfast foods. Salmon was cooked well but nothing special.

The food wasn’t as good as I had remembered it. Also the pricing was too high for what you got.
Food was really good. Service was beyond terrible. Had to wait 20 minutes just get a drink order. Ordered drinks and food together. Food came out 45 minutes after our drinks then we had to wait another 20 minutes after we were done eating for the bill. If it wasn’t for my wife wanting to stay I would have left in the first ten minutes. I’m still not sure who our waiter was.

Food very disappointing, especially at this price point. Reminded me of airline food. Skirt steak ($30) was about a 4 oz size. Lobster bisque served barely lukewarm and had to be sent back. We left hungry and will not return.
Sarabeth’s is a dependable UWS haunt. Been here for years and always (somehow) comes through. This Valentine’s Day the roses were a particularly nice touch.
The only down moment -- of course there was one -- was how we were treated after objecting to being led to a table by the kitchen door. After a vehement argument, in which the Maître d’ tried to justify himself by convincing us that people “LIKE” to sit there, we were redirected to a perfectly nice table. One closer in to the main dining area and clearly visible as we sailed by it on our way to the back.
Sir, if you are reading this, “NO!” People do not enjoy dining by the kitchen door when other more convivial tables are idling empty. ‘Nough said.
Sarabeth’s is always enjoyable. Reliably good food with lots of great options and seasonal favorites. Excellent service- upbeat, friendly and efficient. Outstanding bar. Try the gelato for dessert. This is probably our favorite restaurant in the Upper West.
The food and the service were very good, my chief complaint was that we were seated next to the door when there were tables available at the back. Oblivious New Yorkers wouldn’t pull the door shut on a night when it was 20*, so we were blasted with cold air about every 10 minutes during our meal.

Our server seemed to be on another planet. He was running all over the place and it seemed like he wasn’t accomplishing much. After we finished our appetizers he asked with the bill in his hand if we wanted anything else? We hadn’t even gotten our entrees yet. We asked for water about 3 times before it came. When he replaced our set ups, he remarked to my wife that oh, you still have a knife and then proceeded to give her another knife. If it wasn’t for the busers, I don’t think we would have gotten anything unless we asked multiple times. I asked for an after dinner drink & he acted as if he had never heard of it. This is fine, but he didn’t know about any types of after dinner drinks. He just seemed like he was in the weeds at all times, yet it wasn’t crowded or any real reason for his flightiness except he just wasn’t that good.
THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR UWS LOCATION: Ive been to other Sarabeth locations and have had great experiences. However, the food and service at the UWS location was terrible. I was seated for 15 min before anyone approached out table--I had to ask the host to send a server. The drinks were weak, the burrata appetizer was very small and firm(was it old?), I had the skirt steak that was room temperature and cold fries. I wanted to send back but the server didn't come back to the table for a long time. I was hungry and had tickets to a show otherwise I would've gotten up again to ask for our server. Also, our glasses were empty for most of the dinner. I wanted to switch to wine but guess it wasn't in the cards. I'd go back to Sarabeths for brunch in Tribeca or Park Ave but I'd never go to this UWS location again.
The waiter and service staff were good and friendly but they were VERY busy covering many tables. The food was very good. The crab guacamole was incredible, extremely fresh. We had the chicken pot pie, that had a wonderful flavor and the short ribs which were excellent. Of course we needed to try a dessert, even though we were quite full. The passion fruit tart was light and quite flavorful. Even after a cocktail the bill was reasonable for the upper west side. I would definitely go again!
Half of the meals ordered by the table were not good (notably not good: tomato soup + grilled cheese entree and the avocado toast appetizer). Felt like our table was being neglected by the waitstaff, no one came to check on us. Our reservation was seated for 30 minutes late. We arrived on time and the table was not ready.
The Restaurant Week menu is sublime! Steamed clams bruschetta were amazing; short ribs were tender and delicious, carrot cake was stupendous. Some of the best food we've ever eaten. Seriously!
