It's been wonderful to have Schilling back! The food is as great as ever.
We ate outside near a gas heater and was quite comfortable. The schnitzle was large and delicious and I love the accompanying salads and lingonberry sauce. The wait staff was great and friendly, constantly filling my water and wine glasses. I have eaten here before and love everything on the menu. A good value also.
Great local spot with cosy atmosphere, delicious food, tasty cocktails and very attentive staff. Look no more.
The Thanksgiving Menu was outstanding! Very good quality, will go there for dinner more frequently.
Everyone should eat here . Incredible cuisine, simple yet delicious, and amazing value .
My friend and I had a wonderful experience here. The food and service was outstanding. Will for sure be back!
The menu seemed more limited compared to a visit here several years ago. Maybe it's covid-related, to keep things easier? Most of the entrees were sandwiches and such. The burger and turkey reuben were underwhelming. But it was a pleasant dining experience and I really appreciate it as one of the neighborhood restaurants offering outdoor dining.
Google revealed several restaurants near my hotel. The menu looked interesting. When I saw how close it was I decided to make a reservation and give it a try. I was not disappointed! The service was excellent as was the food. Schilling certainly is on my list of places to which to return should I be in the area again.
Fantastic meal with the nicest staff!
Great all around. Service, food ambiance all good.
Noise of conversations subsided as the lunch hour passed. Service was terrific, relaxed as we wished, and the surroundings comfortable. Very enjoyable meal.
Great as usual
Service was horrid. Gave us a bad communal table despite a reservation. Somebody else ordered off of regular menu when we were told that only Valentine’s Day special menu was available. Servers didn’t care about patrons
Reserved table for a birthday dinner at 5:30pm because we have a kid with us and didn’t want to bother other customers. We were the 1st customers there but waited until 6:30pm before our mediocre entrees came out. Rushed out around 6:45-6:50pm because someone else reserved our table for 7:00pm. Horrible service despite us stating that it’s a birthday dinner. Food was mediocre and we won’t be back for sure!
My friend and I both ordered the wiener schnitzel, and shared the bratwurst as an appetizer. The bratwurst (with the beans) was outstanding. We both said it was one of the hetter ones we’ve had in the city. The schnitzel was also good. We’d definitely be back for the savory dishes. Pass on the dessert however. We’d ordered the chocolate souffle and the apple strudel. Unfortunately, the souffle was not what you’d normally expect, despite assurances from the waiter that it was. Turns out its more like a chocolate cake. Apple strudel was a bit heavy as well.
Enjoyed lunch. Attentive service. Not rushed. Spaetzle was generous in size and excellent and Avocado Toast with egg was very good. Panna Cotta and Apple Strudel were excellent.
Have had dinner and drinks at this place a number of times, b
Great ambiance, friendly service, consistent kitchen ... we are happy regulars now.
Small restaurant with outsized personality and excellent fare. The seating is a bit cramped, though, but some might find this dynamic. Recommended.
The food was excellent, the service could be described as lackadaisical. There were two of us sitting at the bar when we arrived and yet, we had to wait for the bartender to finish setting up before we could order drinks. The bartender didn't understand that "on the rocks" mean a drink served on an ice-cube, and obviously didn't know how to prepare the cocktails on the menu. During the meal, we had to chase our server for follow-up, which was strange because the restaurant wasn't very crowded. All in all, good food, but not extraordinary, the service distracted from the experience.
Very crowded, so service wasn't terrific, but the atmosphere was fun and you weren't rushed.
A little pricey, especially the salmon which didn't come with anything. The ruben sandwich was delicious. Ironically it came with fries, which should have accompanied the salmon.
Such a great spot in the neighborhood. The food is delicious and nicely presented. The staff is always inviting and attentive without bugging you. Love it
Love the ambiance. A little hidden gem in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the financial center and Freedom Tower neighborhood. Excellent cocktails and nice wines by the glass. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation.
The Schilling is a great find. Usually consistently good food and it's a cozy spot which makes it an ideal quick lunch or casual dinner spot.
Great menu, delicious food, great service, great atmosphere! Thank you.
Great place - it’s such a solid, local, cute restaurant with great food and wine list. The staff and ambiance are excellent! It is my go-to down in that area - a tucked away gem.
My friend and I really enjoyed Schilling, though don't choose this restaurant if you're in a big hurry (which, luckily, we were not). The food was spectacular, the ambience lovely and relaxed, and the service was very friendly and attentive, if a bit more leisurely than I'm used to. Would absolutely go back!
Service was abysmal. The ticket times were awful, but the food and drinks were great.
Fantastic gem tucked away in FiDi - the food was exceptionally good. Each dish was meticulous in execution and hit the spot on flavor, texture, appeal and taste. Highly recommend the roast chicken, brussel sprouts, schnitzel and burrata among others.
Food was delicious and service was great. Beyond cute atmosphere. Wonderful restaurant!
We live close by and dine there very often. It is charming and pleasant, the staff is attentive and the food is flawlessly prepared. The set up is cool and tasteful, and well suited for a nice dinner with friends or business associates.
Food and service were both excellent! We loved our waitress – didn't get her name but she's a petite blond and said she's from Poland. A shout out to her; she was friendly, helpful, attentive and she made the experience lovely!
The portions are WAY TOO SMALL.
I ordered the chickpea stew and the bowl are ridiculous small and cost 17 dólars.
The place is
Cute, but the food is not so good.
This is a little gem in the financial district. The menu is petite but wholesome. Everything is delicious including their wines. The seating is close and the space is small, but it makes for an intimate experience. The staff is fantastic, genuine and lovely.
Great food, well prepared, very pleasant staff. Would definitely go back again.
Very disappointed with dinner service. Entrees came to the table before appetizers were finished. Food was nothing special and panna cotta dessert was tasteless. Air conditioner leaked into seating area during meal. Would not return or recommend when there are so many other dining options in the area.
Amazing food. It was a good choice for restaurant week.
An incredible Austrian-inspired restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious food! We had the good fortune of visiting during NYC's Restaurant Week and had an exceptional prixe fix 3-course meal for $42 each (fresh balsamic and tomato salad, scallops with morel mushrooms, wiener schnitzel, pesto spaetzl and apple strudels). Loved it and would absolutely visit again!
We love this restaurant but if you’re not going to write down the orders of 6 people, you better get the orders right. We went for Restaurant Week, and it went as you would expect it. Wrong orders came out, and when asking for no dairy because of an actual allergy (not lactose intolerance, a legit allergy) but you get ice cream on dessert - that’s not okay. So from apps, to main, to dessert. The orders were wrong.
Food and drinks were great! Very tight seating but cozy atmosphere. Server was very helpful and knowledgeable.
