Good food (bruschetta, burgers), nice waiter, fun room. We had a booth by the windows overlooking the streetscape. We’ll be back.
The Korean BBQ hash was splendid. The flavors never dulled , which stands in contrast to the Bison hash, which became mundane over time. The over-sized pita chips, or whatever they were, need to be made to order. Mine were rather on the soggy side, as if they were left in a covered tray over a water bath. The boozy milkshakes are a must. They also have one of the better bloody mary mixes I've had in the city. I had the bloody maria, out of my preference for tequila on Sundays. (Vodka is for rookies that don't take their pleasure seriously.)
Pro tip 1: Have them add an extra shot of whatever, because the single (half measure?) didn't really shine through. I had the oreo, which needed a bit more Kahlua to make it excellent.
Pro tip 2: If you order a boozy shake, it comes from the bar area, which only has small straws. You will have to ask your server for the regular milkshake straws in order to make this drink even remotely possible.
The short ribs are excellent -- tender, spicy and with great sides -- especially the asparagus -- also shared the Labneh toast as an appetizer which was unique and delicious and enough for two. Will go back soon to try many other offerings that looked interesting. We were there on a Wednesday night and their were plenty of tables available. The booths are good places for conversation with no one sitting too close.
Brunch serving size and presentation was bad. On top of that, the service was pretty disappointing. Would not recommend overall.
Second time here with our kids- will be back! Service ambiance and food all good! Thank you!
This is one of our favorite neighborhood places. It never disappoints--for lunch or for dinner. Excellent service, good food, lots of choice.
I really want to like Silver but the food always disappoints. Every item just has one too many slightly odd ingredients. Case in point the avocado toast which had dried out pomegranate seeds, radishes, herbs and a whole lot of other crazy on it. Or the bagel and lox with goat cheese not cream cheese. Simple is good.
I live in RVA so DC is a frequent getaway spot. I woke up early Sunday morning browsing brunch spots that were near my hotel but not pricey. I found Silver and it was an awesome decision! My party and I were immediately greeted and seated after giving reservation confirmation. The waitress was nice and knew the menu like the back of her hand. EVERYTHING we ordered was great and food was out in a timely manner! I will definitely go back the next time I am in DC.
Fantastic atmosphere! Friendly service, delicious food.
It was an outstanding place to catch up with a friend for a weekday lunch, not noisy and great service
Corn and crab chowder showed little sign of crab. Hanger steak just ok. Good salad
I did not like the live music. It was too loud and disruptive to my conversation with my friends.
Food was just OK-bland, ordinary. Service was fast and meals arrived w/o delay. Nice location, great looking bar
I love the Whitney Houston and Sam Smith selections on the evening of January 21. Really helped my mood!
We love this place. Great service and delicious food!
Just came here on a whim after a spin class and loved it! Probably one of the best brunches I’ve had in awhile- the food was fabulous and so were the drinks! Wasn’t really sure what to expect and was very happy :-)
I went to dinner with a friend. We were seated immediately. Our server was pleasant and accommodating. We both had entree salads that were quite large and delicious.
Excellent overall, but it was too noisy for normal conversation.
More upscale than the Silver Diners, this Silver specializes in local food and creative cuisine. It also allows for customizations. The food was terrific, as was the service. Will definitely be back.
I had requested pancakes with bacon and eggs, but asked if I could be served eggs and bacon first then bring out the pancakes later.
After a very long wait the server brought out eggs, bacon and my pancakes.
I’m not surprised the server got it wrong because she never wrote down anything while taking my order.
the menu offers a wide range of options--from a great burger to roasted tomatoes
Delightful addition to Cleveland Park. Good service and food. Nice menu with all day brunch food options. Handcrafted cocktails are good.
Food and service were ok, but the restaurant was blazing hot!
The food is excellant aslthough some might consider some dishes too spicy. Wait staff is consistently friendly and polite. Only moderate noise so you can eaxily hold a conversation.
This was the third visit and we like Silver for casual lunches. Haven't tried dinner yet. One complaint: I ordered the smoked salmon omelette which was fine mix of tastes and ingredients. But it was lukewarm as if it had been sitting on a warming table rather than freshly cooked.
We like Silver a lot. Tonight we ordered appetizers and our dinner was served before finishing appetizers...a bit too rushed.
We had the yummy Brussels sprouts, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and Cobb salad. The food was good. Service was a bit slow at times, but overall a fine experience.
I'm a longtime fan of the original Silver Diner, so I knew I'd love the food here as well. We were so excited to learn that one was opening in our neighborhood and attended the launch just before our child was born. Since then I've been there a number of times with my new moms' group, for lunch on weekdays, and the staff is always exceedingly accommodating of all of us, our babies, and our accompanying gear. Also, it's refreshing to eat in a restaurant that is so friendly to gluten-free diners. Yes, it's a little pricey, but the $10 lunch specials are a good value. I usually spend a bit more than I'd like to but it's worth it.
This is a great and welcome addition to the neighborhood.
We love Silver for brunch, but the service for our first and last visit for dinner this week was atrocious. Clearly the bartender/server did not want to be there and her attitude reflected that. The food is very good, and the service for brunch on the three occasions we visited was excellent.
Our food was yummy....Eggs Benedict and omelette with smoked salmon and goat cheese. Our waitress was Allison and she was excellent!
Superb service and great food.
My wife and I ate at Silver rather early, on our way to a nearby event. We just had small plates-- tuna tartare, bruschetta, and a couple of other things. All were delicious. The beer list also is short but good.
My husband LOVES the milk shake and BLT. When that sandwich wasn't on the menu last time he asked the waiter if he might still get one. Waiter checked. Answer: Yes, of course! Another success and happy time at Silver!
A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Dependable, reasonable--with a bit of "cool" to it!
Good food and pleasant ambiance, however the service is terrible. The waiter we had was friendly but service was extremely slow, and he made mistakes which he never bothered to apologize for.
We've been to Silver twice in the past two weeks and will be returning regularly. The food, ambiance and service are all excellent. On both of our visits we have been served by Saliyama who is great ambassador for Silver. She is very friendly, efficient, and helpful in explaining the menu items .
Excellent First Trip to Silver - Cathedral Commons. The food was outstanding and very flavorful. Our server knew the menu really well and made outstanding recommendations. Great food at decent prices.
Food was good, service was great!
Great meal (esp the french toast & chicken and waffles), service, and value!
