Went for crabs, and they did not disappoint us. Our first two choices in dessert menu were not available that was disappointing.
We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view.
Our waitress was excellent. I wish I could remember her name.
Great food and customer service! I’d definitely visit again.
First, when we arrived I observed a lot of dirty tables. The table they were going to seat us at was dirty and the server didn't seem to notice before I asked her to wipe it. We were seated outside, but the sun became unbearably hot, so we asked to be moved and they were very gracious and said yes. Once again, they moved us to a dirty table. Once again, I had to ask the server to wipe it off the table. Disappointed in the food. the appetizer we ordered, fried green tomatoes were good but would have been better if they were hot. The one I bit into was actually frozen in the center. I ordered the fried chicken, mash potatoes and veggies.. this dish was $17 and was given probably two tablespoons of mashed potatoes. The fried chicken was very bland, needed salt or some seasoning. The 4 of us spent $146 at the restaurant. Not worth the money. We won't return.
Our Father's Day lunch was excellent. Proper social distancing and cleanliness. Crab covered roasted oysters and pickle chips were fabulous. The seafood boil was huge and delicious as was the soft shell crab. The shrimp po boy was a little short on shrimp, there were only 4 small shrimp with too much bread. If there had been more shrimp it would have also been delicious. Our service, Alex was a delight. She was helpful, knew the menu and paid good attention to our needs.
Wonderful setting and they did a fine job of social distancing for these challenging times.
Our server Michael was the bomb!
I ordered the catfish, compared to where I’m from (Tennessee) it was not prepared the same. We soak it in buttermilk to remove the muddy water taste. Besides that, which may be the way it’s eaten up here, we had an amazing date night. Beautiful scenery. Our waiter was wonderful!
Loved the view and the food was outstanding!!
Excellent as always. Will be back as soon as we can visit restaurants again!
Overall fine, great menu to choose from, but the chef(s) were very heavy-handed with the salt and spices in general. The nachos were very salty - I think it was the chicken specifically, the crab cakes had too much Old Bay, so also salty. The smashed potatoes were also salty and too garlicky.
Went with friends for their Friday night Prime Rib and Seafood Buffett. The prime rib and fried oysters were very good.......It is a very casual waterfront restaurant......for the price is was very good $25.00 ..... I would not recommend for date night or special occasion. For Friday night out with friends it was fine.......once we ordered the buffet we had to track down wait staff to get drinks and refills. Friendly overall......
Food & service were perfect! The thing we hated was, we were the first table to the left in the middle when you walk in and everyone kept bumping my husband the whole time. Was very annoying especially for it being Valentine’s Day. Will return but never in that spot.
Food and service is always very good at Skippers Pier. Great local spot.
The service was great and the food was delicious!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. We spoke with the chef and he was super cool and very talented! I have been posting photos and promoting you all over Facebook.
I can't wait to come back for your Thursday night specials, they look amazing too!
IT WAS MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY AND THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY!
We enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience except the restaurant was so loud we could hardly converse. Will try again but won’t be returning if it’s always that loud.
Rockfish was AMAZING!!
Some dishes were very good and some not so great. Shrimp and Grits and the Tuna Bowl were yummy, but the crab cakes and snow crab were not so great. Dessert was also delicious. Overall a good time and likely your best choice in the area.
The food was excellent especially on a hot day! A must go to eatery with great views!
Overcooked filet mignon ruined the experience for me. Views were beautiful but for an expensive dish you expect it to be cooked right. Seafood was decent and hush puppies and crab dip were good but the deal with the filet set the tone for me and made me feel like I wasted my money.
Overall very nice...need more sun shade outside..bigger umbrellas ?
Nothing to tell
Our server, Maddie, couldn’t have been any nicer. She was very quick and attentive. Also the owner came over and thanked us for choosing his restaurant. Beautiful view, excellent food, and amazing staff! We will be back.
The only down fall was the size of the entre. One of our guests had to order another to accompany the fish tacos he got and my husband ordered a trio platter and ended up eating half of mine too. This was with appetizers and drinks beforehand. Other than that the food all tasted great and the atmosphere was perfect for a night out
We first started frequenting Skippers five years ago. The service was great, the food quality was consistent and good. Over the past 2-3 years, the quality of the food has declined, until their new menu came out. It is better, but they offer extremely limited options for those with food allergies. And, the consistency of the food is hit or miss. Service has been horrible for the last three years, with the exception of one bartender who typically works outside. She is great! When sitting outside and only two tables of two (us being one) in the dock bar, with two people working out there, the servers/bartenders NEVER looked at us. We had to go up to the bar, order drinks, go back to order food, go back to order more drinks. The latest was this past Saturday. Our table of ten sitting on the deck with a table covered in pollen - totally understandable. It's spring. When I asked our server to if we could get the table wiped off, she wiped the section in front of me only! LOL Everyone else just started laughing. We waited 15 minutes (we timed it) for our drink order to be taken. Waited for another 15 to get some of the drinks. At one point we just went to the bar to get drinks. Even getting water refills was an issue - someone asked the server to just bring us a couple of pitchers of water - that never happened.
When the server took appetizer orders, she just started to leave when coincidentally several of us yelled: "Don't leave, take our entree order!" We'd been there about an hour at this point. One person's lunch finally came out, then much later the rest of the table's came out. Fortunately, everyone enjoyed their meal.
The view is phenomenal here. The food is usually good. But the service is increasingly bad and it the restaurant, deck and dock bar could use a good cleaning. Us and a multitude of our local friends rarely go anymore because of these issues.
What a disappointment! Took friends here from out of town and ended up battling flies at our table throughput the whole meal. We were there for early dinner but they only had small crabs left which had zero meat in them, the waitress was nice but MIA much of the time because she was too busy so everyone’s meals came out at different times, and the sun was in our eyes the whole time because there are no shades on the window!
The whole place was dirty and in need of a good cleanup and reno. We have been longtime fans of Skippers but not anymore. Our last three visits have been awful.
Note to the owners: you just lost three good customers today. Take a hard look at the experience you’re offering people. It’s in bad shape. Fix it before it degrades any further.
Food was great! Service was poor! Waitress was overwhelmed with to many tables.
Always memorable; have been going back to Skipper's for over 25 years!
It took a decent amount of time for the food to come to the table. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, myself included but my crab legs were hardly even lukewarm when delivered.
Overall we had a good time, we'll try it again.
I travel a ton and dine out constantly. Grace is one of the best waitresses I’ve met. Great service and super friendly. Really appreciated her understanding of a food allergy at the table and looked out for us the entire night. Food was awesome! Tuna bowl was top notch!
We lived in Maryland for 25 years before moving to Florida. We went to Skippers many times. This was a very special occasion to go to Skippers again with friends who still live in Maryland. The manager was attentive and made certain things worked perfectly. Another great memory.
I'm a local and eat here often and Skipper's Pier never disappoints! The menu was recently re-done and there are some very yummy new additions as well as many of the old favorites! Everyone in our group enjoyed the evening - the food and service were both top notch and after dinner we enjoyed listening to the live music at the dock bar. This is truly a neighborhood gem!
Decent but not excellent food. The noise level is horrible and you need to yell just to be heard. The manager should walk around and check on tables.
Great location! Great food! Really good service! We often go to the tiki bar to listen to live music on the weekends. The menu has a nice variety of food items to suit everyone's tastes and the waterview makes it just that much more enjoyable. Boat and motorcycle friendly, too!
Great Service the food was awesome; our waitress was very helpful and quick with everything she deserves a raise.
The food was delicious-we had a variety of items...crabs, shrimp, shrimp and grits, shrimp linguine, fish and chips-everything was delicious! The service was very good. BUT, the restaurant itself needs some improvements. It was 3:00 when we arrived and the afternoon sun was coming in the open garage door window so 2 tables asked to close the door which totally cut any airflow off. It was stifling hot and full of flies. The fans don't blow any air-I actually think they are on the winter setting. The women's restroom was out of service and was the last time we were there. The noise level was so loud I couldn't hear anything from people sitting 2 seats down. If the weather isn't too hot sit outside and you'll have a great time. Inside, not so much!
Perfect place on the water and amazing food! Great spot for kids, too.
Always nice to eat out on the water, food is good especially the appetizers and fish tacos, great local spot with a dock bar and plenty of outdoor seating
