Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.

We loved our meal at Soccarrat. The Sardines with almonds are a yummy starter. The Paella is DELICIOUS! And the Sangria Rioja was the perfect beverage - order the carafe! Note that you pay per serving for paella (ie per person). We will definitely be back! Thank you.
The best paella I know of in NYC, fresh and expertly prepared, complemented by a small but well-matched selection of affordable Spanish wines, friendly and efficient service, and a leisurely vibe.
The tapas were good. Waiter forgot to bring the 3rd tapa out. The paella was good, but it came out cold. They had to reheat it. They didn’t serve bread. The waiter wasn’t paying attention, and he could easily be considered rude. The place wasn’t even full, probably at 1/4 of operation. We went there for recommendation. Maybe it was just the Chelsea location. I wouldn’t personally go back.
Awesome time. Delicious food and quick service and food. Loved our time!!! Andres was a great server. Thank you!!! We’ll definitely be back
Delicious paella, tapas and sangria. Great service!
Delicious paella and good drinks, must go! Cute atmosphere
By far the best Tapas we have had! Ordered 8 different plates and each one was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back!
The service was impeccable here! The staff members are wonderful! The food and drinks were also delicious!
Eat paella in town
Everything we ordered was fantastic & the service was phenomenal
We sat outside and enjoyed an excellent dinner consisting of tapas and paella. We cannot wait to return.
Tapas and wine are very good here. Service is excellent. Paella seemed a bit "tired." would recommend for tapas.
We were in town to see a Broadway show. Back patio was so sweet, and private, pretty. Everything was fabulous. Will def come back again.
We had a great experience dining at Socarrat Paella Bar at Chelsea. Very welcoming ambience, recommend it to meet with friends or family.
White sangria was delicious. Tapas were great and the Paella did not disappoint us. Excellent customer service. We will definitely go back soon.
Food excellent! Ambiance excellent! Staff very helpful too. Definitely recommend dinner there.
Felt like I was back in Barcelona with the vibe and food. We will be back!
Delicious food and great service! great for the family gatherings!
Incredibly yummy food and drinks. We had perfec
The food and the service were exceptional .
Diego and Daniel were excellent waiters.
One hundred percent recommend!!!
Thought the restaurant menu would be available when I made the reservation and it was recently updated to exclude saturdays. They should have honored it but did not. The bill came out to be $164 for 2 ppl. It is what it is but a little annoyed.
I enjoyed the ambiance and the staff was very nice. I ordered a red Sangria and it was very good. However, although the Socarrat Paella that I ordered was tasty, I noticed that the shrimp was not fully de-veined. This put a damper on my experience since sea food should fully be cleansed prior to cooking.
worst paella I ever had. was so overcooked shrimp was literally mush and rice was burned and no its not supposed to be that way because of the iron skillet. how it got the reviews it has is unbelievable in light of my experience. it was so bad I didn't even bother to complain because it showed so little regard for the patrons already. I'm voting with my feet.
One of the best restaurant week menus around. Staff was very attentive constantly refilling water (ate outside by choice but it was over 90 degrees). The food was excellent. We were a party of 4 and tried to order different things so we could all share. Will definitely be coming back.
as always amazing food/drinks. service was very polite but a little slow yesterday (not sure if this is because it was busy or shortage of staff which seems to be the norm these days)
true to its name, very tasty socarrat, cleaned it off the sizzling plate!
Great food and service! They also have a very spacious and well ventilated back yard that I was not aware existed so it was a wonderful surprise. Had Sunday Brunch around 1pm - not crowded at all, service was amazing and great overall experience. Would go again.
food was mediocre. Very disappointed in food but wait staff was excellent.
Good place but not so good food
We have eaten here before and they never disappoint. Great food, great service. No complaints at all. Wonderful food and a great time
We went for restaurant week on a whim. The food was great. It was fun to pick out a paella and try their other dishes. We sat in the backyard and it was very noisy. The staff were very friendly and checked-in on us frequently. I was glad to have discovered this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
Great restaurant week menu
The food and service was great! We had the restaurant menu; Mussels, Seafood -squid Ink-Paella & flan were tasty. We were sitting in the backyard close to the serving center and it was little noisy. Overall we enjoyed and would like to come back.
better than Nolita location regards to food & ambience
Our first time there and we ordered tapas. Everything was very good. Some of our party were new to Spanish food and they were impressed. Overall very good.
This is my favorite tapas restaurant in New York. I definitely will recommend this restaurant to everyone
We did the restaurant week special on the back patio - great food, great location. Looking forward to coming back for brunch!
Delicious dinner and amazing service.
Started with the eggplant Napoleon which was flavorful and went well with house sangria. Seafood paella was outstanding and more than enough for two. Service was pleasant and attentive with out any feeling of being rushed. Will be back in the future.
Visited during restaurant week with two friends. Lots of options on the RW menu, and everything was delicious!
