What a great little restaurant. A very lovely intimate atmosphere with great food and a variety of specials. It has become our go to favorite restaurant. Most recently my favorite thing was the aubergine (eggplant) and lamb dish -- amazing.

This was our first time. I'll start by saying the food was excellent. So why am I giving a rating of less than 5 stars. To get 5 stars I require excellent food and service. They only get 2 stars for service, and here's why. Our server, who incidentally is the owner, never once stopped to asked how things are. We had to get water refill from a busser. However, the worse part was the end of the meal. We were still finishing dessert and had wine left in our glasses. The owners wife came up and dropped the check off. She came back a minute later and told us she needed the table. I responded that their website said we have the table for 90 minutes, to which she replied that they changed platforms (whatever that means) and tables are for 1 hour and 15 minutes. We were right at the 1 hour and 15 minute mark. She told us that people have been waiting for the table and she needs it back. I proceeded to give her my Amex card which she rejected. Funny they took Amex to hold the reservation. I asked why they don't take Amex and she said their transaction fees are ridiculous. Give me a break. Visa fees range from 1.5-2.5 percent and Amex are 2.5-3.5 percent, so 1 percent higher. On our $90 bill that means a charge of 90 cents to them. It has been years since I've had a restaurant, particularly a higher end establishment, reject Amex. Tens of thousands of places have figured this out. Not sure if/when we will go back. The next night we went to another Italian in the same center and had a totally different - and better - experience.

Love this restaurant! Everything is wonderful - food, service, ambiance are top notch! The brisket with rigatoni is unbelievably tasty and cooked to perfection. M husband loves the mussels - plump and flavorful! We can’t wait to go back!

Overall - Really poor experience. Appetizer - We ordered the butternut squash. Two bites - way too salty, inedible and returned. Main course - I ordered the lasagna. Just gross! It was cold and I sent it back. They brought out a new portion 15 minutes later after my wife finished her meal. Oily, soggy, with cheese everywhere. Really poor plating. There was nothing appetizing about how it looked and the taste confirmed that they have no idea what they are doing. Since the plate was burning hot, I can only assume that it was sitting under the food warmer rather than on my table. My wife had the chicken piccata which she enjoyed. Seating - We sat at the first table into the big dining room. Every time the waitresses passed by there was a breeze created by their wake. Check - After sending back appetizers and a main course, they took one appetizer and the lasagna of the bill. No apologies for the poor service, food, and overall experience. We paid the bill, tipped 20% and will never returned. The problems are not supply chain or labor shortages. The food just wasn’t good.

I apologize that you didn’t have a good experience. I’ve addressed the salt issue. I, also, must apologize for your first plate not being temperature correct. The timing of your second plate was because of the kitchen being very busy. None of our dishes are preconstructed so they did the best they could. All plates are warmed in an oven , hence, they are hot. We’ve been featured on TV for our Lasagna, I apologize that you didn’t like it, it’s a signature dish of ours. Please try us again.

Our new favorite go to restaurant for fabulous food! Ernesto and Mary make the dining experience fun with their lively personalities! We had the Sweet Pete salad, Pork Osso Buco, Truffle Gnocci and the Aubergine! All prepared perfectly! We cannot wait to go back!

We have eaten here eight or 10 times in the past year and the food, ambience, and service has always been excellent and consistent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal and nice surroundings with friendly service and moderate prices in the central mainline area.

Had another wonderful dinner, thanks to our gracious hosts, Mary and Ernesto. Love their Aubergine with lamb. Also, Pork Osso Bucco and Grilled Calamari. Also loved that they had no music playing, so it kept the noise level down to allow for easy conversation.

Four diners had 3 appetizers, - Truffle gnocchi lemon chicken soup. a salad 4 entrees Branzino. Chicken piccata Osso bucco. Pork chop 3 desserts Tres leches. Tiramisu. Blueberry crumble = 100% Happiness and deliciousness Service was slow- looked they they were down servers . Mary and Ernesto are great hosts. 2 of us have been here a few times sitting outside , but indoors was a relaxed environment. We recommend it to everyone

It was a busy college weekend, so I understand the slow service. But with two very large parties seated next to us, we were rather ignored most of the evening. The food was good. Everyone seemed pleased with that. The ambiance was just OK.

Sontuosa is a not-so-hidden gem. Ernesto and Mary put their everything into making sure diners have the most wonderful experience. The food is outstanding, as are the portions. The outdoor seating is spacious and the experience is a true dining-under-the-stars one. We eat at Sontuosa often and we love it!

A gem in a neighborhood filled with eateries. Great people run the place and the food is their reflection. Always wonderful. El Fesco makes top three within miles.

I can't speak to your reference to the owner being rude, I apologize , we were terribly stressed because a server quit at 5:00 which caused issues. We were in the back and they basically forgot about us. When we left the owner wasn’t there so they could not even take a credit card. He forgot we were there. I had to ask for the check only to find I had to pay cash. B+ Food. D service. Not the way to treat a first time diner.

My favorite restaurant in Bryn Mawr, PA. The food is particularly sumptuous and the atmosphere is relaxed, quiet and friendly. I took friends there for the first time on Thursday and they loved it, too. We all started off with their extraordinary cold gazpacho soup then I followed it with the eggplant and lamb dish that was flavored just right to be similar to Greek moussaka. On nice evening, they set tables out on the sidewalk, which is lovely. The area near the post office which is busy during the day, quiets down at night. Sometimes there is a classical guitarist softly playing in the background. The food choices are a lovely selection of different European cuisines unified only by how delicious they are. It’s a little pricey but we’ll worth every penny. Open for lunch, too. BYOB and they now take credit cards.
