    Exceptional experience. My mother was extremely happy and named the place here favorite mom's day brunch location. We're definitely returning. Staff, food, and ambience was exceptional.

    We love going to the Balboa Bay Club and we always have our company Holiday lunches there as well. We enjoyed the Easter Brunch this year as it was smaller and in the dining area along the water and docks. Last time it was in the grand ballrooms and very loud and congested without any views. Beautiful decorations, outstanding service. We enjoyed the brunch and were not rushed. The food was nice but we would have loved more breakfast brunch items like scrambled eggs, regular french toast and waffles. The only eggs were the omelettes to order. The staff were outstanding as always. Overall it was a beautiful brunch and we look forward to attending again next year.

    We made reservations to attend a Christmas day buffet at the Balboa Bay Club for 2:PM. The cost was $191.24 per person including tax and tip. The buffet was located in the grand ball room with no view what so ever. The decorations in the center of the room were nice. The band was very loud and over bearing. The best music was when the band went on break and a recording was played at a normal auditory level. There was no traditional holiday meats like turkey or lamb. The main meat was prime rib, in name only, as prime rib refers to the cut of meat, not the quality. The prime rib (?) was tough to cut and tougher to chew. There was no marbling of the meat and virtually no tasty crown. I brought this to the attention of the server and finally a manager. Both agreed with me that the meat was probably the select grade or standard graded meat, the lowest grade on the USDA quality scale. I requested an adjustment to our bill. He said that since I booked the reservation through a third party, Open Table, there was nothing he could do. The manager said there are other food options available, there was cold salmon, to be served warm, ham slices, same issue and made to order eggs. Eggs were not on or list of selections at 2:30 PM. We did eat the shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes and muscles, mostly side dishes. He said a manager would contact me today to discuss the quality issue and price adjustment No one called. We paid a total of $382.48 for mashed potatoes, ham slices and a shrimp cocktail. The prime rib, in name only, was not edible. Conclusion, we will no be back to the Balboa Bay Club. The name of the establishment, Balboa Bay CLUB, is not reflected in the service or food quality. I am still waiting for the phone all!!

    The food was fantastic. The music was spot on and really wonderful and the setting was perfect. Really outstanding job. The waiters were very nice and accommodating Thank you for putting on a memorable event.

    We came back to Balboa Bay resort after a wonderful Thanksgiving day experience. They did not disappoint. The food selections were wonderful, but the most enjoyable part of the experience was the staff who were exceptional and pleasant. I must add that the presentation was wonderful. Thank you for a beautiful Christmas day.
