Key Lime Pie
Slow-roasted and deeply seasoned. Accompanied by áu jus and horseradish sauce. Served with mashed potatoes
Portions are large enough to make 2 meals, and the food was great!
It's always a pleasant experience when we dine at Stanford Grill. We chose a patio table, and it was lovely. The tables are spaced far apart and the tent kept us secure from the weather even on a rainy evening.
The service is great, but the food is still the star. The menu isn't that extensive, but there were plenty of good choices and specials. At our table, we had steak salad, prime rib, a big burger, and their signature rotisserie chicken. All our entrees were delicious... we ate every bite, which didn't leave room to try their desserts.
The only drawback (as ever) was the noise level. Not everyone minds that as much as I do, I expect. Indoors, it's always noisy. The music is pleasant, but a little loud, which raises the conversational volume of course. Outdoors, the conversation was less loud, but the highway (which you can't see) added volume.
Service was very good! We had the sliding windows closed to the party room in order to cut down on the noise.
Disappointed in the food this time around. I don't go to many dinner places multiple times, and this is one I've been to a handful of times.
Took a friend for the first time
Drinks good, appetizer very good (had the egg rolls).
But our entrees were not up to par.
Food not warm enough, steak was way overdone, friend's food also cold. Sent that back. 2nd time his potatoes were still not warm but mine were, and my steak was still more done than desired, but I could eat this one.
Waitress was very kind and manager was understanding. But this can't be the same chef from 2019 and earlier when I had come before with excellent everything!
Decided to have luck for my daughters graduation. I’ve been here in the past and the food was great! However, yesterday the food was horrible it made me sick to my stomach. I ordered fore roasted chicken and the skin was so soggy I’m assuming they didn’t roast over the fire as described otherwise it would have been crispy. The mashed potatoes were nasty asf! Don’t waste your money to eat here
Salads and Key Lime Pie were delicious and opulent..enough to take home to my husband! Staff were helpful and polite.
Seating outside on patio is shady and pretty but because of cicadas as well as traffic, which you can’t see, pretty loud. The cicada noise will be gone soon.
Great food and great service. There was also plenty of space provided between tables.
Frequently visit this restaurant, however 1/2 of the menu was unavailable. Had I known this after ordering drinks, I would have went elsewhere. The items that were available were good, but it was incredibly frustrating to not have ANY of the entrees that we wanted available; no discount, nothing offered for the inconvenience, just an apology... and we can't eat those.
Running out of wine and food on a Sunday at 7 pm isn't a very good thing to do. It wasn't one item, but several.
Our dining experience yesterday was excellent. The food, service, accomodations were outstanding. KC was our server and he was excellent. Our guests were highly impressed by the whole experience.
We will definitely return for future dining experiences.

Yummy food. Menu has a nice selection but not overwhelming. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
I will never reserve a seat in the bar section. I was ignored for most of my visit.
The atmosphere was good as well as the food. We were hoping to have brunch but were told they discontinued serving brunch.
Great outdoor dining experience. Service was excellent and food was delicious.
besides the little hiccup i had with my food, everything was great.. i can’t remember our servers name but he was also great, very accommodating. overall it was nice and we had a good time.. i will definitely be returning
If you like lots of pepper in your food — and in a beautiful restaurant — this is the place to go.
Had high expectations for being a first timer. Saw sushi on their social media but sadly it was at their other location. Egg rolls were delicious, server was friendly. They sat us in the sun inside and my medium steak was well done with nothing taken off the bill. Not sure we would ever come back
Nice service, pleasant surrounding, good food, who could ask for anything more?
Food was very good and good value - drinks while a tad pricey are very good (top shelf liquor) ....service is always outstanding. We dine here at least 1x every week and their specials are always worth trying
Everything was delicious and the service was amazing! Will definitely be back soon.
Often the ribs are dry as if they have been left from the day before. One of the best things is now off the menu - crab cakes.
As always, a wonderful meal with fantastic service.
Service was very poor. Food was disappointing.
The food is always fresh and of a high quality, service is very good and everything is delicious.
Disappointed we were not allowed to order crab cakes from the menu. No manager made it to our table to apologize for the misrepresentation of the menu.
Overall very average experience for a special occasion birthday dinner with family...Stanford Grill use to be way above average in the service/food dept. Last night not so much. Our waiter didn't refill water glasses....no offering of of a 2nd round of drinks. It was my husbands birthday and no offer of a special desert. My ribs were dry...my daughters Rattlesnake pasta was even off. Last few times I have visited for dinner have been very average...lunch is always exceptional. I think they need to look at evening wait staff...they are not up to par I'm very sorry to say. :-(
This was a business dinner and my second dining experience at Stanford. It was good just to eat out again and Stanford didn't disappoint. The Grilled Rainbow Trout was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming and intimate.
Stanford gets four stars because my colleague, visiting for the first time, previewed the menu online and was looking forward to the Eastern Shore Style Crabcakes. They are no longer available. The cost per pound has skyrocketed and Standard chose not to pass the cost on to the customers. Certainly understandable; but my colleague's disappointment could easily have been mitigated with prior notice from our waiter as he handed us menus along with his recommendations for the evening. Might be a good idea to remove the crabcake dinner from the menu altogether until the situation improves.
Service was a bit slow. We actually had to stop the waiter as he kept rushing by to wait on other patrons. He also waited to mention the evening's specials until we were ready to order - that's when my colleague got the bad news. She opted, instead for the Club salad which she said was wonderful. The Cornbread was not the best I've ever tasted, but the Calamari was delicious. We both needed take home boxes and left with Stanford's outstanding Key Lime Pie and Bread Pudding.
We'll see how they do next visit. Be back soon.
First time back to Stanford Grill Columbia since February 2020. Sat on the patio. Enjoyed the trees and flowers . A little noisy at times from Rt. 175, but not too bad. Food was great, as always. Server didn't place order for appetizer, but that turned out to be a good thing. Ended up taking part of our dinner home because it was a lot of food. Wine was excellent. We totally enjoyed ourselves!
Receptionist greeting issues. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated with reserved reservation where I was on time and even early. No explanation originally given which would have level set issues. Once seated, experience improved.
Stanford Grill is always excellent. Great food, good service, pleasant surroundings, who could ask for anything more?
We went there at the suggestion of a friend. It was an excellent recommendation. The food and service were both great! I would highly recommend The Stanford Grill to everyone.
It was our 1sy time at Stanford grill and we had a good experiment. The waiter was professional and explained dishes well.... I really liked my grilled trout, the portions are pretty big. We all didn't finish our food and took left overs home.
The whole afternoon was great.. Sara was out bartender and she was so enthusiastic about the menu and our experience. She offered some great suggestions for our meal and drinks based on what we usually like. Stanford Grill is a above and beyond dinning experience.
Food was great, but the price for the crab cakes is insane. They’re very tasty, but they are tiny! Server was a bit rusty and disappeared a few times, and it took 15 minutes for my husband to get a beer.
All in all, it was nice, but if they want to charge fancy prices, I should feel like I’m being pampered.
This dinner was for a graduation party and we has requested to be seated near another family... our request was honored which was wonderful. Service was excellent and the food was wonderful.
Our server, KC, was great at first. As the evening went on, he was less attentive. We were an party of 6. My husband and I ordered a second drink and they were both wrong. Not sure who's fault that was, but we had to send them back. When we finished our meal, we were waiting to hear about the desserts, but KC didn't even ask if we wanted dessert and coffee, he just put the bill on the table. We were very surprised and really disappointed. We did order something and it was fine. The food was delicious, as always, but we were less than pleased with our service.
Stanford Grill is our favorite go to for celebrations! Again, it did not disappoint. The meatloaf was generous and very tasty and the special, chicken parmigiana, was moist and cooked just right. To end the meal, we had Stanford Grill’s outstanding bread pudding plus an order of their equally outstanding key lime pie. My only complaint is that the portions are all so huge that we have to take some home for another meal. But that’s actually good, no?
Outstanding food every time--no matter what you order. I skipped the amazing desserts this time, but the coffee service was a lovely treat with coffee presses brought to the table and beautifully presented.
From the Caesar salad starter to the sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes sides garlic was overwhelming. To reiterate, absolutely overwhelming... Both my wife's and my mouth were burning from the amount of garlic in the Caesar salad. We've had lots of Caesar salads in restaurants far and wide and never experienced anything remotely similar. The excessive use of garlic in the sides continued and we both thought 'what were they thinking.' Why an accomplished kitchen would feel the need to use that amount of garlic is incomprehensible.
This is not our first meal at the Stanford Grill and prior meals were quite good. Let's hope this is a one-off miscalculation.
Our server was accomplished and professional, among the best we've had anywhere.
