Never disappointed. Summer House atmosphere, food, service, value for money are always worth a visit.
Everything was good. Food, service, table outside
Great atmosphere; average food for above average prices
I couldn't have been more pleased with the service staff. They were friendly, efficient, and patient. While I thought some food items were over-priced (16.00 for a Caesar "salad," a lightly dressed head of romaine draped over a plate) overall the experience was great.
The ambiance is good, the service person was very nice but the kitchen took way to long to deliver our meal. I had the halibut that was excellent but they delivered a medium rare ordered filet to my wife that was basically raw. The server and manager apologized but then again the filet took forever to get to our table and the evening and experienced was shot. Problems happen but that new steak should have been rushed and executed way faster with more attention being paid to resolve the experience...C'mon Summer House! They comped some dessert which helped but I just wish everything was just executed as it should have been.
More limited brunch menu than I would have expected but good food nonetheless.
Valiant and eminently professional staff made the gorgeous evening and delicious food & beverages even more delightful!
The service was awful. Placed our order with a terrific waiter. I manager comes over to check on us, for no good reason, gets involved and totally screws up everything else about the order. even deiced for me I wanted the dressing on the side, which I did not.
Amazing food and service! Very dog friendly!
A great experience and a special shout-out to Born for being really helpful
The service was definitely not worth the price. We got only half of our drinks with appetizers. My kids received their sodas after they completed dinner. Our second drink arrived after we finished our entrees (we ordered before dinner arrived). The extra appetizer we ordered never arrived and when we “cancelled” it the waitress was not even sorry. She clearly never ordered it. Three desserts were sold out and it was only 8pm. And the birthday candle we asked for a three times (and indicated in our reservation) came out after we ate all of our dessert. We came for a 70th birthday celebration and I am embarrassed that we chose there as it was no special at all for my mother.
Overall reasonably priced for the area. Good sangria. Our waitress was a little aloof and seemed not too happy to be at work but that’s okay, my friend and I still had a great time. Drank lots of sangria and sat under a canopy of trees.
We were told there was an hour wait so we put our name on the list and did a little shopping. I decided to check open table and there was a reservation available for 15 minutes after we out our name on the waitlist. I took that reservation. I had a similar experience where no server came to our table after waiting 15 minutes. I know places are struggling to find help. However despite flagging down someone twice, tables that came after us were served. So, it was poor management that was the issue. My daughter and I have been here before and thought the food was mediocre and overpriced but wanted to give it a second try. We should have trusted our initial thought.
Amazing summer eatery. Ambiance is great and sooo beautiful. Food-wise, the short rib hash was extremely dry. I’m not even sure it was fresh. I don’t recommend this dish. Went on Sunday 9/12/21 and maybe it was leftover from night before. Just not pleasant all around and not well seasoned. Recommend for atmosphere.
Extremely slow kitchen (an hour for a sandwich), inattentive service, mediocre food.
The food was spectacular and our server was so nice. I loved how gorgeous this place was and I can’t wait to be back!
Our waiter was very nice and attentive.
Server was helpful and knowledgeable. Outdoor dining was excellent.
Steak and fries arrive cold. It was quite surprising. We ordered two vegetables as appetizers and they were good.
Great location with people buzz! Always enjoy this place. Lots of energy along with great food and drink.
Tartar was delicious. Salads are good. Pizza was cold. Ribeye was fatty and under seasoned. Service was pretty slow. Outdoor area is excellent on a beautiful night.
Poor service and the food was mediocre at best.
The menu looked great but tasted like bad diner food.
The restaurant is beautiful but the food was fair and SOOO overpriced for the quality.
They have a very large and pleasant outdoor area, and the inside has high ceilings and socially distanced tables. The menu is varied and food is good.
Airy, casual, and upbeat - yes it has that California feeling. Varied, interesting menu and not crazily priced.
Our server Treyvon was wonderful and the food was excellent as always.
It’s fine. Happy hour values are good. Everything else is just fine, nothing special.
Brunch with Mom and Sister
Good food, very slow service
Epic bad experience. We waited 20 minutes for the server to show up at our table; he only came after we flagged down a manager and asked if we could order. It took another 10 minutes for a coffee refill, and then the coffee was cold. We ordered meatball appetizer. The meatballs were ice cold in the center. At this point, we summoned another manager to ask for better service. He pledged to do better. Then our main dishes sat on a counter for 15 minutes (we could see the food congealing but could not locate our server). We spoke to the first manager again, who said everything would be remade hot. When the food finally came to the table . . . you guess it! Cold! We had to send two dishes back that were inedibly cold. One of those 2 dishes finally arrived hot; the other was delivered room temperature, but we had to give up and eat at that point. We waited 40 minutes for our food, so an hour total from the time we were seated even though the restaurant was not crowded. We couldn't tell if the server was incompetent or the kitchen didn't know how to cook hot food. The restaurant took the meatballs and the coffee off the bill. I think the whole meal should have been comped! For sure I will never go to this place again. What a disaster!
Beautiful decor, great seating for indoor/outdoor dining. Food is overpriced and bland.
Disappointed with continued menu changes.
Food was bland.
No longer offering omelets - just eggs.
Not looking forward to going back and this used to be our favorite brunch place.
Judging by the empty seats, others feel as we did.
The meal left us flat.
One of my favorite restaurants in the DMV. The sausage and burrata pizza was great. Crispy crust and just the right amount of toppings. The pasta with vodka sauce was excellent and the recommended Italian sausage paired nicely with the sauce. Can’t wait for our next visit.
Waiter was outstanding. Food was fine, just had a Cobb salad which was very mediocre
Paul the waiter was outstanding
Friendly, efficient service food was great!
Great waitress!!! Food is always on point. EXTREMELY disappointed to hear the baja fish tacos and chicken and waffles will no longer be offered. #myfavorites
The waiter was amazingly accommodating and made sure our food was prepared exactly like we wanted. His service was outstanding. He was kind and attentive.
Poor service for lunch for two outside.
So I have a mixed review on summer house. I had brunch 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful. So came back for dinner with my mom and kids for my daughters 14th bday. Service was very slow and disjointed. Our waitress was nice but the pace of the food arriving was horrendous. And then when it arrived it was hit or miss. Fries were cold pizza was cold but the chicken sandwich delicious after a too long a wait after our one appetizer. Sent back the pizza and they reheated it so now it was tough but by daughter was starving so ate it anyway. Then they forgot the birthday surprise and by that time we were ready to leaveHowever a testament of a classy place is how they fix it. I mentioned it to one mgr and they more than made up for it. The bill was cut more than I even expected and received a gift card. Then another mgr arrived and recognized again the unfortunate circumstances and offered another gift card. That’s how you keep customers satisfied and willing to come back and recommend. Well done summer house.
