Our diner-centric service and intimate settings make it an ideal choice for a romantic evening or special occasions.
We are open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, and only for dinner on Saturday.
We offer Omakase "Chef's choice" courses only, a la carte menus are not offered.
For same day reservations, please call us directly.
I am so disappointed to leave this review because my wife, me and our friends were excited to finally try this omakase restaurant after having missed out while visiting Honolulu. Unfortunately, this overhyped restaurant is not worth the price. You are much better served going to Sugarfish a dozen times or trying omakase elsewhere. We sushi often and found the dishes served here to be very boring and uninspired. We even opted for the "premiere sushi" dishes at $400 per person and were still left very disappointed. There are many great options for excellent sushi, sadly this is not one of them.
This is a very expensive dinner and unfortunately unless you are very wealthy is for very special occasions. However if you can splurge, like Sushi and are willing to try new things, it is an extraordinary experience. The service is absolutely amazing only exceeded by the quality of the food. Presentation and taste are really incredible.
Always love it here, and more and more each time.
Amazing quality! No where else is better. The uni selection will blow your mind
The best please go here.
900 for 2 people and the experience nor food was what you’d expect from a 2 Michelin starred restaurant.
Must try. I can’t wait to go back!!! Everything was impeccable
Excellent service. We have lunch there, most fish served was fresh. The uni served was fresh and tasted close to the one we had in Japan. However, the tuna appetizer and the ambajavk sushi had a taste of unfreshness that wasn’t covered by the extra marinade used. The sea eel was soggy. The rice used for the sushi was seasoned to provide a good balance taste with the fish. However, the sushi rice tends to come apart when you try to pick up the piece even with care. Maybe the stickyness of the rice or the technique needed to be modified .
We were impressed by the excellent service,
Quite simply, the best sushi experience I’ve had in NYC; and I stress the word “experience”. From the presentation to the flavor, you will forget that you are in midtown Manhattan and feel like you are in a high-end Tokyo establishment. If it’s a special occasion, or you simply LOVE sushi and want the best New York has to offer, this place is a must.
Hirohito-san is the best! This is our goto sushi restaurant every time back in the city 🙌
Incredible service. Incredible food and I lived in Tokyo.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience there. Everything about it was awesome. Will definitely go back.
Wonderful and perfect in everyway
The food was fantastic, chef and staff attentive, worthy of their Michelin stars
The sushi is amazing but the server took my dish away when I was not finished… without even asking me… lol
Awesome experience. Kazushige Suzuki is a true master, and all staff exceptional. Food as close to Japan as you can get in NYC. Must go, and often.
I’ve been coming here
Excellent food, excellent service. The bar is a bit bigger than what you'd usually see in a high-end omakase establishment, but it works in the space, and they have enough chefs working that it's not an issue. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Excellent but quick. The highest quality sushi with prices to match. Definately worth a trip,
but don't expect a long lasting romantic experience. For a foodie as this was great fish
combined with interesting serving. I would come back again for a pre theatre lunch as
the food was light and would not take away either experience.
We will return.
Wonderful place to go
2 Star sushi restaurant that is personalize just for you
Wonderful, fresh, distinctive and creative sushi! Can't wait to go back!
Regular sushi. Over-priced. Won’t come again. I’m disappointed.
Super place, nice and very kind service, food at the highest level!
Vil visit when I am in NY next time!
Sure, great purist sushi. But for the price I would have expected an intimate and special environment. Yes, having a waitress show you which fish you are eating on an iPad is neat, but also a bit fast-foody to have the device shoved at you. Overall, good food but a rushed and utilitarian feel. Just not worth it unless you want to check it off your list of Michelin restaurants - this one definitely doesn’t deserve its two stars.
Sushi Ginza Onodera is an other wordly experience not sure your casual spicy tuna roll loving friend. Each fish was something special and unique that we have not experienced elsewhere. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here and were blown away by the attentive service and food. Every 4 people (2 parties of 2) had their own waitress and sushi chef. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Staff always ask rude questions and annoying service. One day before the reservation, the staff called to confirm "do I know the price?", rather than food allergy. When my wife ordered hot green tea, the staff asked "The green tea is $5, is it ok?". The chef is nice, and the sushi quality is good. Yet, this restaurant is not my top choice due to the staff.
Delicious as always.
Awesome! Really polite servers
Very good sushi spot. But very overpriced. Been lucky enough to travel the US and the globe and have had some amazing world class sushi. This was NOT that. Like I said very good. But the food and experience did not come close to matching the price.
One of the best sushi omakase in New York City ! Excellent fish coupled with a wonderfully prepared rice. Probably the closest sushi-experience you will get without jumping on a plane to Japan.
We chose this exquisite and intimate dining experience to celebrate our anniversary. We were so grateful for the first class service that complimented the quality of every single bite of food. For us, the price point was a complete splurge and worth every penny.
It was definitely an experience for the senses. Everything and Everyone was extraordinarily superb.
Far cry from the tokyo original.
The food and service was amazing! I have not had an experience like that before. I now have a whole new perspective on the art of sushi.
The service is fantastic
Best Sushi outside of Japan. Koh is just a perfect Sushi Master and the quality of the fish is outstanding. It is so much better than Masa
It was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal! Service was also extremely wonderful. Will go back if the chance come up.
