New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
Enjoy a nine course meal with creative Spanish dishes to celebrate the end of the year for $125. We will toast with Cava and eat the 12 lucky grapes at midnight.
Great food, staff and entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Gazpacho was terrific; paella was starchy and not very tasty; strawberry dessert was very good; ablation glass was good; service was sometimes neglectful
Meals that we choose have incredible taste. Ambiance is nice. They’re very polite and helpful from welcome to the end. It was our 8th wedding anniversary and we love that place. Definitely will come back again.
A great place for a quiet celebration. It has become our family’s choice for special times.
Outdoor dining on Friday’s and Saturday’s comes with Flamenco dancers and guitars. Feels like you’re eating al fresco in southern Spain! Not to be missed.
Fabulous music and dance performance under the stars.
Date night for the wife and I
Amazing place, from food to service!!
Perfect place for a date.
Excellent food and service. Too noisy for conversation, particularly when they have live music and Flamenco dancer. Validated parking is in the garage across the street, not the garage right next to the restaurant.
Amazing service, authentic Spanish food for good value. They really know how to make celebrations special. We were celebrating our anniversary and they offered complimentary champagne and decorated our table with rose pedals. Overall amazing experience.
An excellent place for authentic Spanish cuisine.
They have a good wine selection.
A tradition for good dining in D.
Everything helped to make a very enjoyable evening.
Each year a good friend and I celebrate our birthdays in early September by having lunch at this charming restaurant. My friend grew up in Spain and she always remarks how authentic the food and ambience are at the restaurant. We usually order a seafood or mixed paella as well as starter dishes. We love the Manchego cheese, the ham croquettes and the Serano ham. Today’s meal again was superb and we highly recommend the Taberna. Recently they have also freshly painted the indoor dining area and it’s quite lovely. My only hope is that at some point they will eventually remodel the bathrooms which seem a bit dated to me but other than that, our experience was perfect! We also appreciate the friendly and attentive service.
Celebrated our Anniversary and we were treated like family with roses and champagne and a special dessert
It was the perfect evening
Amazing attention from the staff!
Great Tapas and Paella! Great place for a romantic encounter.
Great food and selection of wines.
Beautiful restaurant. Waitress very poorly trained.
Food, service and experience was 5 star!!
The service was poor perhaps due to our race. Appetizers were good. Main course was ok.
Twice that I've been here but limiting it only for special occasions. All that I've eaten has been very good and service is the best! Will definitely come back here for special occasions.
Great food and atmosphere
Unfortunately merely adequate. No unique cocktails, just the standard fair, which was surprising given you can do so much with a Spanish flair and twist. Did a series of six tapas, only the blood sausage was good. The others (garlic shrimp; grilled octopus; calamari; and others) were not well-seasoned and rather bland. The calamari in particular just tasted... fried. Not the best showing.
This is the place to go if you want outstanding tapas and best service at the same time. One of my fave places in the whole DMV.
Anniversary.. unfortunately nothing of what i asked for has been done +
because i asked to exchange the baked potato to other kind of potato the waiter has punished me by letting me pay twice
125 then 116 + tip after i found out that he didn’t remove it from the bill though he said he will!
So i need to wait for bank adjustment for 5 working days!!!! To get any refund
If i did not get it
I think i need to speak to the manager first before escalating the problem.
MARAVILLOSA Y DELICIOSA EXPERIENCIA
LA ATENCIÓN, EL AMBIENTE Y LA COMIDA, SENCILLAMENTE ESPECTACULAR
EL MAITRE EXCELENTE
Great staff and food 5 ⭐️ Will definitely recommend
Stopped the night before for coffee and dessert. Saw and smelled great dishes, came back the next day die dinner. Ordered two dishes to share. Just what we wanted.. the shrimp starter salad was wonderful.
I am from Spain and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The gentleman who served us was incredibly kind and the food was outstanding. Definitely recommending this place!!
Top notch service , fantastic food with quiet and nice atmosphere.
I have never written a review but this has to be said. Appetizers were good but the entrees were awful. We were given the wrong paella and could not wait another 25 minutes for the right one. It also had no taste. The very over priced filet mignon was complete fat. Bad and expensive food - a terrible combination.
This is our second visit to Taberna del Alabardero (we are from out of state) and we had a wonderful evening. We ordered from The Tapas menu and everything was delicious. The service was excellent and the drinks menu is excellent (they have a really nice Mocktail menu too).
Some waiters/servers working without masks when we arrived. We started outside, but an invasion of bees divebombing the food forced us inside.
This is usually one of the best restaurants in DC because the food and service are EXCELLENT, but the lack of masks was disconcerting.
I had been there the night before and eaten inside due to the extreme heat. Only 3 other couples in the dining room (many outside), and then a group of 3 arrived and where did they get a table? RIGHT next to us when there were 10 empty tables in the same area! That was why we tried to eat outside last night and had to be evacuated inside due to the bee invasion.
This is not the Taberna's usual style. Normally, everything is excellent.
Wow! great service and ambience, made for a perfect Sunday night family dinner.
I went for dinner with my husband and ordered paella. It was exellent. There was also a spanish music and dance show. The atmosphere and the food are amazing. We will come back!
Food was excellent. Service was great. Garlic shrimp is a must get.
Birthday dinner was nice.
The food selection, presentation was great, the best was the employers from the beginning to end
