It was the best!
Amazing restaurant. It is a piece of Spain in Washington. The quality of the food is very high same as the professionalism of all the staff. We really felt at home. It was a great experience for our Spanish that after five months in US is really missing our country delights.
Turkey for Thanksgiving menu was terrible. No stuffing with turkey.
Excellent food, excellent service! As always. A beautiful seeing, too.
Great experience! excellent food and service, definitely will be back 😉👍Thank you
This was our 3rd or 4th time here over the past 20 years (we live on the West Coast). The food and ambiance were excellent as always, but this time we noticed that the wait staff was a bit stuffy.
The service was great and the food consistently delicious, especially the tapas. A minor suggestion to make the dinner more enjoyable: the dishes served should be timed right so all guests can start eating at the same time. I ordered the salt-crusted Branzino which took a while to be plated and served while my friend’s dish was sitting there getting cold (it’s always polite never to start eating before others!). Nevertheless, we did enjoy our evening at the Taberna del Alabardero.
Incredible food and amazing service!
Thank you! See again soon.
La cena estuvo fabulosa.
The food is great.
The service is great.
Food and service was awesome. We loved it! Very recommended.
I look forward to my next to the next time.
I liked the experience but I think you should clarify when Happyhours prices apply.
We ordered at 18:29 and we were charged normal prices.
he food was excellent, good test and enough. First class service and atmosphere
Good tapas, although I have had better and not just in Spain. The Iberia ham is excellent, the croquetas were a bit greasy, the fried machego was creative, altough I prefer the plane one. I could not find chorizo, but a different sausage (one up from the bottom of the list on the menu. Patatas brava good but again not great. WInelist is impressive!
My fiancé and I went here to celebrate our engagement and they treated us so well, they gave us a sweet romantic booth and greeted us with a card congratulating us and glasses of cava to celebrate. The food and the service were amazing, and they had live music and dancers for entertainment. They even brought us dessert with “congratulations” written on the plate in chocolate! They really went above and beyond to give us a special evening to celebrate our big day. I highly recommend them for special occasions or any time!
Had a great girls night out eating here and then going to a comedy show at DAR! Service was great - very attentive and brought out our tapas gradually so we always had nice hot choices to eat throughout the night. Delicious menu of tapas! I recommend and would come back!
Very good food and nice ambiance. Attentive waitstaff without being intrusive. Inside and outside dining. My wife and I shared the Mixta Paella and added two sides which was really too much especially with the Gazpacho soup for an appetizer. Also offered are non-paella dishes from land and sea. I would definitely come back.
The Taberna is a Spanish charm. The dining options are extensive and very well prepared and presented. Service is friendly, snappy and efficient. The new interior paint job brings a new color, but preserves the Taberna's ambience of warm elegance. One can converse without raising its voice.
Everything was great, I will be back any time!
Absolutely fabulous experience. Food was exquisite, service was exceptional, new memories made and we will be back very soon. The restaurant went out of their way to make our anniversary dinner special. Highly recommend.
The food and service were phenomenal! We traveled from out of town and will be back!
Food was bland and waiters had to be called a few times since they were too busy with other tables. Not worth the hefty price of tapas.
We had out 20th anniversary there. The staff was amazing! Food and drinks were also amazing!
Lovely spot. An authentic version of a classic, high-end restaurant in Madrid.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and were treated like royalty!
Food was absolutely delicious. There are large portions on the paella and noodle dishes, made for 2 people, but could easily serve 4! Couldn't take leftovers, as the hotel we stayed at did not have a fridge in the room.
Never looked for servers, always had refills on water and top offs on the wine glasses. Value was 4 as it was a little on the expensive side! Every table was taken so a little more noisy. Very interesting decor! Would definitely return!
Celebrated my birthday with 2 other couples. Staff was very attentive and great recommendations with the specials.
Exquisite gourmet spanish cuisine! Plus spanish guitar and flamenco at 8pm. Classy! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Delicious food and attentive service. I look forward to returning soon.
My boyfriend and I had the best time here. On my reservation I noted we were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived, our table had rose petals and complimentary cava! Very thoughtful and sweet. The service and food were excellent, and they had live music as well. Highly recommend for celebrating any special occasion or if you're in the mood for Spanish food.
Excellent food and service overall. Several larger parties seated midway through our meal so it got a little loud, and service slowed slightly (not in an unbearable way).
I was a little disappointed in our evening out. While the tapas was good it wasn’t spectacular. The service was slow and inattentive. It was pretty noisy and hard to have a conversation.
Spectacular experience! Delicious food, exquisite service! Thank you for such a memorable evening!
A most enjoyable diner.
Celebrated my mother's birthday here and mentioned that in the notes when I made the reservation. The staff went above and beyond in making her feel special. We certainly enjoyed the food and our time here.
We went for the first time to celebrate our engagement toward wedding next year and we were WOW, tapas, food, all was absolutely amazing. This place is a hidden jewel in DC well not actually a jewel but is amazing. We will definitely go again and enjoy more entrée from the menu. To all the Taberna Crew we send a BIG Thank You.
Classical castellano cuisine: fine dining: seems to be a hot spot. Spend the evening and enjoy the hospitality
