The food is always delicious and the quality never varies; service is wonderful as well.
Tala is always consistent, has a great atmosphere and the food is unique. Great lunch spot!
First sit down at this restaurant. Had take out once decided to sit down now that things are open more. Wonderful sword fish dinner served by a attentive and pleasant young lady. We will definitely return.
Great food great service. I’ll defiantly be back
We are so glad you enjoyed your experience at Tala and cant wait to welcome you back soon.
The mussels were not at all good this time. They were gritty and tasted "fishy". Seemed quite evident that they were "old" (not fresh) or not good quality. Don't expect 5 star mussels from a Michelin restaurant but when they are noticeably not good and have a strong fishy taste to them it makes it very hard to enjoy them. When you get them as your main dish that kinda gives you an unfavorable overall dining experience, which is what happened for one person in our party who got the mussels.
*Gluten Free options*First time here, 4 people in our party. Hostess was very pleasant. Space is small but very nicely decorated. Waitress was also very pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. First round of cocktails were skimpy. Bourbon on the rocks was not even half the cup for $15 a pop. Menu was very small and limited. Portions were small for the prices. Filet was $44 for (7) oz and some Brussels sprouts, we also got chop salad, chicken piccata and a pizza which was a personal size. Food was delicious in taste but again we didn’t leave full by any means.
Nice little place. The food was very good ... they serve not the common dishes. But it also has its price.
We had a great experience from the moment we sat down. We had a late reservation so we were told the kitchen would be closing within the hour. Even so we were able to order appetizers, dinner and desert all without feeling rushed. The drinks were awesome and my complements to the bartender. The food was excellent as well as desert. Overall a wonderful night
Had 630 reservations. At 810 was told another reservation was waiting for our table . We had no idea . Would be better if you told people you were double seating tables than assuming they know .
Tala is one of my fav go tos... but I was disappointed to find out the calamari has changed up.
The food was enticing, the service very good, the noise was very unpleasant.
Fiood was delicious and wnderfull service
We had an enjoyable evening dining at the. bar. The bartender was fantastic and Alex was also helpful & personable . Excellent experience!
The bartender was great and the drinks she made were excellent! The onion rings were great as well. However, the pork loin had too much vinegar taste in it and the portions were small for the price. The Caesar salad with chicken was not dressed properly, the Parmesan cheese strips were stale as were the croutons. The chicken was dry and over grilled.
Easy, casual and relaxing atmosphere. Service was fantastic and the food was great. Don’t hesitate to give it a try
Sat at the bar , tender was was friendly and mixed a great drink . Food is always great ! Usually get salad - they are all hearty and delicious ! I Recommend this restaurant . In covid times , I felt safe and saw that the restaurant staff is very cautious.
The food was excellent, perhaps a bit pricey, but excellent. The ambiance was pleasant millennial. The service was understaffed and suffered therefrom. Because it was my wife's birthday, I had suppressed my discomfort and reluctantly gone to a restaurant to dine in at the peak of the second post-holiday covid wave. This was a mistake. While the staff (and we) were careful and wore masks except when eating, there was a large (by covid standards) party at a table with masks off volubly enjoying seeing each other. The waitress offered us a choice of two tables; we chose the one more remote from the large party. She was immediately overruled by the hostess, who without explanation, ordered the waitress to seat us at the table nearer the large group. That, combined with the lack of attentiveness occasioned by the waitress having to serve the large party, cast a pall over the evening.
Ambiance was nice. Decorated for Christmas. Soft lighting. The food was fabulous. Our server Mia was fantastic! Overall it was a great night!
Another great meal and excellent service.
The best place around
Much praise to wait staff! They are the best I have had.
Good food, good service, very nice place, we had a wonderful meal.
We waited 20 minutes after being seated to see a server. After our drink order was taken our server was not seen for an additional 15 minutes in which we got up and left.
First time there dining in a tent.
Tala has done a great job with dining during COVID. Tables spaced nicely and we always feel safe there. Food and drinks both excellent. The owner always comes to ensure we are ok and having a nice time...
Excellent dining option in Latham.
Awesome food, as always! It was a first for our friends and they loved everything, especially the lobster bisque. Love those pizzas and salads!
Anniversary dinner. We will be back! Loved it!
We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent. They even gave us a cute little “happy anniversary” sign at our table, and numerous staff members passed on their well wishes for our special day.
We had both the sushi and the steak, which were incredible. The filet is the absolute best I have tasted in the area. Not to mention, they had a great assortment of delicious cocktails. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This was my first time dining out at Tala. I met an old friend for dinner to catch up on things. It was raining out, but we were very comfortable outside in the heated tent. I’m trying to lose a few pounds I gained during quarantine so I’ve been eating low carb. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find something on the menu that fit in my diet but luckily I saw the Whole 30 salad. It was perfect! Fresh arugula, perfectly grilled chicken, sliced avocado & red onion, topped with a little oil and lemon juice. It was delicious and surprisingly filling. Decaf coffee and cream was my dessert and it was also very good. It’s a simple thing, but often difficult to find good coffee. My friend had the cauliflower pizza and she said it was delicious. She had more than half leftover to take home for lunch the next day. Our waitress was a friendly young woman who was very attentive, but not overbearing. Overall, it was a very nice evening.
I was a little disappointed when we made a reservation, requested a booth, and it seemed as if we’d have a table inside. It looked beautiful in there, and we were celebrating our anniversary as first time patrons at this restaurant. However, we were in a tent outside in very uncomfortable metal chairs and a slotted table that my bracelet kept getting caught in. We asked to move tables because it was too cold away from the heaters and they accommodated us, to the next table over, still very uncomfortable. We went inside after dinner to use the bathroom and it was beautiful in there so I’m not sure how you get a seat inside but we weren’t told ahead of time we would be outside in the cold. There were many open tables inside so it’s not like they weren’t seating people there. At least the food was good. I know it’s tough with COVID but it would’ve been nice if we knew we’d be outside because we definitely would have chosen another place to eat. It’s not often we have a babysitter so the one night out here wasn’t as excepted unfortunately.
Food was terrific as was the service provided by Cienna
The food is fantastic and the servers are very attentive. This restaurant provides a wonderful dining experience.
Always delicious! Swordfish is superb. Delightful outdoor dining
I ordered a lot of food. Several appetizers. Entrees My steak lobster was a great idea. The steak was too big and the filling over did the rest of the taste. It is sushi. I want to taste the lobster too. Overdone on the steak. I sent it away not saying anything to the server. It was really bad. She asked. I did not want to be that ugly customer. Great ideas on the menu. I was very disappointed in the food. Especially with how good the the ratings were. My server was awesome. Will I go there again. No. Nor will my friend I was there with. And yes. I am a sommelier with a culinary degree
Chef Carlton served amazing food!!! Everything was wonderful.
We really enjoyed dining at Tala Bistro! Food was excellent, ingredients fresh, service was excellent! Chef Scott has added nice options to the menu....look forward to going back,
What an experience...3 times a charm!!!!! . My husband and I have dined there 3 times in the past 2 weeks. We have had a Relaxing and Fabulous Dinner each time. Each server has been very attentive and very professional. It’s a great time for all!!!
Everything was delicious !! We had a great family dinner. We love it there.
The service was prompt and our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had a bourbon mixed drink from the drink menu that was tasty and well balanced. My friend had a vodka and rose drink she found very refreshing. We had the shrimp crostini for an appetizer. It was so amazing and the portion was plenty for the two of us to share. I would probably order this along with a side for my meal next time. We both ordered the swordfish. It was very moist and the butter and herb glaze was really good. It came with potato and asparagus, both cooked perfectly. We were in a large tent and it was pretty windy outside, but the thick plastic did a great job of keeping the wind out. They had heat lamps that provided a lot of heat and would be very useful on those chilly nights. In world of social distancing, you did have wear a mask when coming into the restaurant/tent or while walking/ standing, but while sitting, you were not required to wear them. Tables were all at least 6 feet apart and the wait staff wore their masks the entire time. I also did see staff sanitizing tablets and chairs between patrons. I would definitely go back and I would recommend this place to others. It is a bit pricy, but worth it for a quality meal.
