Always enjoy the food, service and ambiance in this beautiful hotel. I've never had a bad experience here and I've been coming here for years.
Great lunch in a very grand old hotel. Thank you Hotel Bethlehem.
Food was great and staff were attentive. Added bonus music outside.
We always enjoy the Tap Room in Hotel Bethlehem. Cool and casual, with a terrific comfort food menu.
Outstanding service and great selection of food and drink.
Great service, food & ambiance!
Very nice experience last evening. New chef. We tried to the two fish specials and they were delicious. Very busy on a warm night and the staff was coping well with the rush. Every place is short staffed so extra patience goes a long way. The new chef has not changed the menu as of this writing but we’re looking forward to what is coming.
Our server Donna was informative and very professional. She explained the menu and specials. The food was very good and came out exactly as it should.
Wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion
Wonderful setting for lunch and brunch. Food and service were great! Highly recommend.
Very Pleasant and attentive staff. Very nice environment with old world charm and big windows. Food was excellent. A very nice experience
Our recent birthday dinner at the 1741 Room was lovely. The menu has something for everyone & it’s all delicious. Shoutout to our waitress Donna for her expert & cheery service. The 1741 is a spacious room with a high ceiling & dramatic huge windows. Looking forward to our next meal here.
Very good dining experience at Hotel Bethlehem. Food was excellent and they have a surprisingly good beer selection as well. Highly recommended.
Perfect Friday night spot! Great food, great music, great ambiance!
Our server, MJ, was very friendly (
I have been eating at the Hotel B for many years and I am very disappointed lately with the food quality. They need to step it up .
This was our first time experience to the 1741 terrace . It was a beautiful setting especially the tables near the windows. Our waitress, Donna, was outstanding. The food and drink were first class and my wife and I enjoyed the meal immensely. Keep up the high standards!
Terrace 1471 is one of the very few classic dining experiences left in the Lehigh Valley. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambience is lovely with soft jazz playing the the background.
Always enjoy coming to this beautiful hotel.. The food and ambiance is wonderful and we always have a great experience here.
My wife and I stayed at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem one night before a morning flight. We were amazingly surprised. The Tap Room offered attentive, and personable wait staff in a comfortable setting. We enjoyed afternoon drinks, a delicious dinner and breakfast. Every item was excellently prepared and presented. We chose a table in 1741 on the Terrace for dinner; a room with high ceilings and tall windows with Moravian tile on the floor. The room offered excellent views. Eating a light meal, we chose Prince Edward Island mussels, shrimp cocktail, and cheese plate for dinner. The shrimp were the most succulent and sweet large shrimp that we ever tasted. For breakfast we ate in the Tap Room and ordered eggs benedict, again enjoying a wonderful meal before departing.
The Tap Room was particularly interesting because of photographs of famous people who stayed at this truly historic hotel. Famous guests include politicians, industrialists, actors, musicians, and sports champions. It reminded me of Sardi's.
I highly recommend the Historic Bethlehem Hotel for its excellent service, food, and ambience.
The Hotel Bethlehem never disappoints!!!! Food was great, server was a sweet attentive and very knowledgeable. Always a great time at Hotel B
Dear Baseballkidbarry: Wow! Thank you so much for your very kind review! we are so happy that you always have a great time when you visit us! We look forward to warmly welcoming you back!
It was okay just the hotel itself was
Something to look upon and embrace the historic part of it but the breakfast was basic wish they had more to offer
Dear Anonymous: Thank you for choosing to dine with us - we truly value the voice of all of our guests. We appreciate your comments regarding the breakfast menu. We have not yet been able to bring our full menu back. We hope that you will dine with us again!
We love coming to the Tap Room/1741 to have a special meal! Donna is just the most wonderful waitress - very caring and friendly. She takes care of us every time we come.
Dear PeterZ: Thank you for sharing your most recent dining experience. We agree - Donna is truly special and we are grateful to have her on our team! We are so happy that you had such a wonderful experience! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Such an enjoyable lunch with my sister. I am visiting from Arizona and didn't realize my sister had never eaten at the Hotel Bethlehem before.
Dear TeriB: We are so happy that you an Arizonan got her local sister to enjoy lunch with us!! We are so happy that you all had some quality family time with us. We hope that you will come and visit us on your next trip to Bethlehem - and maybe ...just maybe your sister will suggest lunch with us. :)
Too noizy. There was a wedding reception going on and the people at the bar were too loud.
Dear EdwardC: Thank you for sharing your recent experience while dining with us. I am very sorry that you found the Tap Room was too loud. We did have a wedding it can get loud when they are entering the ballroom. Perhaps for a quieter dining experience, I can recommend our 1741 on the Terrace. This restaurant is on the other end of our lobby and has doors that close - unlike the Tap Room which is open. We do hope that you will visit us again and possibly try 1741 on the Terrace!
Best steak sandwich ever! Large amount of perfect fries. Very friendly atmosphere. We're locals, but felt like we were on vacation in another city, everything was so welcoming.
Dear Mike C: Wow! Thank you so much! That you felt like you were on a vacation and had the best cheeseteak ever...that makes our day! Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Excellent food/drinks, great live music and wonderful hospitality.
Dear Jaffe: Thank you so much for your kind words! We are so glad that you enjoyed your dining experience! We were very excited to bring back music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. It certainly makes dining very enjoyable! We look forward to your next visit!
While we understand that the menu is limited due to the rebound from covid, our food was good (except for the apple desert that we could not finish), the surprisingly young wait staff ranged on a continuum from poor and seemingly unhappy with being at work to excellent. With a dinner for 4 costing $250 plus tip, there are other excellent establishments with more positive results. We love the Sunday Brunch and would probably return for that, however.
We went for dessert. We love their ice cream. It is the ice cream from the Penn State creamery. We enjoy sitting at a table in the Hotel Bethlehem and eating with real silverware. The hotel does have a location across the street that has more flavors, toppings, etc, but we prefer to come here. The cost is about the same as the takeout store, but the dining experience is so much better.
Dear Jasper: Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience in the Tap Room. Penn State Creamery Ice Cream - it is the best! We appreciate that you enjoy the ambiance here in the hotel Tap Room for your dessert! We hope that we can welcome you back again soon!
Had a very nice birthday celebration! Server surprised us with a lovely ice cream and candle dessert. Perfect atmosphere for a quiet get together. Kitchen is still experiencing some transition issue. Food reflects this.
Dear Special K: Thank you so much for choosing to have your birthday celebration with us! We truly appreciate it! We have been experiencing bumps as we have been struggling to meet the demands of the business. We ill do our best not to disappoint you again!
Service was extremely slow but I know a lot of restaurants are struggling so not sure if it's the norm,
While we stay frequently at the hotel and love it. I've eaten 4 times at TAP ROOM only 1 was good.
Went here for our 8th wedding anniversary. Paid $41 a piece for Filet Mignon that wasn’t cooked as ordered. Rare came out medium/medium-well — Medium Rare came out medium well. They also did not get our order correct and gave us the incorrect sides. Also, the service was terrible. They were severely understaffed and no one checked on us the entire meal. It’s a shame we had a terrible experience on our anniversary. We did not even stick around for the complimentary anniversary dessert (that’s how displeased we were with our experience).
We ate in the 1741 room which is beautiful. Service was lovely. Food was good but too much sauce or gravey. If I had known I would of requested on the side. Overall a good experience and worth a try
This was the choice of our 2021 graduate. We all had a terrific meal
Chose Hotel Bethlehem for a celebratory brunch after my daughters graduation. We were seated in a largely empty unattractive ballroom rather than a stately restaurant we were expecting. The brunch was a buffet which was largely unimaginative and unattractive. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and brought our beverages promptly. To add insult to injury upon presentation of the check we were informed that a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to our check. Normally this doesn’t bother me as I generally tip 20%, however, this was a buffet. There was literally no service required.
All in all this was a disappointing experience.
Wonderful food, drinks and service in a beautiful historic setting. Very special.
Always a lovely experience at the Hotel Bethlehem. Staffing transitions resulted in lack of communication with Open Table reservation information. Overall terrific hoping the issues are resolved and improve.
Excellent as always. Our server Josh was great as well as our food and drink. Dine outside on a beautiful night and listen to nice live music. Can’t wait for the next time.
Staff was pleasant but food took over 70 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Wife ordered the Arugula salad with ranch dressing. She didn't realize that the salad came dressed already and the waitress didn't tell her so she ended up with a salad with no Ranch. This wouldn't have been her preference. Salad was mostly Arugula with very little apple and cranberries. Disappointing.
My house salad with chicken was ok.
Kids had burgers which they said were good.
Overall we were disappointed by the experience and probably won't return again. Certainly not worth the $.
Great breakfast food. Server was pleasant. Would definitely eat there again.
