Situated on Mercer Walk, temper Covent Garden it is a great lunch and pre-theatre location, with dedicated menus for both and a spacious outdoor terrace to enjoy them on.
Larger parties of up to 24 can make use of the upstairs Feast Table or, for something more exclusive, private hire is available downstairs for up to 55 guests.
Please note we currently do not accept Open Table dining cheques.
We were recommended Temper by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. The waitress was really friendly and helpful, food was delicious and the ambiance good. The only thing I didn’t understand was the need to state on the booking form whether it was for a celebration, as I said it was (it was for my daughters 21st birthday) and yet absolutely no reference was made to the fact. I didn’t expect anything in particular, just thought it might have been referred to at some point.
Food is OK but vastly overpriced for the quality and flavour. Service is poor as it seemed there were not enough staff and they seemed overwhelmed or poorly trained. Certainly not good enough for the price per head. The restaurant is also incredibly loud due to very loud music.

I admit, the restaurant is lively on a Saturday night. This is a great place. The chef really made our night- giving us little tasters, chatting to us, and making sure everything was good.

Perhaps something less spicy for kids would be beneficial. Our food was good though. Our waitress was particularly good - very friendly, helpful and great with our children. We would visit again.

The service was good - although they do not actually do the pre-theatre menu on Saturdays, we showed them that the open table app said they did. They straight away gave us the menu with good grace.
Other reviews have said the service was slow but we did not find that at all. Overall very pleased 😊

It's a shame the brunch menu isn't a little bit more brunch.
Having said that the location, atmosphere and service where all good. I would go back but stick to the a la carte menu.

The food was very nice and the service was generally good, however it was let down by our side orders not arriving with the mains. We had to ask for them 3 times, they eventually arrived after we had finished our meal.

Service was abysmal, with food taking an hour to arrive at our table. Waiters kept forgetting items/drinks and needed reminding.
Food is horrible and feels very unhealthy, despite this being a "BBQ restaurant".
First visit, good decor, good vibe, music playing but not overbearing. Service friendly and efficient, food good, 2 of us had fish which was excellent, enjoyable experience.

I love the vibe of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Excellent food and service I would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends. We were seated immediately on arrival and a waitress attended our table within minutes.
Went with my son for his 21st. Service was slow, however, the food was good, one of the best steaks I’ve had. The server also realised it was my son’s birthday and gave him a free glass of fizz. Lovely touch, thank you

We were in the basement. Oppressively loud, inappropriate rap made it almost impossible to speak to the staff. We saw several people arrive, sit for a moment then leave again to ask to be reseated. In retrospect we should have done that too. The room lacks the ambience of the upstairs area, is generally uncomfortable to sit in and is poorly furnished for service. Worse, the staffing ratio is far to low and our (excellent and delightful) hostess was run off her feet trying to serve everyone.
The food is .. quirky. Tasty, there's no doubt, but when they talk about "flatbread" what they mean is a 5cm thick mini pizza base slathered in sauce and topped with a morsel of meat. All this experimentation with the customer doesn't come cheap, either.
Overall, a disappointing date and we'll not be back.

Whilst maybe an additional team member in the basement could of aided service, i am under no doubt the team ensured everyone was looked after to the fullest extent. Staff could not have been more accommodating - I had messaged ahead via opentable.co.uk requesting a chair rather than a stool due to health problems and they came up trumps! Courteous and friendly. Food wonderful and prompt service as had theatre booking. Beef skewers and flatbread delicious. Would definitely go again.

We booked a table at a recommendation from a friend.
We were greeted by a lady who informed us that we had no table booked.
I showed her my booking confirmation and she said she would find us a table.
We say and were given a menu but not what we had seen on website so we left.
The lady on the door was very dismissive of us .
We left the restaurant and went to a lovely restaurant just round the corner which had great service and food

Food took more than an hour, drinks in between took too long too. Waiter said it was his second day - looked like the place was understaffed. Temper Soho much better experience

Nice starters but didn’t posted with the porter house steam, wasn’t impressive at all! Loud and they charge 12.5% service which I thought was ridiculous for the service received

Food was fine, except I ordered the beef roast potatoes and had boiled potatoes with cheese and onion, I don’t know how. Been to better restaurants in the temper chain, fell a bit disappointed ☹️

I had the hake which was perfectly cooked and delicious, although did seem odd it only came with three tiny tortillas for such a large fillet of fish.
Would definitely recommend!
Great restaurant with a great menu. The staff were brilliant and attentive, the food was amazing, a twist on a Sunday roast. Will definitely visit again and try the normal menus next time.

I really enjoyed the beef rib Sunday roast. I shared it with my wife and it was more the man enough for both of us. We then had their home made cookie with a scoop of ice cream on top which was amazeballs I will definitely be visibly temper again.

The food was amazing, the service absolutely atrocious. Likely would not return as this was the second time I had this experience. The first I thought was due to one awful server, but it appears to be the norm. Unfortunate, as it seemed they were very well staffed and the food was quite good.

Waited for more than 20’minutes after reservation to be seated, s waiters were hard to get a hold of, cocktails were mostly ice. For what you get, price is too steep, especially since they add an automatic service charge

We came across this after having to cancel another booking elsewhere. It was an amazing find and couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming after making the booking only 1 hour before arriving. Top marks and WILL be back.

I arrived at the restaurant at 21.30 with my girlfriend to find out that the restaurant manager did not allow us to have dinner there because of some issues they were having in the kitchen. I was told that someone should have called me to let me know but it did not happen, and I was also told by the restaurant manager that he was very sorry and would have contacted me through email to invite us to have dinner another time there for free. Until now I have not been contacted by anyone and my experience was very disappointing and unprofessional
