The wait for our dinner was over an hour. The food was good but not as good as I expected. My steak (at $35) was full of gristle and served with way too much sauce which was cold and gloppy making for a very unappealing presentation. My son had the seared tuna which was really spicy - almost too spicy to eat. We had to hunt down our waitress for plates for shared apps/salads and for more water. Overall I expected more.
Food was great. Table (outside balcony) was great. Waitress (Stephanie) was SOOO nice. Kitchen was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry, so didn't mind at all. Great night.
The appetizers arrived quickly along with our very delicious beforehand drinks. Our dinners were very delayed, about 20-30 minutes after appetizer dishes were cleared. The service was good except dirty dishes remained on the table. We enjoyed our first experience at the Barn and will return.
Menu is in transition, so a bit limited. Am certain the new menu will be great. As always, Lucas did a nice job behind the bar.
Terrific meal and service. We sat outside, and enjoyed the view!
Our son took us here before covid and everything was just excellent. We decided to take our daughter for her birthday and we were really looking forward to it. Fair warning - their website has not been updated so the menu there does not reflect the current menu. There were only four main course selections - 3 were fish dishes and the fourth was pork. No chicken. No beef. And nothing came with them. Just crab cakes or trout on the plate for $30.00. My husbands' trout had a couple green beans on the plate. There were no rolls or bread offered. The food itself was very good but I hated to see what has happened to this once great restaurant. I think the focus now is mainly on the drinks and appetizers.
My two sisters and I get together once a month. This month we met for brunch at the Barn, followed by the theater.
We were disappointed that we were not able to sit outside - it was a beautiful day. Also, some of the food items were not available. Perhaps what was most annoying were the black flies. We had to constantly shoo them away from our food. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our server, Margaret. She was very helpful - and the show was fantastic!
Perhaps have a screen door in place when the doors are open to the outside seating area.
Service was awful and usually is. Took them 30 minutes to even get us water as we sat outside in 90 degree heat with our toddler. Told us there weren't children menus and high chairs when there were because we there a couple weeks ago and they had both. I got the "Old County Breakfast" which was completely overpriced and bland. It is a beautiful place and the live music is always good which is the only reason why we even go there. I would recommend to grab a drink but that is it.
Twice in last month and service still sub-par. Something about having to remind the server to warm up the sticky bun. Stop throwing a room temperature bun in a bowl and calling it something special. Warm up the darn bun and give the option for pecans. I’m paying $100+ for two of us.
Thanks - great experience
Very limited menu. Be sure to check it online before going.
Great brunch in a beautiful setting!
Pork chop was almost raw. They took at back and cooked it some more (took about 15-20 minutes) and brought it back without warming the sides, so they were cold. Pork was very tough and slathered in garden variety BBQ sauce.
Most high-end restaurants (probably all) would have taken that off the bill.
The filet mignon was tough.
We felt bad for our server as clearly there were “challenges” in the kitchen. Everything was very slow to come but that’s a kitchen problem, not a server problem.
We love this location and hope management works hard to elevate the quality so it can succeed.
Music was annoying service wasn’t great but not terrible
Excellent service by a very friendly wait staff. We had the Trout Almandine and the Scallops & Shrimp stir fry. Both were fantastic. We were there on a Friday evening, for a wedding the next day, and there was a nice live music group playing.
Visiting the area for the Corvette show - did some research and found The Barn. So glad we did! On the grounds of the stunning Allenberry Resort - twinkle lights everywhere - a gorgeous American flag draped across the tree line along the entry driveway. Our server Gabe was awesome - excellent sense of humor! Best part, THE FOOD!!! The brussel sprouts appetizer is a MUST TRY!! (Trust me) And the Sticky Bun dessert is out of this world! Thank you for a great meal!
Refreshing great restaurant. Gabe was excellent as waiter. Food was wonderful. Have the crispy Brussels sprouts no matter what. A must have.
Everyone was very friendly, smiling, and respectful. Our server Megan was excellent. She checked on us frequently, was knowledge about the menu items and always had a smile. We will definitely be returning again in the near future.
We had a wonderful brunch meal. Lucas is just the best, and we have already told friends and family that we want to take them to The Barn. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
We have been a few times this year and have always enjoyed. The last couple of times we have by choice given up our table reservation to sit at the Bar for Sunday Brunch. We like the service at the bar and the staff are all friendly and ready to accommodate our requests. This is not to say we have not had similar service at tables. The drink are well made and the menu selection is the same. We look forward to returning for another meal real soon.
The food was really bad. This is the first time I was disappointed at the barn. Will not go back.
Wonderful place to have a special celebration dinner!
Great date night location - excellent food and drink menu!! Highly recommend
My husband and I were celebrating a birthday. We patiently waited an extra 10 minutes because our table was not ready. Not a big deal. Once seated, we waited another 10 minutes to be served water. Under the table, tomatoes, lettuce, and pieces of beef had not been swept up. So I cleaned the floor :) because I did not want to forget about the mess and later slip!
Our young waiter appeared to take our drink order after an additional 10 minute wait. He then stopped by ten minutes later and asked us if we were ready for our drinks.
Very odd question. The whole evening proceeded in this similar fashion with each course.
I can only assume this lad was poorly trained and/or it was his first week as a waiter.
I state that I recommend The Barn because I hope this was an anomaly.
First time at the Barn for dinner was meant to be special to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday with our friends for a total of 12 guests.
Our server informed us that, per the manager, we would only be permitted a max of 4 checks and that this was her first time with a large party.
While our server was pleasant an personable, she struggled with the party size. The bar was totally unable to handle the drink orders and multiple beers on the tap list we not available anymore.
The food however was delicious.
We wrapped the evening up with a birthday cake that we brought from outside and we were aware that there would be a serving charge. The cake was never "served" other than our server carried it from the kitchen to our table. The charge for that was $20. My wife cut the cake and served it to our friends.
We had figured out how we were going to manage the checks for the group but when the check came is was simply a list of items with no separation by seat. There was no attempt to group items and after 20 minutes of struggling to make sense of it ourselves, we gave up and someone offered up their card for the whole group.
I'm glad the food was good and the venue was very nice but the other aspects of the evening make it unlikely that we would return.
The food and service were excellent. It is a little more expensive, so more of a special occasion place for me, but you definitely get your money's worth!
The visit this week was only slightly less outstanding. We brought another Lebanon couple who had never been to The Barn. Service was a little slow probably because of a wedding reception going on.
The food was good, the service was friendly and efficient.
Menus were dirty..silverware dirty..ran out of the pasta dish for a 715 reservation. Tables were sticky…food less than desirable..high expectations…never again..
Great service and good quality. Originally reserved for outside seating. Too much noise from the band. Moved indoors, and all was good!
Our Dinner service was nice experience And our Waitress/Hostess Sammi was Wonderful! She made our Dinner a truly great and enjoyable Eve!
The food at Allenberry was, once again, outstanding and our server was very pleasant! However, we were very disappointed the servers and guests were not wearing masks, considering our area has a HIGH spread of COVID right now. If you're concerned about COVID and are looking for a dining experience where the establishment takes it seriously and looks out for the safety of their guests, staff and their families, Allenberry is not that place right now. Perhaps they'll change their COVID safety protocols soon.
As usual, The Barn at Allenberry did not disappoint. We had brunch on the porch while listening to an amazing band, and better yet, it was a beautiful day! We enjoyed everything we ate, and headed out to the front porch to sit in the rocking chairs and just enjoy the butterflies flitting around the beautiful flowers planted in the gardens. We also enjoyed a stroll down to the water. This is truly a destination experience..so much more than just eating brunch in a restaurant.
Allenberry is always a delightful experience!
We had an enjoyable time with our friends, all of us experiencing the Barn at Allenberry.
Allenberry has turned the corner. Much more user friendly. We live nearby. For a casual/upscale experience, reserve a table in the bar. Or sit at the bar.
Incredible food & service! Cannot wait to go back!
Our food was outstanding. All four of us loved our meals. I had a pepper encrusted NY strip that was prepared to a perfect medium. The seasoning was very tasty but not overdone. Save room for the sticky bun.
The food was delicious and the waitress was very personable and capable. Brunch was delightful as was the show in the playhouse. Keep up the good work at Allenberry.
Love this place All was excellent Food delicious Drink blueberry mule very good Staff friendly
