The Blue Ball
Considered to be one of the prettiest pubs in the area, the Blue Ball Inn is the ideal location should you wish to visit us for a glass of wine, a pint of traditional real ale, a tasty bar snack or an enjoyable lunch or evening meal in our delightful restaurant. Inside, you will find a relaxed ambiance full of style and comfort with its cosy interior. During the cooler months the real log-burning fire creates a lovely atmosphere whilst in warmer months you can sit outside in our beer garden which enhances this charming restaurant and pub watering hole.
Our head chef takes real pleasure in cooking culinary delights and delicacies using Devon's finest produce that always reflects the season of the year.
Loved our Sunday roast! Very very friendly staff and food delicious! Really ate in the bar area and really liked the fact that although it was busy you were not rushed through - you even noticed we were squinting in the sun and came over to close the curtains. Will definitely be back.
From the minute we got in the service was friendly and smooth. Nothing was too much for them and the food was outstanding in flavour and presentation. The only bad thing was the meal was so large I didn’t have room to try a dessert! Will definitely go back.
Christmas Eve meal . Great atmosphere and menu choice. Food was delicious and came quickly
We chose the Blue Ball after Googling somewhere near J30 to meet family, and booked online.
Embarrassingly, we were running late, so contacted the pub to let them know - no problem was the response. Then one of our party had to skip out between courses. Again, no problem! Whatever we threw at them, they handled perfectly.
The food was delicious, beautifully presented on hot plates and tasted as good as it looked. This was probably the best roast I have ever had in a pub or restaurant. We will def be back.
Charming staff who helped make our Mum's birthday celebration very enjoyable. Thanks
Havr been previously and had a lovely meal
Came for my birthday. It was a Sunday so made an error in not recognising it was a reduced menu so daughter already disappointed as she had chosen from website
Roast served to daughter and husband. They didn't complain as didn't want to spoil birthday. However afterwards said it was really poor. Cold. Felt like lunchtime leftovers. Potatoes hard. Overall dreadful meal
Nothing to fault, staff were friendly and efficient. Food was superb. Highly recommend.
Initially we were not shown to table, told if a table number which was wrong. Had to remind twice to get service . After we had a waitress, she was very good. The restaurant was very busy at start which might have caused the initial lack of service.
The team at The Blue Ball were really helpful, making sure there were options to meet the dietary requirements of one of our party. We had a very nice lunch of gluten free fish and chips with beautifully cooked fish and lovely sausage and mash - thank you!
Had to pay 10 pounds car parking fee as the rugby match was on so check before booking
Perfect stop pre-rugby. Friendly, helpful staff, and a second bar in the garden an excellent facility. Food was fine. As expected on a rugby day, there were plenty of people looking to be fed and the pub seemed to deal with the demand very well.
Excellent service and food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had a lovely table and staff were attentive without being intrusive thank you!
Booked here as close to a pick up point for a family member. Considering the proximity to the motorway at a busy junction it was surprisingly quiet. Lovely pub, great food and a good selection of ales and spirits (especially Gin.!) food was really good, service was excellent.
