The food was good…not enough options on the brunch menu.
The floor was disgustingly sticky. When that’s the first thing i encounter, it puts a pall on the rest of my visit. And there was no one to greet us for 3 min at the stand. Even though the place was empty.
I should have paid more attention to the menu prior to booking our reservation. Only three entrées the rest was bar food style. I was looking for a more intimate “high end” evening with a cool atmosphere, but this ended up basically being a bar that I took my wife to on our anniversary. Before we even sat down my wife noted that the floor was very sticky and it bothered her all evening. The stereo system was very loud and made it difficult to have a conversation. It was also extremely cold and the low ceiling made it so the air was always blowing on you. All this said none of it was really the fault of the business and given different circumstances I would go there again and I see how the place defiantly could cater to a younger crowd (personally I’m 35). Instead of having a nice meal we settled for splitting some apps and had a few beers.
None of the staff wore a mask!!! The appetizer took forever. The Buffalo chicken salad was with iceberg and overload of blue cheese. The brisket entree was like rubber and looked and tasted bad.
We got there for an early meal and a drink and the ambiance was great. Real cellar feel. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was great, especially the shrimp appetizer, so good.
Really disappointing. We were the only group in the restaurant on a Sunday at 12:30. It took over an hour for the first meal to come out, and then long pauses between the next set of meals. The food was ok, but the wait time was awful. Will not return.
We were seated quickly but anything we asked for (drinks, menus, etc) took minimum 15-20 minutes to receive. We ordered our food, appetizer, and dessert all at once about 25 min into our seating. The appetizer took 2 hours to get to us, and our dinner 2 hours 45 minutes. The dessert came quickly and another 30 for the check. Our waters were always full but our cocktails empty at least 25 minutes before being checked on. It seemed like there was a problem in the kitchen since *no one* was getting their food. At least, when it came out it was hot and good quality.
Place was packed on a Sat. Tables were pre-COVID distance apart. My watch warned me that noise level was above 90 db. Reservation 6:30. Sat at 6:45. Server first arrived 7:05 and had no fewer than 7 tables. Appetizer arrived 8:15. I mean, it was a lettuce wedge. Entree featured fishy-smelling rockfish, sautéed spinach, and scalloped potatoes that were molded and noticeably cold in the middle. Apple empanadas were good at least. Ladies’ room door is a beeline view down the bar, so close the door tightly, ladies! I will not be back.
We were ignored for the first 30 minutes we were there, managed to order a round of drinks and appetizers and then 2 hours after we sat down, still had not received our food. We ended up leaving without eating with barely an apology let alone acknowledgement of the horrendous service from the manager.
My fiancé and I went for restaurant week and was excited to check out this place after looking at the menu to be offered. I started with the goat cheese fritters
Served with apple compote. These were good but nothing I would go out of my way to recommend. For my entree, I ordered the brisket which was way too salty and was full of fat that made the pieces extremely chewy. I could not eat more than one small slice. The potatoes had potential but were cold when served. For the third course, I ordered the apple empanadas. The empanadas again had potential but were scarcely filled and the dough lacked flavor.
My fiancé had a more positive experience. He order the cream of crab soup which he did really enjoy. For the entree, he ordered the rockfish that was served with bruschetta and commented that the pairing worked real well however again, nothing he would go out of his way to brag about. For the third course he orders the cheesecake, which was delicious.
I would like to complement the host and hostess. The staff were very friendly and were attentive to our table without being obtrusive.
Perhaps I just ordered wrong as my fiancé liked his dinner better than I did.
We have had great food in the past. Unfortunately our meal during restaurant week was a disappointment. The soup was like warm, rockfish was very fishy tasting and dry. My husband’s meal presentation was good, but mine was not. I had to ask about one of the sides, which was a type of potato augrauten. Unfortunately it was burnt. Over all the meal was very bland.
Had a good time. Food was good moderate priced.
Not business casual like stated on the website. Seat yourself concept and didn’t even ask if we had a reservation. Food was okay. It was pub food.
The Crab Dip appetizer is outstanding! Our meal was delicious as well . . . and the service was great! As an older couple, I think we got out of there just in time before the volume went up. If you're a younger couple arrive later in the evening rather than sooner. ;-)
Have been coming here for years and couldn’t have been happier. The restaurant features comedians and karaoke, which in my opinion adds value to the place. If you’re just interested in dinner, this is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.
The hostess was very sweet. She very quickly seated us at our table, and instantly provided us with water. Our server never had the greatest attitude. Once we were sat, we had about 3 minutes until our server came and asked if we would like anything to start off. We asked for a couple of minutes to look over the menu (it was our first time visiting the restaurant). She did not look thrilled with the fact that we did not have any idea of what was on the menu, and within 2 minutes, came back to the table and asked if there was any update for her as to what we would like to start off the meal with.
We were rushed into ordering our drinks, and then when it came time to ordering our entrees, the service level declined once she realized we were not going to be ordering dessert.
Overall, the food was good (a little higher prices given what was actually provided), and we most likely will not be returning.

We went for Sunday brunch. Bloody Mary's were good nut nothing special. Chicken and waffle was very good. We sat outside which was nice.
Went for the comedy night and had a fantastic time.

First time there was a good experience. Service was good beginning with the hostess who sat us despite our being half an hour late. Cocktails were good but the bar is set high with several good cocktail bars downtown. Food was good. Need to try a few other things on the menu before feeling confident in judging the kitchen. Will definitely go again but will get out before 10P on the weekend when the dance music starts.
The atmosphere was great. The food was good. We had burgers and one brisket sandwich. The brisket was good but I was not expecting it to come out the way it did. It was a slab of brisket on a bun. While it did taste good I ended up shredding it and resembling it on the bun.
First experience at the Cellar Door was pleasant. Crab bisque excellent, brisket sandwich flavorful. Wine by the glass was a bit expensive, local beers and ales on tap tasty. Getting to and using the restrooms requires agility.
Service was good, steak was supposed to be medium, was very rare. Crab soup was fantastic though, as was the salmon.
The oysters were mad wet. My date was a vegetarian but still ate the oysters. Successful night id say..
Steak frites doesn't come with French fries and the Steak was cooked Medium rare on the edges and Well done in the middle.

On this review when you are asked to rate the noise level it only gives you, quiet - moderate - energetic. It should give you quiet - moderate - loud. It was very hard to talk with someone who was only 3 feet from me because of all the bar noise. The food is overpriced and not all that good given the other options around. If it hadn't been for the 1,000 open table points they offered I would not have gone.
Excellent food and service. My first time back in a few years and was happily surprised. Will be back again.

The wings were bland, the tex mex didn’t specify there were mushrooms in it and my fiancée hates mushrooms, so he couldn’t even eat his. The crab dip was awesome though and the staff was great.
We went the the Cellar Door for New Years Eve dinner, drinks and entertainment. The food was fantastic, the drinks were consistent and yummy and the entertainment was fun, however I wish the comedy show would have lasted a bit longer. Our servers were on top it and made us feel welcomed.
The service was quite kind and hospitable. The food, especially the loaded brisket sandwich, gave us the energy we needed to keep up with everyone in their fancy Christmas sweaters. Please keep the chicken soup that has all sorts of veggies in it on the menu.
We have just discovered brunch at The Celler Door and having just made our second visit we couldn’t be more pleased. The food and service excellent and we are looking forward to our next visit
It was our first time there and we loved it. The staff are super friendly, attentive and the chef was very nice and came to the table to check how the food was. We loved every single thing about the restaurant!!

The restaurant was cozy and inviting, the food was excellent and included brunch favorites and some unexpected delights. The service was attentive and friendly and the seating was comfortable.

Surprisingly after making a reservation for 6 pm on Saturday there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived. The service was quick and the food was ok. May return for the bar but nothing about dinner makes me want to go back.
First time visiting with friends from out of town. Went for Sunday brunch; $5 mimosas and bloody mary's. Chicken and Waffles and eggs Benedict (see menu for correct name)....the cook caught me doing a happy dance while enjoying my food. Great bartender! Great waitress! Will definitely go back. Thanks for a great brunch!
