Very loud, pretty bad table. The restaurant claimed that we did a no show, which wasn’t true. Especially the host/ hostesse were pretty impolite.

Great experience overall.

The service was extremely slow, the food was not as good and at the end of the meal we saw a mouse.

It literally took one hour for a waiter to come over and serve us. We had to complain to the manager several times for something to be done. All we got for that was a round of shots. I will never go back there. I even had to ask for waters 30 min in.

I didn’t try the food (just fries) so I can’t comment on that but I didn’t get the sense that it’s a place you go to for good food to begin with. I love the atmosphere, music, and decor and their heat lamps outside are extra warm! It is a bit expensive but great for a special occasion.

Fine for drinks but the food was rather disappointing and bland. Fun place for energy levels in Covid times but don't go for the food!

the service was severely behind it took us more than a half an hour to get our drinks and and during the time we were there we had to follow up with our server quite a bit to get drinks. The food was fine-- but frankly overpriced based on the status of the gansevoort. I expected a lot more...

The patio was SO warm!!

Eddie was fantastic. The pancakes And espresso martini I had for brunch was delightful . All the staff was friendly and made the experience great.

This was truly the worst experience I have every had at a restaurant. The table they sat us at was tiny and shoved in a back corner so we asked to move. It then took them 45+ minutes and us asking 4 different people for them just to bring us water and our drinks. A waiter had to retake our order because it apparently got "lost". Then after about another 30 minutes someone came over with a sliced avocado that was supposed to go on a burger with the burger & the appetizers we ordered no where to be seen. We ended up requesting they cancel the order because we were unhappy with the service. I have never walked out of a restaurant and tend to be extremely understanding, but this was truly the worst service I have ever seen at a restaurant.

I came to Chester for Valentine's Day Brunch and the service was horrible. We were sitting at our table for an hour and we had not received our drinks. Then our food came and my husband's side order was missing. Our drinks finally arrived after asking the waitress 3 times and after our food had arrived! My husband's side order arrived after we had finished eating our entire meal! I was extremely disappointed!

Definitely a nice place, but seemed a bit overpriced for the portions and menu options. Also, while understandable, we had called ahead to determine how well-heated the patio was. We were assured that we would be warm in even a t-shirt, but ourselves and those around us all kept their winter jackets and hats. It was incredibly windy and cold, so we came prepared, but that seems like an odd thing to lie about. We were close to the middle and on the restaurant edge of the patio (as opposed to the sidewalk edge), so I couldn't image it would be much warmer in any other seating location.

Good drinks, good ambiance. Very warm which is a big plus these days. Service not great; had to wait a while to be seated and staff not super friendly. For example reminding my table that the restaurant closes in 10min before giving me back my credit card.

Very nice experience. And the patio seating had excellent heat lamps. Loved the food and the service. Highly recommend this restaurant!

The food and drinks are far too expensive for the quality. Criminal to charge that much.

In the current outdoor dinning scenario, it was a pleasant experience. Warm ambiance and warm service. All you need
these times. The outdoor area resembles a lounge, which makes the experience much more comfortable.

Great place for drinks with a friend. Food is overpriced and average. Very good ambience and heating.

Table 312 was amazing... Under the heat lamps, and away from the street it was actually quite warm :-) Thanks for an amazing experience during these challenging times!

Will never go back

Great time at the Chester. Really good food and atmosphere.
And great heaters to keep warm in these coming months!

The Chester might have the best setup for outdoor dining in the city. Was freezing outside but you wouldn’t even know it. If you’re looking for a warm spot to have dinner outside, would definitely recommend.

Loved the place and hospitality! They are hygienic and have a great heated outdoors !

Comfy booths, nice location, good food and drinks, not super upscale, but not casual — I would lose the television sets outside though 🍺 🥘

The outdoor patio set up is so beautiful & incredibly warm to even sit outside during winter. Didn’t even need to wear a jacket. Overall service was amazing, highly recommend!

The food doesn’t match the quality of the cocktails. Food was uninventive, the menu didn’t fit together, and the items we received did not match the description on the menu. Food was also not great quality and when you’re drinking a $20 drink, you want good food to match it.

Had a really fun ambiance with good music playing. However service took a really long time.

We arrived early for our reservation and the host seated us right away. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was perfect.

I almost can't think of anything good to say about this restaurant. the atmosphere felt like a frat party - loud, overcrowded. it took multiple requests to get a drink. the food was actually ok but when we wanted to leave I had to ask 3 times for a check and finally had to go inside and insist on paying so I could leave. another diner was standing next to me trying to get his check (that he had requested several times) as well. the service here is nonexistent.

The chicken sandwich was lame. Do not recommend.

Food was delicious! Especially the Mac and cheese. Yum.
