Granary Square Brasserie, a new restaurant brand from the team behind the Ivy Collection.

The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.

The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.

The food was nice, portions adequate. Place very busy and service as a result somewhat chaotic. We had to ask for the wine list and later for the dessert menu. We also had to wait at least 10 mins for our table booked at 8pm. Overall, a reasonable experience although our other problem with it is that it is extremely noisy.

We felt rushed from the time we sat down & they were more interested in turning the tables rather than letting their customers have a good experience. Before we had ordered drinks they wanted to take our food order & returned 5 minutes later again to ask for our food requests. The waitress didn't understand the wine list & describing a mid priced bottle of wine as ok when asked what it was like! They didn't offer to get the sommelier for assistance & we had to ask. Before we had our drinks they came over to take the food order saying that we needed to order as the table was due back by a specific time. We were aware that this was the case when we booked however it was handled very poorly making us feel unwelcome to stay. The wine was poured very quickly so the bottle had been emptied before we had finished our starters. We didn't order another as we knew we were on a time limit. The food was good but not to the level that the Ivy Brasseries were when they opened. Ironically when we did leave there were several empty tables of four available & had we not been rushed at the beginning we would have stayed longer & ordered more drinks but found another place that was a lot more inviting & welcoming. The total bill is on the higher end of mid range so not a cheap fast food establishment. Has the Ivy Brasserie become a victim of their own success & maybe expanded a little too much so the focus is on revenue rather than the customer experience?

Service is consistently not great - I’ve been here a few times and always been absolutely rushed out the door OR forgotten - there’s no in between. Our table was in the back corner completely in the dark despite there being plenty of space around us. Such a shame as this could be so great.

Lovely place, great staff, really great food, very good choice on menu to suit most peoples requirements. Did miss a couple of bits off our order but when pointed out dealt with super quickly so a very enjoyable lunch.

Front of house staff unwelcoming and surly. Suggested we sit outside for a drink in freezing temperature as our table wasn’t ready and the bar was full. Our waitress on the other hand was friendly and efficient and the food was great.

Service was fantastic, very experienced, diligent & professional waitress. Food was delicious & perfect portions & timely delivery despite a very very busy Saturday evening. Unfortunately our table wasn’t ideal, very cramped & very close to other customers each side …. everyone could hear each others conversation.. ideally they could have spaced us out a bit more etc

The food was really nice, we all enjoyed our choices and service was very good. If I had one criticism it would be the noise level, the music was very loud, which it did not need to be as it was competing with the volume of chatter so could do with being turned down a little so you can chat to your guests around the table.

We did the festive breakfast menu and it was fab! We had a smoothie, muesli and then cooked breakfast for a remarkable price of c.£16.99. The venue, food and service were all impeccable! One of my favourite venues for brunch in Kings Cross. Thank you!

Lovely cosy restaurant, great ambiance. However our staters arrived before our drinks- we had thought we’d have an aperitif before eating but had them after having eaten our starters. When our main courses arrived mine was chicken but I had ordered turbot! Chef offered to cook both main courses fresh for us, but we were on a time limit to get a train so I said I would keep the chicken. The bill arrived with no deductions which surprised me so I asked the waitress to speak with the manager- they deducted the service charge and offered free tea or coffee. Possibly an off night as had been very good the previous visit but not impressed with the experience so will not return.

Excelllent meal as usual and signature dishes to a consistent standard. Can be noisy depending where seated and particularly for tables for 2 which are very close together. more crammed in than other Ivy locations. Service yesterday not to usual standard I ordered a glass of chardonnay when ordering 2 glasses of prosecco. Half way through the meal I reminded a waitress I had ordered a glass of Chardonnay and again towards the end, the wine turned up after the main course had finished 😥

Had a superb meal with a friend. The restaurant was busy and we had quite a wait for our meal. That said the meal was worth the wait. I had fish cakes and my friend had chicken both meals were absolutely delicious. I don't like mince pies but decided to try, as the next table had ordered and it looked devine. It didn't disappoint. The pastry was so lite and the filling was just the right amount and not overly sweet. Great meal was had by us both especially with the service provided by our very pleasant and patient server Jayce. I'll definitely be returning to The Granary which really did elevate The Ivy brand reputation.

We visited as a small work group, only 4 of us. The food was outstanding and the restaurant itself was beautiful. It was very busy but this did not stop the staff being very attentive.

We were kept waiting for our booked table and staff do not seem to know what they were doing There are not enough waiting staff so our main course arrived after an hour and not hot. The guy was very apologetic and charming but …. Used to be great place but won’t go again

Very busy and so we were asked to leave after two hours….never great but it is coming up to Christmas and the restaurant was full. Being full tells you what you need to know, it’s well worth a visit, very good menu and food.

The food and restaurant were lovely. The service less so; we almost felt like an annoyance to our waiter. Our repeat drinks orders were slow to come and we were made to feel bad reminding them! There might also be a more gracious way to move a table on when their reservation slot is coming to an end!

Be prepared to be asked to vacate your table. Times are limited, which made myself and my friend feel rushed. Spoilt an otherwise enjoyable reunion. Food and staff excellent and a lovely venue. I will go back, but will be aware that time is limited.

Tons of orause fir our waiter Yasin who looked after us all evening. Service with a smile all the time from him. Also had a great sense of humour. The food was simply amazing and delicious. Did though find the sourdough bread (starter) extremely dry and very hard. Tooth-breaking to eat that! So, left it. Decor, atmosphere and surrounding was beautiful . Majaz
