Preserving the traditional character of this 15th century cosy pub in East Sussex, drink and dine amongst exposed beams, low ceilings, and cosy corners with an open fire to warm those toes. The food was phenomenal, the sevice was outstanding. Honestly a very very beautiful place to dine. Our party of 4 were made to feel welcome and wanted, the front of house staff topped the evening off with a "Happy Birthday" dessert that we were not expecting.

Overall a good experience, one small complaint, it was not made clear to me when I called to confirm if the venue was dog friendly, that dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant. Apart from that miscommunication, a very pleasant experience.

Really enjoyed our night, atmosphere was great, service pretty good, though at times a little slow, but when we were interacting they were polite, smiled and courteous. So all in a minor point. Really interested in going again. The food was fabulous and I had food-envy of my friends meals!
