Slow to get seated but staff was friendly and did their best.
We had a great dinner outside on the patio. Food was great, and we had awesome service. Great casual spot.
The Hat Tavern was an OpenTable pick for a recent Saturday night out.
The noise level was off the charts, even though there were only 5 tables seated (about 16ppl), to the point that it was almost intolerable. The ceilings are low and the sound just bounces around with no adsorptive surfaces.
Mixed drinks we tried were tasty and were good pours. Tap system was mostly down, and beer options were one of the reasons we picked this place. Tried one of the tap wines and icy and bland.
The food had potential, but mostly fell flat. We went for a bunch of starters to mix it up, and it was mostly just oily, so any good flavors were masked by that.
Our server was good - she was attentive and our okayed came out at a reasonable pace and accurate. She was the best and most consistent part of our visit.
I’d say if the bar opened up and we were looking for a place to get some strong drinks and expected a loud atmosphere, we’d go back; just not to eat.
COVID-related (for those that are worried): Restaurant scanned for temps and everyone was masked up, as well as table spacing per current restrictions.
Great food and service! Very busy and a little understaffed, but the servers communicated that upfront, and really worked hard.
What a lovely evening. We were seated away from the other patrons, so It was quiet. Our waitress as well as the manager were attentive and pleasant. And, our burgers were made to order and delicious. The manager assured us that the “new” fries were good, and they were! It was nice to be back at “The Hat.” We will return.
We were looking for a good burger with no advance planning and because of COVID restrictions, our usual choices had no availability. So, we tried something new and were pleasantly surprised! The Hat Tavern has great food and cocktails and on Saturday evenings, the prime rib is very popular! That’s what we wanted, but they were sold out! We had a burger and filet mignon tips and both were very good. The wait was a few minutes because there aren’t many waitstaff, but they’re experienced, pleasant and made up for the short wait with good service. The lighting is a little bright (hence my ambiance score) as mentioned in another review, but it was fine for us. I will definitely go there again!
Food was delicious, and the service was excellent...very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was also following Covid protocols, we felt very safe.
One problem, my husband has a craft card entitling us to a discount ,he found it on the website prior to going but they did not accept it. He did get on touch with the craft card issuer ,they are going to look into it.
Always love a meal at Hat Tavern!
Don’t know if it’s COVID related but the place isn’t as inviting as it once was. Service was a slow, there was a sense of confusion even though there were hardly any people there. The lights were on full blast like last call time. It was weird.
food extremely overpriced , limited menu, service was excruciating slow - would not recommend
Was a nice time service was good food was great
Once again a great evening with host Ted! Great food and drinks
Came by on a Saturday for the live entertainment and dinner with the family. The entertainment was great, the server was very nice but the food was well below our expectations. C- level bar food. I would keep it to a burger and beers. Anything more adventurous will likely be disappointing.
The service was really bad. So slow and brought wrong food and then charged for it. Food was just ok.
Very pleased with entire evening.
Great staff and food
Nice outdoor space in back, friendly service and comfort food. And a bar!
I left a little hungry. Portions small e.g. no veg with crab cakes. Great service. Ambiance fine. Drinks fine.
Susan and staff great!
Burgers and sangria were great
Tucked away in this exclusive hotel in the middle of nowhere, this restaurant is trying to make a classic cheeseburger and grilled
chicken sandwiches a fancy-shmancy thing. The server made the entire experience worth it. He was kind and helpful while
being understanding of the children at the table. He gave honest suggestions and those who listened were happy with their meal. I don’t think a cheeseburger should be around 20 dollars unless
it has bone-marrow in it! Average food, slightly overpriced, but great service can make the differerence.
My husband and I needed to get out of the house for outside dining. We had perfect night at the Hat Tavern. The red sangria was delicious and the chicken special was outstanding. We felt that we were safe with social distancing and all the servers were wearing masks and gloves.
We had a lovely evening at the Hat Tavern! The staff, especially our server, were all great. Relaxing, friendly place. We all enjoyed our meals, and also were impressed with the smooth, professional handling of new regs/restrictions. Would definitely recommend.
Service was great given outdoor dining as the option. Ted our waiter was thorough and knowledgeable in his food recommendations. Food was good and it was good to be back at the Hat!
