    After visiting Ivy Asia in Guildford and having a great experience, I thought I would book a client dinner at the one based in St. Paul's. Unfortunately, it was highly disappointing. The customer service was terrible. The lady on the front desk was rude, cold and frankly shouldn't be in a job she clearly doesn't enjoy. My client even commented on her behaviour which was embarrassing given I had picked the venue. The menu was limited and the service at the table was rushed, short and it felt that we were an inconvenience dining there! I would avoid and choose a different location.

    We booked months in advance but were given the worst table in the restaurant - in the middle with people walking by and no room for the 3rd guest to sit as she was under a tree and no room for the bags and then no room for the food and drinks on the table. Then we were rushed throughout the email and then asked to leave the table "now". I had heard such nice things but very disappointing and didn't feel like the treat i wanted for my guests.

    Ivy Asia St. Paul's is a fantastic restaurant, amazing food in an incredible atmosphere - big theatre. Have come here a few times and it amazes every time. For a very busy restaurant it is surprising that the noise management is superb.

    Even though the food and drinks were amazing, which they always are - I was extremely disappointed with the waiting time over my pre-booked table. I had a reservation for 22:00 and arrived exactly at 22:01, and was told that my table will be ready in a few minutes. I noticed multiple groups of people waiting near the lobby next to me. Fast forward to 25 minutes later, and we still did not get our table. When asked about the waiting time, the staff said they could not do anything about it. After about 35-40 minutes of waiting we finally got our table. It was an extremely long wait even though I had already booked my table. I personally feel there are far better restaurants out there which do not require such a long waiting time for a PRE-BOOKED table. I will not be dining again here.

    Gary the manager was aggressive and extremely unprofessional to me and my daughter. He actually spat on me whilst talking, I asked him to step back, he was trying to overwhelm us. My sons birthday was ruined by hid rude management style. The staff told me go find your table and when I complained the staff apologised. Gary actually said you are welcome to leave. Now. I said its my son’s birthday. Unfortunately I don’t want to ruin his evening. At the end of the night. My son and daughter as well as husband said to Gary his behaviour was shame. Regards Mrs Joshi

    Food was amazing but service was pretty awful. Kept being reminded of the table duration that we had (which is not a problem) but then it would take forever to be served/ have plates cleared etc. staff became quite aggressive when we had to leave but then again disappeared for 20 minutes when we tried to pay the bill.

    Really enjoyed most of the food although the salt and pepper beef was so chewy and inedible I had to spit it out in my napkin. I should have complained. Shame as the rest of the food was really nice, especially the doughnuts! Felt a little rushed with only two hours allowed at the table but would give it another go.

    Great location and food. But very busy and noisy and it was only an early dinner on a Tue. Staff were all very helpful, but made you feel like it was just a ‘conveyer-belt’ operation, with no personal touches whatsoever. Shame.

    We had a fantastic meal, staff were very helpful, food was superb, however we were asked to leave the table after a certain amount of time when no-one else used the table after us. This was very disappointing and spoilt what was a fantastic dining experience. This is not the first time with this group that this has happened and after spending the amount of money we did, in my opinion is not acceptable.

    The ambiance was excellent but the food was terrible. Would have been better off going to a Chinese food place that costs 10 pounds for an entire meal. Go for the experience if you want but the food is yuck

    This was a gift for us, whilst celebrating a special birthday too! Beautiful setting and gorgeous food . Our waiter David was exceptional and made the day even more special Will definitely go again!

    Stunning restaurant. Appauling service it took forever to get a drink it came after starters. Next came for dessert. Waited 10 minutes for cutlery. Waitress said do you want to know what the food is or just take pictures!!! Very strange!!!

    Great venue, great staff and wonderful staff. I thought some items a little over priced and the 2 hour table limit makes it a fast paced lunch but these are minor things. I would recommend and will be going again myself

    A bit of an average experience to be honest. I booked this because I always love The Ivy restaurants but it wasn't the same at all. Arrival, service and food was of average quality and not particularly welcoming, although the cloakroom girl was lovely. I'm not keen on the whole 'small plates' approach as all it really does is benefit the kitchen, so that they don't have to produce complete meals for a table all at the same time. The floors made of green and pink agate slices is probably the best thing about this restaurant and I wish I'd booked somewhere else.

    As this is the second time I’ve been to Ivy Asia, the previous one was at Mayfair, so I’ve had something to compare to. The service here could have been a lot better, as the food arrived, there was no introduction to them, nothing telling us about the food and what it’s story was. There was also a lack of attention from the people serving us, I’ve had to put my hands up quite often and frequently in order to gain their attentions

    Arrived 9.15pm, our table was booked for 9.45pm. After waiting in the lobby until 9.45pm to be told we can sit at the bar until our table was ready. We did not get seated until 10.20pm. We could even see people who would come in after us be seated before us which was rather annoying. We was finally able to order our food however when the food arrived it was not hot and seemed as though it had been reheated, to top it off they forgot to bring out one of our dishes. The place looks nice and the energy is good, however I will not be going back as I felt the food was not that great and the service was even worse.

    Had to wait 40 minutes for our pre-booked table - half of which was spent in the foyer outside. Could have done with a better update as to what the delay was. We were eventually allowed to wait in the bar. Staff were helpful & made up for our wait by giving us complimentary desserts. Lovely food & atmosphere just a bit chaotic on arrival

    We were 15 minutes early & made to wait downstairs ....no seats..we could've sat/stood upstairs at bar but they said to wait downstairs. Waitress was sullen, unfriendly. Food runners were sullen unfriendly. Food was not hot enough. Vegetarian food was good. Rushed service, waitress was trying to take our drinks/plates but we kept saying it's not finished. The goal of the staff was to get us in and out as quick as possible. Very disappointed.

    We had to wait a while for our table that was booked . When we eventually got served, the staff were excellent and very attentive . Food was great . Disappointed however that there was no crispy duck on the menu at the St Paul’s branch .

    The venue was fabulous. Me and my wife had a great time. The food was out of this world, probably some of the best we have ever eaten out. Service was faultless. Location was perfect and view was great where we sat of St Paul's Cathedral. The decor of the restaurwnt was fantastic, obviously a great deal of detail and work was carried out to make it look like it is. Highly recommended to friends. Mamy thanks.

    A disappointing experience. The hype about this place is definitely not warranted. Food was good but let down by the service which is best described as trandactional. Arrived 10 minutes before table time and were left stanfing for 25 minutes in a rather cold reception area. We asked if we could have a drink at the bar but were refused as it was "too busy". That was known by the young lady on reception one floor down from the dining area. During the meal we asked a member of the team if we could have some more water and access to our wine to be told "ask your waiter" - she turned around and walked off. This is not good enough especially given the amount dinner here costs. It can be done because our experience at other Ivy restaurants has been excellent (Winchester especially). So overall dissatisfied withthe dining experience. We will not be coming back nor would we recommend this restaurant.
