Wine took 30 mins to arrive. Food was served before any wine opened. Vegetables were cold and had to be replaced. Waitress very good but not supported by her team. Concessions given to us by staff but the ambience of the evening was spoiled.
Love the restaurant but a collapse of service on this occasion.
Booked a reservation...to celebrate our anniversary, i have eaten at the Ivy resturants coven gardens with my partner many times before. As we live down the street we decided to use this opportnuity to experience Chelsea gardens show at the ivy garden... i never felt more of a tourist trap in my life. From thw host not even lifting her eyes from the pad and the 4 mobile phones on the counter... to yelling across of me to anothwr person a table number and how many people eith "can you sit them" to being set in a garden at the exit route to staff walking back and front bumping into us ... asked to move left standing in the middle of the resturant only to come back and be moved inside table with two large group parties on either side... and much much more that made our experience horrible and no one gave a dang about it... if u celebrateing anything please stay away... this place is a toursit trap and instagram influencer and not meant for special occasions
Very disappointing experience - never used to be like that before.
Too many hostesses at the entrance with attitude and not being welcoming or accommodating.
We booked our table for a nice Sunday lunch . To start with all the unnecessary pretentious reception ‘ nonsense’ upon arrival already put us off . We were not coming to be escorted and shoved right left and centre - it was supposed to be a relaxed Sunday gathering!
Food was ok - but again - a place like that should be more cool, simple and with less attitude from young staff which then adds to an overall experience for guests.
Won’t go there again. There are far many other great restaurants in Chelsea!
Food excellent but restaurant over busy and service very poor. Be careful requesting a garden table… the ‘indoor’ garden is beautiful, decorated and ambient. The last bit of garden where we were put (at a 6-seat table for 4 people) was wet, uncomfortable and had absolutely no atmosphere.
Delicious food and excellent customer service ! My favourite place in Chelsea
Fantastic service and food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Awesome as always
Lovely ambiance, by unfortunately 1 meal was burnt was sorted but meant we didn’t eat together.
Always amazing! Only downside with sitting outside is having to leave at 10pm!
Outstanding service, food was beautiful! Good options for vegetarian!
Great location, gorgeous interior. Overall a lively, buzzy evening. However, downside was thumping, needless background music which required a lot of shouting. Sofa seating uncomfortable, food was ok, with the exception of the salmon main course which was dry and tasteless. Finally, I felt that the 15% service charge was overly steep. As a party of 5, it meant a tip of £30. Whatever happened to 10% with the discretion to add more.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and nice food. We had to wait a while for some drinks but were offered a free coffee at the end to compensate. I would definitely go back again though.
The atmosphere was very magical and the food was very nice although the green juice with the afternoon tea was not nice at all! Only thing that kind of let down the experience was the service quite slow and cramped table with lack of attention clearing used items and topping up drinks etc otherwise loved it.
Lovely place to go, the food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. The waiter appeared to be preoccupied and I had to keep asking to served, even when he was serving us he was looking at the table behind us.
I had to ask him if there was problem with our table? Once we had that conversation the service was better. Overall a fantastic visit with the exception of the waiter.
Rudest staff you’ll ever meet don’t waste your money
It was a birthday brunch and they made it exceptional!! Very beautiful restaurant, the garden is marvellous! The food was very tasty and the service was perfect! We will definitely go back!
The best thing about the Ivy is the decor. The food was good but not mind blowing - they didn’t tell us that elements of the dish had to be swapped out until after we received the food. The service was lacking- we got our mains before our drink order, we had to ask for water 3 times and the bill took 30 minutes to come. They waived the service charge and some of our drinks to apologize, but I’m not sure we will be running back.
Beautiful restaurant and lovely staff, but the food was so disappointing. You want it to be better because the service and decor is so great.
Fantastic service from all 6 waiters.
Food lovely and a surprise birthday cake for my wife
Waiting staff let the place down, very abrupt and not at the level of a ‘destination’ restaraunt in London; shame but otherwise lovely.
Such a pretty restaurant with a great buzz of activity. Food and service were excellent - what more could you wish for? That was my second visit and will definitely go again.
Lovely feel of a garden room with lots of plants. Delicious food at reasonable price.
We had outdoor seating which I didn’t request and we had to get roof closed at one point. Food was good.
Poor service , chicken Milanese , chicken dry and bland
Visited Ivy Chelsea Garden for the first time, staff were excellent on arrival, both at front desk and bar. Were asked to wait while our table was made up but was quickly told it was ready and taken to the outside courtyard. The table was maybe just a little small but location was beautiful next to the fountain.
All staff were attentive and accommodating. The food was excellent although we both thought our main course lacked a little seasoning but that was personal preference possibly.
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit and will look forward to trying some of the other locations soon.
Specia occasion for family - had brunch which was generally good although have had better. Service a bit sporadic and confused but very polite and accommodating. The location is lovely and rather nostalgic having spent lots of time in Henry J Beans back in the ‘80s…. Poached eggs were fantastic but bread could be better. Coffee didn’t taste of that much. Generally a very good experience despite the minor complaints
Staff needs to be much better
The food was simply awful. This is a glorified McDonalds, except that the food at McDonalds is actuallu not bad.
O social distancing on tables
It was too hot to breathe
What a wonderful evening!
Excellent service, beautiful ambience and delicious food!
Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food. However, I did expect better service. The waiter we had was very pleasant and smiley, we loved him but he was under too much pressure. We had to wait far too long for drinks and any attention from a waiter. The head waiter for our area seemed grumpy and under a lot of pressure. For this reason I wouldn’t hurry back
I’ve had the luxury of being seat in the garden. Absolutely outstanding, beautiful and elegant. Great atmosphere and I’ve only been for afternoon tea, delicious and staff very polite pleasant and friendly
Excellent in every way an extremely enjoyable lunch with my daughter.
Loverly setting. Great service and food. Will definetly return
Outdoor seating in the garden with large umbrella outside, semi-outdoor seating in covered conservatory outside with retractable roof but some sunnier patches due to windows, indoor seating completely shaded.
I love the decor here - colourful jungle with parrotts, and pot plants around. Fairly bohemian in style. White tablecloths/napkins, etc. Loos downstairs. Service attentive.
Both my friend and I are fussy eaters. I am fishatarian, and had a very tasty vegetarian halloumi dish. My friend is allergic to gluten and garlic, and was still able to find something to eat. Waiter was very helpful on this score, running back and forward to the kitchen to check.
Good experience - I would definitely go again.
We love the Ivy but the service was not great! We kept having to ask for our white wine to be served and the waitress asked us where it was and we figured that was something she should know!
Tthe food was excellent as in all the locations we have been to.
However it was extremely noisy and very very uncomfortably hot. In fact could not wait to leave. Cut our meal short did not have dessert or extra drinks.
Just before leaving a couple arrived at another table, instantly complained about the heat and instantly a fan was provided for them. This was plugged in under my bench seat with trailing wire to their table. Not exactly the right thing to do with diners walking around not to mention staff with hot food.
I have dined several times at Ivy Chelsea gardens before. Yesterday I had dinner there with my husband to celebrate my birthday. Food and service was very disappointing!
Very consistant good food. Very pleasant embiance
This is such a beautiful environment couldn’t fault anything
