Friendly staff great atmosphere as it’s the run up to Christmas.
Quality of food always wonderful
But service was slow and food was cold/just warm
Not much of a Christmas menu or not Christmas set lunch menu disappointing
Much better lunch in September this year.
Hopefully it’s just that they are so busy Christmas time, won’t be going there again this time of year.

Booked a lovely breakfast for my wife’s 40th birthday 🎉
Good selection of brunch/breakfast options.
Thank you for the profiterole with a candle!!
Only issue was that the toast was a bit cold…

Couldn’t fault food or service. Table tiny for 4 people more like a 2 seater so a little cramped. Drinks over priced but food really good value. Will def return

Everything about this visit was excellent except the food, we had an afternoon tea for two. The quality of the food did not reflect the full cost of over £53.90 + discretionary service charge of 12.5% Which I paid as the staff and service were excellent making a total of £60.33.

Although the food was fresh and well presented the sandwich and the rolls were poor in quality and lacked substance, there was not sufficient cream or jam for 4 scones which looked and tasted as if they had come from a motorway service station. There were two bottles of what was described as wonderland juice, this juice was watery and horrible and it left me wondering what it was!
On the positive side the Raspberry Queen cake, Almond macaron
And chocolate shortbread slice were delicious.

If you want to treat yourselves to an afternoon tea in Cheltenham that is worth the money I would recommend the Regency Tea rooms

Great place to meet friends and lunch. Real buzz to the place. Food was delicious and service first class. Not too expensive and not rushed. Lovely restaurant.

The battered fish was a little greasy, the grease leaked onto the plate. The menu failed to describe whether the fish was, cod, haddock, hake or?

Staff kindly moved us from the large dining room to the lounge area as we do find it noisy sometimes and my partner is hard of hearing

Excellent vibe. Staff so friendly. Premises so different and vibrant. And importantly the food was excellent - lovely flavours, correct sized portions, and wide choice of drinks. Cocktails to die for. And toilets a must-see. Although this was a visit at end of November. The Ivy is a must visit during the Jazz and Literature Festivals in Cheltenham!!

Staff very attentive, setting was lovely.
Very pricey as main meals needed extras to become a meal. Ie a steak for £28 was just that no potatoes, tomatoes mushrooms etc unless you paid£3.50 a portion.

My guest did not like the Ivy Royale drink and asked for it to be replaced with a white wine which did not arrive. The green beans were not edible. The sirloin steaks were more medium than medium/ rare and had little flavour. The red wine and chips were delicious. Complaining was rewarded reluctantly with a free cheese board. The bill when presented had the Ivy Royale on it and the waitress argued that we had ordered it and should pay for it. I refused. I also asked for the £15 gratuity to be deleted. This is the third time I have experienced poor food and service at the Ivy and I will not be returning again.

The restaurant was beautiful. However I was not asked for my coat which took up space at the table. We then left to wait considerable time for our meal when people were served who came after us.y husbands food was not hot either.

I also think that sides should be included with the meals as the price of them suggests they have I.e. potatoes etc with them

The staff were really accommodating and moved us to an area of our choice. The waitress serving us was extremely efficient and attentive. The environment was so uplifting and made our family meal so special and memorable. We particularly enjoyed our non alcoholic drinks to accompany the well prepared and presented food.

Outstanding as always. Myself and a friend were celebrating her 30th birthday. She was made to feel very special. The staff, as always, were very attentive and all so polite. The ambience is always impeccable here and one of the reasons why I always want to go back. The food selection was great and it was nice having a festive option. The Christmas decorations made it even more lovely. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Hi there, we arrived and had to wait 30 minutes for our table. Despite me booking in advance for gluten free and us reminding the waitress on the day what arrived was not a gluten free. There was then a delay with that food. In addition when it came the scone had some random coconut cream or milk as apparently cream has yeast in? Also a gluten intolerance is wheat not yeast? The food really wasn't great and we had a rude and unapologetic waitress. We also had to queue in a cramped lobby to het our coats with other guests like sardines... not covid friendly at all. If it hadn't of been for a birthday so I didn't want to create a scene I would have refused to pay for the lot. Really disappointing.

The service is extremely slow although the food comes at a reasonable pace. The waitress was quite rude. There was so seasoning on the table and the staff takes ages to respond when I asked for salt. I ordered a steak and it was tasteless. The menu is overpriced considering the quality of the food

We ordered Tempura prawns but were served prawns with a breadcrumb coating. Tempura is a light batter not breadcrumbs.
Service was bit brusque. In respects of making us feel rushed.

I was told the culinary experience at the Ivy was top of the game in Cheltenham but the food was bland and didn't dance in my mouth. £30 for a ravioli and steak - ravioli was dry and the filling tasted like luncheon meet, while the medium rare steak was not easy to cut into. Maybe it was just a one off but I am not too fond of it. The zucchini fritti were ok but too oily. Just the combination of flavours and ingredients were haphazard.

A shambles. 8.45 table, sat down at 9.30. The restaurant was heaving, they had obviously tried to book in as many tables as possible and couldn’t cope. We skipped the starter as we were so hungry but the main course didn’t arrive until 10.30! Total disaster. Couldn’t eat our meal by then as it was so late. Can’t really comment on the food on this visit! Won’t be going back again!
