Such a wonderful brunch. Lovely outdoor setting. Professional personable server.
Always consistent and delicious.
Everything was superb--the food, the service, the waiters, and the care. A+!
We felt pampered. Most of the food was excellent , but there were a couple of exceptions. We specified our special occasion on the reservation and everybody on the staff acknowledged it, which was very nice.
Excellent, beautiful outdoor setting.
A lovely place to dine. Outside is set up nicely and almost looks Parisian. It is however a bit pricey...............
Excellent as always. Great food and service
Amazing!!! Great food and service every time!!!!!!
Wonderful food, perfect service. Of course, I've always loved the murals, and I'm so glad to see them again!
We were seated in the worst place possible even though there were many other places available. It was a disheartening experience.
Food, ambiance, wine list all amazing. What made the evening, was our server Nicholi,
if I am spelling his name correctly? He was one of the best waiters we've ever had. He was outstanding in every aspect. Thank you for making our experience at the restaurant that much better!
Menu is beautiful- execution is ok.
If you are looking for al fresco dining, this restaurant has a nice set up on a less traveled street. We were seated promptly, attended to right away with a decent selection of wines and apps. The food was a mixed bag with pork lasagna and black truffle quiche as the winners, whereas the risotto and grilled
Octopus leaving us unimpressed. Dessert was good with none of the selections rising to exceptional levels. Service, while attentive and polite, was besmirched by the waiter pouring wine and water from across the table. I think pouring from the side of the diner is some basic to be expected at a restaurant of this calibre. We might wait a bit for the menu to update before frequenting this establishment again.
Amazing food, outstanding service that was attentive but not intrusive, beautiful art deco atmosphere with amazing wall murals.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with outstanding service and delicious food. The ambiance was delightful. We look forward to returning soon.
Food was not as good as usual
You need a reservation apparently even if there are open reservation slots open all evening, we walked up and the maitre d very rudely said “if you don’t have a reservation we can’t sit you inside, outside only”, I replied oh, there are so many time spots open on the app for right now and he ignored me turned and walked inside… it was very awkward and uncomfortable and put a damper on our night, so much so that we considered not coming back at all… instead we walked around the block, made the reservation and came back 10 mins later, when we were seated inside right away by a much nicer man at the host stand inside.
Later during our meal the maitre d came to our table and apologized.
Aside from that unpleasant interaction the food and ambiance is great, we will be back being that we live next door.
excellent service, glorious art in murals, wonderful food, a lovely gracious island for dining experience.
I've supported Cafe des Artistes in its various incarnations for 20+ years, but last night's service was unforgivable: with strong thunderstorm flash flood warnings, i specifically chose an indoor reservation - in fact, Opentable said outdoor res's werent available. When i arrived, the maitre d' dismissively and coldly said indoors was unavailable and that i'd made an outdoor reservation. When i was shown a table with a mere umbrella to protect it, i asked "what happens if we get a storm", and the asst mgr said "that's the risk of an outdoor table", whereupon i reminded her that i'd specifically asked for an indoor table. Rather than hunt for another restaurant at 8 pm, we ate quickly and left. I also noticed that the reservation confirmations from the Leopard DO NOT state whether the table is indoors or outdoors, despite that being a choice one has to make. The service during the meal was barely competent, the meal pedestrian. I'd been willing to overlook the poor value of the cuisine for years, but no longer. But it was the callous attitude of the staff' which makes The Leopard a poor choice for dining.
Get together with old friends for dinner. Outdoor setting is so lovely. Food was fantastic; service was superb and to top it off it’s BYOB on Sunday evenings. It’s a perfect place to dine on a relatively quiet street near Central Park.
Food and wine excellent. Love the atmosphere there.
A wonderful place to dine everyone is very professional and the food delicious.
Phenomenal service, food and ambiance.
Very nostalgic ambiance yet very current. Good food and professional service
A go-to neighborhood jewel
Fantastic service, and the food was divine!
My wife and I had an unfortunate experience on July 5. The food and service were excellent. Each of us had a second glass of a wonderful chardonnay. But when the bill was presented, it was much higher than I expected. When I reviewed the itemized list, we had been charged for eight (8) glasses of chardonnay, rather than four--at $32 each. The management apologized and made the correction, but it's hard to believe that this was an "honest" mistake. Patrons should beware. --Mac Phillips
It was simply fantastic. The outdoor seating area is beautiful.
Our go to place for great meal, good fun, great outdoor dining!
Great service and the Dover sole was perfect
The quality and attention to service at our table for 8 guests was unsurpassed. The food was delicious and abundant. Coming out of isolation, getting to see friends, the leisurely pace was most welcome!
Great food! Great service. So glad it’s in the neighborhood
Very good food
Exceptional Italian dining experience, as always. Especially recommend any of the pastas. Wine list has very large selection of wine from all areas of Italy.
Glad it was busy but couldn't hear the fabulous music
we went here for our first anniversary 35 years ago approximately back when it was Cafe des Artistes. It was great then and now with Chandler murals but now there is sprightly and authentic Italian cuisine!
The food was good, I had the stake and eggs from the special menu and it was great. The mozzarella and tomatoes appetizer was also excellent. Sevice was for the most part good but they could not explain the dishes well.
The outside setting is beautifull and the inside walls and paintings give it a great atmosphere.
The best Italian in NYC by far. Maybe even in Rome or Milan too.
Great as usual. Been going there for years. Unusual list of hard to find wines. Excellent food
One of my favorite all time classy places in the neighborhood.
