Lovely restaurant, the food was great and the service was very good to. We will be visiting again soon.
Service was good but Sunday roast was very bland. Beef had no flavour. Pork ordered and was a slab of fat!
Excellent food, great location, dog friendly, attentive staff.
We ate roast on Sunday. Very nice meal, polite, friendly staff. Slightly different choices of veg would have been nice, but the food was all very tasty.
We’ve eaten here several times, the food is always of a good standard but the menu really needs updating. A weekly special would be a welcome bonus.
The staff are all very polite and friendly..
The food was fantastic as always. The service was also great! We were well looked after. Always love coming to the Locksbrook
Great evening , we were a large group but even with a busy kitchen the food was good
Food was lovely however service was poor! Had to ask multiple times for the same thing for example: drinks, table to be cleared and bill. A table full of work staff distracted working staff making us feel uncomfortable and pushed to a side.
This was a last minute booking in the back of other diners reviews.
What a fantastic place!, food and service.
Will definitely return.
My Wife and I took our Son and his partner out for Sunday Lunch and everything went so smoothly. The young staff were all good at their jobs and nothing was too much trouble. Three of us had roast beef and my Wife had roast belly of pork. We would visit again.
Attentive staff. There were some loud rumbling machine sounds travelling through from another room for part of our meal, which was quite distracting. Staff didn't seem to know what was causing it. Food could have been hotter.
Part of food cold, service not personnel starter just drop on table main course served ok. They did reduce bill for cold food.
Great fish and chips. So filling, tasty with plenty of peas and tartare sauce.
Very friendly and welcoming from staff. We had our 6m old puppy with us and he had a lot of fuss made of him - luckily it was mid afternoon and quite quiet.
Food was tasty.
My salmon on the eggs royal seemed on the turn. My breakfast left a horrible aftertaste, I ate less than half. No one at any point asked how our food was. I was with a friend and i didn’t want to ruin our first breakfast out by complaining. So I ended up paying for a horrible breakfast. The pub is done out nicely, it’s cosy and warm. Unfortunately it was Let down by the food and service
Excellent service as always just a bit on the chilly side as seated outside heaters on would have been nice
Excellent Sunday lunch with a great choice for all tastes.
The food was very good, the service was good too, overall very happy and will dine here again
Great service and nice atmosphere. Just a tad draft.
Longish wait before order was taken. Had to go and find someone to take order. Waitress didn't know much about items on the menu - eg what breads were available for sandwiches?. One of us was then served the wrong lunch and had to wait while it was re-made.
I had a chicken Sunday roast. Everything was cooked quite well but the gravy was not to my liking— quite sweet and did not taste homemade. Was a bit disappointed by that especially cause everything on my plate was drenched in it.
We had the roast beef sunday lunch. It was lovely, the vegetables were all very tasty and the beef cooked to perfection. Staff were really friendly too.
Excellent food and drink. Good service and nice ambiance in the dining room.
Great vegan choice! Food was delicious and service was great.
Food was lovely and staff were friendly. The only reason I have marked down is because I found the service was slow.
Nice food friendly staff
Lovely food, great service! Perhaps some background music could have provided atmosphere during quiet period. Also a little expensive. But overall a lovely lunch.
The Locksbrook Inn is really nice inside and has a lovely seating area, which has cover, right next to the canal. They offer fairly straightforward pub food. I had the chicken roast dinner, I wouldn't order it again as the chicken had obviously been kept warm so the outside was tough, the gravy was very salty, the carrot and swede mash had little to no flavour, the beans and peas were hard and rubbery and there were no roast parsnips even though listed as a vegetable. I ordered a side of pigs in blankets but they'd run out, in addition there was no bread sauce as that had also run out. The best part of the meal was the cauliflower cheese side I ordered. My husband had the seabass which he described as Madras hot. Son had the burger and I assume it tasted good as it was gone in 2 minutes.
The service was average, we ordered a second glass of wine which we had to remind them about after about 10 minutes as it hadn't arrived. We had to attract the staffs attention if we needed anything. The staff were lovely and polite but there wasn't enough of them.
Despite ordering 3 gluten free meals well in advance the options were limited, no gluten free Yorkshire puds, beef was over cooked and not very lean
Great food, great location, great staff. I would recommend to anyone who fancies ending a walk along the river with a good pint of beer and some lovely food.
The food was decent enough but quite long waiting times for food and drinks
Food was not good poor quality and terrible service empty glasses left on table
Room was cold.
Bits of dropped food under tables..could have done with a sweep up.
Delicious lunch time food and a welcoming, efficient and friendly waitress. Thank you
Great setting, lovely decor both in and out, and really nice staff.
Table was very wobbly (with 5 of us seated around it) and chairs were not the most comfortable for the time we had to sit and wait for food. Food was late, really rough roast dinner and my partner's didn't even arrive.
Just happy to get out of there and we all decided it is a nice location for drinks, but would never eat anything else there. Sorry but I'd rather spend my £100 elsewhere next time and feel like I ate freshly prepared and quality food.
Lovely setting. Service could be faster. Food delicious and enjoyed our meal.
Absolutely love the fact that the are dog friendly!
Pit stop on the way home , food was absolutely gorgeous, nothing was yo much trouble. Service excellent.
The staff were friendly and chatty also efficient and checked in a few times throughout our meal
A massive shout out to the 2 waitress that was in the middle of breaking up a fight!!! Who which ones of them was verbal abused by an old man! And still after all of that both of them came to check on all the customers without even having a moment to them selfs! Other than that this is a great place with a great atmosphere! Just unfortunate that we still have disrespectful “elderly” men who think it’s acceptable to call a female a “c*nt” and that she “is a disgrace to the human race” clearly can’t handle his drink. These to deserve a pay rise after all of that and remained professional throughout!
Fantastic late Sunday lunch after a trip to the cinema. Fantastic setting, efficient, friendly service.
