Such a lovely, welcoming dinner experience! Service was incredible, food was even better. The venison was one of the best dishes I've had - thank you for a lovely evening

I don't often write a review, but our meal at Nest was one of our favourites of recent years. Every dish the four of us had was terrific, and the dining room / service was warm, stylish and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to come to Nest again. The food was inventive but delicious, with many striking but perfect combinations of tastes and ingredients. Thanks!

The Nest is a very accomplished restaurant. As an owner of a Michelin listed restaurant myself, I understand what it takes to deliver hospitality at the highest level. The kitchen team clearly know how to deliver on quality. The flavour combinations were excellent and the dishes were visually appealing. The venison loin I had was well rested, full of flavour, tender and beautifully accompanied by a beetroot and celeriac garnish. The duck terrine starter was flavourful and a delightful plate of food. Always a winner with a sweet soufflé (my favourite) for dessert. Great combo of Rhubarb crumble, cooked to perfection. My only comment to elevate the plates even more would be to consider adding a little more texture to the plates. But this is a very minor point. The food was excellent. The service was first class too. Lovely, pleasant, professional and unobtrusive service. Complemented by beautiful restaurant decor, cutlery and crockery. Again, my only comment would be that the glassware didn’t always match the highest standard of the crockery and Robert Welch cutlery. I am also a stickler for highly polished glassware. Whilst the glass my wine was served in was clean, it hadn’t seen a polishing cloth unfortunately. Again, fairly minor point meant to be constructive rather than critical. These small attention to details (imo) is the difference between achieving a third rosette and/or a Michelin star. Certainly, these accolades can’t be far away. A great experience. You won’t be disappointed.

We had dinner for two on a Thursday night. I was with a close friend and we both agreed the interiors are warm, welcoming and very chic. Scandi elements were present with the furniture choices. The food was tasty and the presentation was beautiful. The presentation of the food reminded me of a Michelin star restaurant. The only thing missing was the staff telling you what each element of your dish was. I had the salmon raviolo to start. Delicious! My only bit of constructive feedback was the temperature this dish was served at. It was luke warm. It should have been hotter. I'm not sure if it had been sat in the kitchen waiting to be brought to the table or not, but the temperature definitely wasn't right. I had the beef sirloin for main and this again was glorious. A little on the pink side I am sure for some people. So if you like your beef medium rare or well done, I'd make sure to state that when you're ordering this course. They didn't ask when taking the order about how I'd like the beef cooked. I had seen a gorgeous chocolatey mousse dessert on the restaurants instagram and specifically asked for it! They said it was a dessert from their bar, but let us have it in the restaurant which I was thrilled about. It did NOT disappoint and was the best part of the meal. It was a chocolate mousse with raspberry pieces and topped with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Great experience and I'd come again. Can't fail to mention their partnering with Hotel Chocolat, their velvatised espresso martini was gorgeous! I do also think the service could have been a little more attentive. Our glasses were empty for a while before being asked for a refill and we were pouring our own water throughout the duration of the dinner.

I booked for lunch in The Nest on a Saturday afternoon, but was told when we arrived that we were in a different restaurant altogether called the Aviary as The Nest is not open for lunch (and is never open for lunch apparently). We left as the menu in The Aviary was not quite what we had in mind for a birthday. As we were leaving it looked a lot like there were people dining in The Nest. Not sure whether this is an error with the restaurant or Open Table, either way, it put a bit of a damper on the afternoon.

The food was at best average and vastly overpriced. One of our party was served vegetables which had to be returned because they were rock hard. The service was good and the staff friendly. Would not recommend this restaurant.
