I felt the pre-fix was fairly limited and for the price, the options were not high value ingredients that would warrant the cost. I basically got a lettuce salad to start, entree of eggs with toast and a dessert for $80. The entree should have included more such as bacon or a scramble with classic optional ingredients. The food tasted good of a chef's standard, but not enough to warrant the price. The kids plates were also disappointing. My daughter ordered spaghetti and they only had cheese and butter options for $20. And, the dish was not flavorful or anything special. The server was nice, but could have been more attentive. The ambiance and location is nice.

Village Pub is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food and service is impeccable. Everyone that I introduce to this restaurant, has the same sentiment.

Very good as usual, but the maitre’d (2) were oddly stand offish. They didn’t open the door for say, barely said good bye (nod) or say “thanks please come again”. Reputations are only as good as what you are doing today!

We loved our meal ... multiple choices for each of us, and that’s sometimes hard as my wife is a vegetarian. The service was also great - the waiter, sommelier, and staff were attentive and not over the top. Really a terrific night out.

We go a few times a year. The service is always outstanding ! From the time you arrive until you leave.
Food is excellent especially the scallops and salmon dishes .
Kampachi and Beet appetizers are delicious. The chocolate souffle is out of this world.
The wine list is big and a bit pricey but some less expensive choices can be had.

I want to love this place, but just can't. The food is not as tasty as it use to be. The choices for brunch are minimal and way overpriced. Paid $41 for a rolled omelette with a dollop of caviar on the side. Service is stellar and couldn't be better. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet dinner, meeting, or celebration. But, I want to leave with wonderful flavors swirling in my mouth and some change in my pocket.

Service was terrific and attentive and just really pleasant. Food was small portions but just right for us and everything was of top quality, flavor and seasoning. Beautiful presentation. Fresh made scones and salmon were the highlight. My parents and I could actually talk and hear each other!! Warm ambiance. I loved it and can’t wait to try the bar after a hike.

VP was great, but Open Table messed up by sending me a “reminder “ that gave the time as 8:15 - instead of 6:30!! VP had it right.

I had wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. Food was good - I had the schnitzel which was good, my husband had the hamburger (just ok). It really is an old fashioned looking men’s club restaurant. Not really worth the money in my opinion.

The Village Pub is always wonderful, but this time I found the menu to be uninteresting. The only beef dish was a steak cut that I don't like and nothing else appealed either, so I had the chicken. The chicken was delicious, as was a beet appetizer but not really what I wanted. I would really like to see an expanded menu.

We were out for date night. Both my wife and I are huge foodies/home chefs...very critical when we dine out.

I ordered the special, which was a ribeye steak & my wife had the filet mignon. Both were good, but I always have a problem with sauce on my steak...I'm just a dry rub guy that prefers to taste the flavor of the beef not the sauce...salt and pepper is all that's needed!!! Both our steaks were cooked to perfection, but slightly too much salt. Remember, customers can always add salt, but not remove it.

The wine paired with our meal was very good and did pair well!

The service was good. I observed tables with several people being served and everyone got the meal at the same time...it was all very well choreographed.

I give them 4 stars only because for someone that isn't a foodie/home chef it would be outstanding.

I'm somewhat anxious to return for the lunch menu.

First of all, service was outstanding with tons of friendly helpful staff
( almost too many) . The food was very good, but quite expensive for what you got. Pretty standard American fare prepared very well , but nothing that blew me away. The space was kind of dark and noisy.
For me, lots of better choices in the Bay Area, in this price range.

From the hand ironed tablecloths to the attentive, friendly team, The Village Pub is a go to for a special evening to be savored! The atmosphere is clubby and intimate with two options for dining so a casual dinner is always an option with the Pub menu as well as the fine dining menu. Take your sweetie and feel pampered!

Village Pub was recommended to me by a friend. I enjoyed the experience although found it to be very expensive (and I live in NYC) for the experience. The food and service was very good but I feel it was over priced as was the wine list. That said, I did enjoy my meal and would recommend this restaurant to someone that was going to be in the area with the advanced warning that it is very pricey. The fleet of expensive cars in the parking lot should have served as a warning sign...

Food is consistently good. They have the best burger too along with other fine dining items. I had the duck breast that was perfectly cooked. My husband asked for the duck confit, which was not on the menu, but they had on hand, so they served it to him. The chocolate soufflé and salted caramel pot de creme was so delicious too! We love this place for consistently amazing food and service.

The Village Pub is the place to go to see 40-something white males spend $150 on a piece of meat, eat without manners, talk vulgarly about their companies or investments next to your family table and in general ruin what is otherwise a nice place to eat. The whole dining experience mimics the Gramercy Tavern in NYC with the details like muffins at the end of the meal. But the value is simply not there; wildly over-priced and painful to be in the company of so many jerks.

Great food in a cosy setting. The white valleys de la Loire asparagus were just an amazing addition to the menu that day. Service was excellent and the sommelier did a great job taking care of our Sancerre and getting it to the right temperature on ice.
Our evening was perfect thanks to an attentive staff.

Service is always impeccable. Usually packed for dinner, with excellent atmosphere. The Pub is definitely fine dining (which isn’t our preference). Wine selection is extensive, pricey French/Exotic wine list that most people aren’t familiar with. $50 corkage is a joke! Surprisingly we ordered a CA Paul Hobbs Chard, $100 (excellent rec by sommelier). If you like fine dining, then VP is an excellent value. DF
