Such a lovely setting, but this wasn't the best experience.
The computer system for ordering broke so our order was forgotten. It took over an hour to get a drink on arrival (apart from one which was spilt on the way and was incorrect). It took a very long time to get the food and we had to ask several times for at least a bit of bread, glasses to put the water in etc etc.
When the food finally came out it was lovely and the meal was enjoyable - the setting is fantastic and maybe we were just unlucky.
But... on the way out, they had a leak in the car park from the toilet which was pretty awful and meant we had to walk through waste to get back in the car.
Burgers are below average. Ordered a decaf coffee which was more like warm milk. We had a booking at 12. Service is very slow in my opinion. Got the menus at 12:20 and drinks at 12:40. We were the only clients at that time.
Great setting and friendly staff. A little overpriced for the food, which does not blow you away.
Possibly worst meal.
We waited for over an hour for the meal, which was close to inedible and highly over priced for the standard and amount of food.
It ruined a special day for us and we will not be coming back.
Beautiful place, amazing food, great portions, plenty of gluten free options, lovely service. Best fining experience I have had for a long time.
Haven’t been here for many years but wanted a change from the restaurants in Cambridge. So pleased we chose this one. Had a really lovely evening in the garden under a teepee kept warm by a fire pit. Really great ambience with friendly service, lovely background music and delicious food . The fairy lit garden pods are amazing too. Had a really relaxing evening! Highly recommend.
Sat out in the teepee which was a really great experience. Food and service were really good, with the younger crew being very attentive.
Great food and lovely ambience in the outdoor bell tent area.
Food was decent, great price on Prosecco. All round very happy
Really lovely food and setting - highly recommend for a special occasion!
The service was second to none and the food was fantastic, was taken here as a a birthday treat and it lived up to my expectations. A little treasure in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
First time at the Willow Tree and delighted by the restaurant. Excellent attentive, personal and knowledgeable service from the staff. Congratulations to the chef and staff, the menu was interesting and varied, catering for vegetarians alongside imaginative recipes for meats and fish dishes. We ate lunch inside, quality decoration and the tables are sensitively spaced to allow privacy.
Felt like it was a bit over priced to be honest for what it was - chicken breast was ok , but only one potato and my husband had pork that was tough as boots - staff was friendly and it was very busy there n food came out quickly considering
Food was delicious, staff were brilliant and the little surprise for my mums birthday was very much appreciated.
Food overpriced and overcooked
My partner had to send her food back as it was burned.
We ended up eating up separately which was not great for a date when we hadn’t seen each other for 1 month
Very average tasteless food, reasonable service, atmosphere good but listening to Frank Sinatra continually for 2 hours is hard work.
Horrid food, cute place
Excellent service made a tasty lunch ever better.
The food was exceptional. What you'd expect from a decent restaurant rather than a pub. A good choice available for all courses and everything was beautifully presented as well as being delicious.
Haven’t been to the Willow tree in over a year and it was lovely to be back.
The food menu has changed slightly and no specials on the board which was disappointing but in saying that what we all chose tasted amazing .
Will definitely be returning .
First time visiting, and we did have a lovely evening. The service was excellent, the setting is nice (we sat on the terrace, but the teepee looks nice) and the food was tasty. Our only complaint is that we felt the meals we had were over-priced by £4-5, and the desserts (as usual in restaurants nowadays) especially so. So it loses out a bit on value for money, but can't fault anything else.
Excellent food and service. Our first time to the pub and a very enjoyable experience.
The service was brilliant, from being greeted when we arrived to regular check ins on food and drinks throughout. The food was tasty, a little expensive, but hot and as advertised. Would recommend and will return.
Lovely setting and ambience and delicious desserts
The use of garden pods and a large Teepee made for a fairly unique dining experience.
Good food, good value and great service.
Great experience to eat in the teepee and fabulous rhubarb and custard cocktail!
Food is very bland but the place is nice
So from the start, we had booked for 6pm on a Friday. We were the only ones there to start with but still had to wait for at least 20 mins to order drinks, one drink order was a rose spritzer, a white spritzer turned up with far too much soda in and basically tasted of soda water. One of the nibbles ordered was a sour dough and hummus, the wrong thing turned up and after a bit of deliberation they decided they didn’t have any sour dough bread so had sent an alternative! My husband ordered the courgette starter as he’s vegetarian and then he was told they didn’t have any courgettes! So he asked what else they could do and again after a conflab with the kitchen they could make another one of the starters vegetarian, which he had. He also order the jack fruit burger which was stone cold when it arrived, all the other mains were Luke warm at best. It took so long for any of the food to arrive that some of us had finished before the others got their order. We then ordered an Eton mess for one desert only to be told they didn’t have any meringue! I ordered 2 children’s ice creams only to have one turn up with 2 scoops and we had to wait 15 mins for a cup of tea only to be charged twice for it on the bill! When my husband was paying the bill the waiter said ‘you do know there isn’t any gratuities on the bill, I’ll add it to your card or you can leave cash!!!’ Never before have we been asked for money at a restaurant!! The service was poor and the food was average and overpriced. There was 7 of us, 3 were children and we were there over 3 1/2 hours and it cost £220!! We certainly won’t be going back or recommending the restaurant to anyone
Beautiful surroundings and lovely staff. Good variety on the menu too.
Disappointed in the veggie choice which 4 out of our party if 6 were . The truffle macaroni cheese was very bland as a whole dish on it’s own and expensive.Although jackfruit burger was also on offer this is a very particular taste for vegetarians.
Service could have been better, had to keep asking for things, got a pot of tea without milk or sugar, that came then didn’t have spoons!! Cakes were quite bland. Would still go back, main menu food looked lush!!
We were seated in the Teepee, and it was very quiet and a nice setting.
The food was fantastic & service was pleasant and attentive.
I highly recommend the willow tree!
Service was very slow and a few things we’d asked for for forgotten but overall good
Lovely restaurant, lovely food and beautiful outside dining area but sadly not very good service. Wrong food arrived, offered a complimentary drink which didn’t arrive until prompted and seemed to forget about us after ordering our mains. A real shame, since everything else was great. Service let it down unfortunately; May be just a busy evening for them.
We waited 30 minutes to be seated, but besides that, everything was perfect!
Perfect setting for lunch, fantastic charming service where nothing was too much trouble....Definitely going back!
Lovely food, company, ambience and service. Thank you!
If your looking to relax, eat nice food and feel good vibes this is the place. A conversation with the staff are never far away very friendly noce peoplez
Couldn't fault this place, kids and us loved everything. Service is excellent
