Tickler's Crab Shack and Restaurant
We do what Maryland does best: Crabs! Locally-caught Maryland blue crabs from the morning’s haul are ripe for the cracking at Tickler’s Crab Shack & Restaurant, our lively seafood-focused eatery. Grab a seat outside and take in the sunset over the bay or dine inside with the same stunning waterfront views. Dig into hand-crafted cocktails and classic Chesapeake fare.
Love the new dinner menu and Bar Mumbo atmosphere.
Nothing fancy at all! The main dining area was closed so we ate outside at the covered bar/picnic table area, which is on the water. Limited menu, but the crab cakes were good. Likely would not go back, prefer someplace a little more upscale
Food is delicious but the kitchen is very far from the dining room, and the food gets cold being carried to the dining room. Covers for the food would be simple. Otherwise things are great.
Good food once we got it. Good service by waiter. Kitchen was slow however when food finally came out it was hot and good. Would recommend.
As always - we had a great dinner at Ticklers! The service was fantastic - Michael is one of the best in the business. I was disappointed that the steamed shrimp had been removed from the menu as it was one of my favorites. All in all, a good experience and we’ll be back.
We had a great time on Valentine’. Been to area many times and this is a great new option for dining. Loved the music and mix of customers.
The appy corn balls were terrible. We didn't eat them, but they didn't comp them. Otherwise the food was delicious. It was too noisy to talk.
On the plus side, the setting is nice and the first-course raw oysters were well presented. The negatives are multiple: the venue is poorly signed from the road; we ordered from the non-crab items, and both were sub-standard. The server assured us that the burger could be rare, but it was well done. The fish and chips entree was served with no condiments - there was not even salt and pepper on the table. When the server asked if we wished catsup, we said yes. She tossed a few little plastic catsup capsules - like you get at fast food shops - on the table. This was inconsistent with the narrative on their "organic" water cups and other nods toward local and organic. The fish breading was doughy and the fish underdone. The server brought our bill before we asked for it!
Very noisy. Good service. Good food but priced for the tourists staying there, not locals. A simple meal for two was over $100 with tip. The same meal elsewhere in the area would easily be 20% less.
A wonderful place for dinner. We had the steamed crab it was delicious. Can’t beat the view and the bartender Ryan was great.
Local — 1st time here... food was excellent, service was prompt, friendly, with a smile! Loved the redecorating done after the former owners sold. We will return! Thanks!
Great food, friendly service, overall outstanding! Oysters were incredible. Scallops were perfect!
Friendly and attentive service. Great drink options. Can't beat the view!
Your presence on Tilghman's Island add context and content to our dining and hotel offerings. Well done and wish you well - particularly when the weather permits outdoor dining. Welcome additions to the wine list and restructuring and the pricing. And the beer offerings are more than interesting.
Wonderful food and service. Excellent crab cakes and oysters. Casual atmosphere. Placed filled up with fishing parties and got loud. Outdoor spaces looked nice. A lovely spot on Tilghman.
The food was excellent. Hi noise level with kids running in and out of the side door. Friendly service. Great view of water.
Oysters were fresh. But my risotto was undercooked, and my fiancée’s salmon (which wasn’t even the one she ordered) was as well. They did offer to replace my risotto with a side of mashed potatoes that were pretty bland. Hope it was an off night, because we love the hotel.
Disappointing, the crab cakes were overdone and the shrimp in the cocktail was not fresh. The Rockfish was good but this was a crab restaurant. The table next to us did get whole crab and they looked to be a good size.
This restaurant should be ashamed of itself. The crab cakes are a disgrace considering they are being served in MD. Shredded crab obviously frozen then reheated. Disgusting!!!!! Steamed shrimp ok but had to request cocktail sauce. Server Kelli was helpful but in no way responsible for the quality of the meal. The owner needs to visit Crab N Que in St. Michaels to learn what a real MD crab cake is like.
Another fantastic experience at Tickler's! Very happy that Tilghman Island has a place like the Wylder Hotel and Bar Mumbo and Tickler's within. The staff are fantastic, the views are absolutely unbeatable and the food is top notch! John, Michael, Kelly and Kirby are some of the best in the biz!
Keep it up y'all - see ya soon!
Beautiful view, crabs and oysters were delish. Everyone (host, hostess, wait staff etc) were friendly and helpful.
