Best Mexican in the city! Great service too!
Food is always fabulous. Yummy margaritas. Super seevice
Food was delicious! The server was so so sweet. The owner came by a few times and was wonderful!
Fantastic food. Best Mexican in New York for sure. We are from Mexico and have never tried such delicious plates in Manhattan before. The huitlacoche quesadilla is just wow. The meats are extremely tender and the pineapple mezcal cocktail was so great. We had dinner outdoors and felt so cozy, warm and comfortable inside the cabins they have constructed outside. Just GREAT.
They were not able to provide us with a safe seat after we had made a reservation. We needed to leave.
Phenomenal pandemic outdoor seating (private booths), delicious food, and good service.
Wonderful food as always and sitting in the outdoor heated tables was wonderful
What a fabulous spot!! From the incredibly knowledgeable and fun service to the unparalleled food it was perfection! Also, the music was super fun and the Covid guidelines were followed to a t. Highly recommend!!
It was our first time back from indoor dining and everything was excellent- food, service, COVID protocols. Excited to be able to dine indoors again so we will definitely be back!
Amazing set up out back with plenty of heaters! Wait staff was lovely and food was delicious.
We go every weekend for Sat brunch as well as during the week for dinner.
We love the outdoor dining facilities they have set up the service and the food are truly excellent!
We are fortunate to have this restaurant in our neighborhood!

Always a favorite!
Outdoor experience: We ate in Toloache 82’s outdoor cabins yesterday. Each cabin is 100% enclosed and there is no air flow between rooms, plus the doors slide shut (no cold curtain issues). We were TOASTY warm with the heater blasting and actually had to crack the window - and it was 31° out. As of 1/30/2021, the only dining options were in the cabins - so you don’t risk accidentally booking an outdoor table.
The meal itself: the food and drinks were outstanding! We went through several rounds of their margaritas, including the cucumber-jalapeño, roasted pineapple-jalapeño, and watermelon. All were delicious, if a bit pricey for the size. We loved the fruita guacamole, which was a totally unique take on a classic and will be what we judge guacamole against in the future.
The real winner of the meal was the Suadero tacos. They were mouthwatering and completely overshadowed the other fish tacos (which were also great by themselves... but cannot compare to the suadero). The moisture made the corn tortillas a little tricky to manage, but it was totally worth it. We finished with some fresh churros with chocolate and duche de leche sauce. A pricy meal, but 100% worth it. We will be back!
Outdoor dining on the back patio. Great heat lamps and rather quiet, as to be expected during this time. But overall a very good meal!
This is an easy outdoor dining evening...informal, food is delicious and doesn't crash when it goes cold in this weather. Staff super friendly
Absolutely amazing recommend 10/10
When we arrived, it appeared the manager or owner was hosting. They didn’t have our reservation, he went back inside to check came out asked me to pull mine up (not a big deal) then he said you know we are only open until 10pm and sort of gave us a look. I told him we knew (it was 8:30). I just kinda got the vibe he didn’t want to serve us. We did get a table the waiter was awesome, food was good , drinks were so great! I had the de la Calle. Just generally not welcoming with the mix up at the door. Two bigger groups in the back were very very loud and we left before they were done so I don’t really understand the we close at 10 comment.
Consistently excellent food. Extremely safe and warm environment. Lovely staff.
Excellent food, drinks, service
Great food! Great margheritas! And the staff is always so welcoming. One of my favorite meals in NYC when I visit from Paris.
Great place for some out of the ordinary Mexicali! Won't disappoint!
Best place in the neighborhood! Go give it s visit, order delivery or buy a gift certificate to support these great people!
Great Mexican food with creative twists. The drinks are delicious, too.
All was great!
I loved the food and the place i didnt like that they had a party literally so close to us when they were many empty tables but chose the one next to us and i couldnt even hear my self while im talking
birthday celebration. Awesome place
We've been here now three times, and each time we have ordered similar things, the "medium" spiced guacamole is wonderful and different, with pomegranate and mango. We usually order three different taco entrees (2 tacos per order for a total of 6 tacos to then be shared for the two of us--so each gets three tacos each). The short ribs tacos were amazing! All in all, good food, although wine prices seem excessively high, and limited choices.
Great place to hung out with friends. Good service and food.
Food is always good and drinks go down easy.
I always love having dinner at Toloache. Amazing cocktails and delicious and unique food options. I highly recommend this place and keep on coming back. It definitely is not cheap but the food is so worth it!!!
Great
Best Paella ever !!!
Fun for me and my girlfriends. Food was very good and service was excellent. They realized it was my friend’s birthday without us telling them and surprised her with a song. Was very thoughtful
Always a reliably good experience. Suitable for all ages and budgets with lots of choices to accomodate various food restrictions.
We have been to Toalache on Thompson Street, they have a Happy Hour, when we went to the upper east side we asked about happy hour to be told - "we don't need happy hour here" . Watery frozen margaritas and $4 for chips and dip - rip off.
Great place, food terrific
Great food, reasonably priced. Outstanding service. Can't wait to go back!
We enjoyed the traditional guacamole and and quesadilla. The carne asada was delicious. I ordered 2 margaritas. I was disappointed with the first one, which seemed watered down; the second one was stronger and much better.
Great service! Food was incredible— nice variety of margaritas for everyone to choose from and incredible fresh guacamole!
I first visited Toloache several months ago for brunc on a Sunday. I sat at the bar, in the quiet cozy front room, and enjoyed delicious pozole and ceviches. My return on a Friday night was less pleasant. My companion and I were seated in the very loud back room, dominated by oblivious and entitled patrons - not the restaurant's fault of course, but all too standard for Friday in the UES. Service was good, but the tacos were heavily oversalted. I look forward to trying again at a quieter time.
The service is so good and I have a lot of dietary restrictions so that’s always a huge bonus. Food is very good but not anything mind blowing. Drinks are very good. I would go definitely to back.
